Good morning PoN it’s a cloudy start here but fairly mild at 10 degrees. So what have we all got planned for this weekend? We are “boy sitting” tonight while son and DiL have a night out. Hopefully the boys will enjoy Granny’s home made Chicken Biryani, George probably will but Fred is a bit more fastidious. Tomorrow it’s Park Run in the morning and the last home March in the afternoon, hopefully I can persuade George to accompany me. Sunday a day of rest, unless something crops up. Indeed PATIENCE is the key word here, unfortunately football fans are notorious for being lacking in that regard and Notts fans are no different. I know we all love to hate the Stags but let’s be magnanimous and congratulate them on their well deserved promotion. Nigel Clough has managed them well, slow but steady progress over the years, buying decent players, they deserve their promotion so well done.

Let’s not get too carried away and write off next season before it’s started, it’s a clean slate and if we can keep some of our better players and move on some who aren’t up to it whilst replacing them with better players we’ll be ok, Maynard and the owners will have learnt a lot from this season, we can put this season behind us now, we’ve had a year in a new division and finished mid table let’s celebrate that. Am I sounding too happy, clappy?

I said exactly the same thing, it’s like Groundhog Day watching Baldwin. Notts weren’t helped by a poor referee but in fairness we were well beaten. Hopefully it’ll be us celebrating promotion this time next season.
