  1. Wordle 940 4/6* ⬜⬜????⬜⬜ ⬜???????????????? ⬜???????????????? ???????????????????? A lot of options there, that could have go on and on.
  2. I must admit I can’t remember Quizball I can remember other quiz shows from the 60s such as Take Your Pick with Michael Miles. We renamed Eggheads to “Smugheads” those eggheads are so far up themselves.
  3. Oh yes I used to like that, I used to try and work out the clues but you could usually make the clue fit both the bin and the star prize.
  4. You won’t believe this @super_ram but we’ve said exactly the same thing. We often comment “the man with the magnet is at it again” sometimes the counter swerves alarmingly out of its path a magnet is the only answer.
  5. I’ve been chatting with @super_ram on another topic about quiz shows so I thought I’d open up the discussion on its own thread. Do you watch quiz shows? What’s your favourite? We regularly watch Pointless which is different in that you have to come up with an obscure answer. We also like Tipping Point on channel 4. Whats your favourite?
  6. I took grandson George to see the ladies play when they were in the top league and played at Meadow Lane we enjoyed it and I think it was good for him to see that women can play football too.
  7. @super_ram yes I have, although the contestants are far too quick and get the answers while I’m still thinking about it.
  8. That’s a great story @Chris thanks for sharing it. I’ve heard other people say what a friendly guy he is and how he lives for football, Neil Bishop told some good stories about him when they were both at Notts, how he’d turn up in the pouring rain to watch training etc. Err, you won’t think that when you’re in your 70s like me and @super_ram I want to have a few more years yet. I’m only teasing @liampie when I was your age I thought 75 was ancient.
  9. I’ve had a very very authentic sounding call from o2 offering me 40% off my current bill, I actually fell for it at the beginning. They seemed knew my email address and sent a text message with a code, they then asked me to tell them the code which stupidly I told them then they sent an email with a link to reset my password this is where I got suspicious and terminated the call. I switched my phone off and back on again to make sure they weren’t still on the line and immediately phoned o2 who checked my account and advised me to change my password, they also said they’d never ask for a code number they’d sent in a text which I should have known. Luckily they didn’t get into my account but if I’d gone ahead and changed my password from their link they would have been able to access the account and buy phones etc. I think because they knew my email they were able to try to access my account which sends an official text with a code to my phone which because it was definitely from o2 I was happy to give them. Thankfully the warning bells sounded when they asked me to click a link to change my password. I am normally very wary of calls like this but this was very clever and very believable so please beware if you are an o2 customer.
  10. Well you completed it so that’s good, some days it’s that hard/obscure that it’s almost impossible but good for the brain.
  11. You have to have an eye like a (bottom row) to spot some of these words.
  12. You may (or may not) like this game, the idea is to connect words in a certain number of guesses. It can be frustrating because sometimes they throw in American things we don’t necessarily know. Here’s the link https://www.nytimes.com/games/connections Today was fairly easy I got them all with no mistakes. Connections Puzzle #217 ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ????????????????

  15. What the hell was that I’ve just listened to, our cat nearly hit the ceiling when I celebrated Didsy’s late goal but then we conceded again! We’ve got to get the defence sorted out it’s ridulous to score 5 away from home and not win the game. It must have been a great game to watch for the neutral but my nerves were really on edge.

  21. Ok folks the weekend is here, who’s got some exciting plans? Whose plans are not so exciting? Let’s talk in general about what you are up to or have been up to this weekend. Tonight Mrs. T is cooking one of her famous curries a lovely chicken Passanda then we will watch the latest edition of The Traitors on BBC 1. Tomorrow it’s the Park Run my son is volunteering to be a bar code scanner this week so it means he’ll have to go early so I won’t get my usual lift and have to drive myself. ☹️ I’m usually inackered afterwards so it’ll be a slow drive back. In the afternoon I’ll be listening to Radio Nottingham on the Notts match at Grimsby hoping Big Jim can rally the team and get a win. Sunday to be confirmed. What are you up to this weekend?
  22. He has its here https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/community/forum/9-jimmy-sirrel-stand/
  23. Yes I think the Match Talk section is a good choice.
  24. @Chris did you mean to put the prediction league into PoN Insider section? It seems a strange choice.
