As I understand it the DoF is Head of Recruitment unless I’ve got that wrong. I do think the DoF should recruit the players to suit the system played, if the manager recruits the players and then moves on for whatever reason then the new manager usually wants his own players, it’s better to have continuity in my opinion i.e. players recruited to play a system irrespective of the manager.

It’s a good question @Wheelbarrow repair man and it’s one I’ve never worried about, I just click don’t allow. I did a search, this is what I found. Websites ask for your location to enhance the user experience by providing relevant local content, services, and search results; to offer personalized advertising by showing targeted ads for your area; for security purposes, such as detecting suspicious login attempts; and for demographic data to understand their audience better. Does that make you feel any better or worse? 🤣

I can understand that fans who want to see pre season games are disappointed when the squad goes on tour but playing devils advocate I think the idea is for the squad to travel together have some time away and bond with each other, I do think it’s a good idea to go on tour whether that’s Germany or elsewhere but then again I’ve never been too bother about seeing pre season matches.

Just a point on that, if you don’t want to give your location just click on “don’t allow” then it’s not an invasion of your privacy.

Thanks @Piethagoram its 13 years now since that awful day we lost our son to suicide, it changed our lives forever, I sometimes wonder how we got through those dark days, months and years but we had to carry on for our other son and our grandchildren. We had great support from our family and the charity Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide, (SoBS), talking to others who have lost loved ones definitely helped. It’s true what Stan Collymore says someone’s suicide affects not only family but friends and colleagues etc. it’s a ripple effect.

I think the clubs preferred option is a separate DoF and Head Coach, I can’t see them deviating from that set up.

I guess we’ll never know the reason for this sudden departure and there’s no point really in speculating, it certainly came as a shock, I only hope the next appointment is the right one to take us forward.

Director of Football Roberto Gagliardi has left the club by mutual agreement. The car has passed it’s MoT one little advisory one of the rear tyres will need replacing soon. It was reasonably pleasant waiting for the MoT at the dealers, free coffee, a telly, lots of magazines and newspapers and a viewing window into the workshop to see my car being tested. Best of all not a penny to pay! I have been thinking of changing to a new electric car, there are some good deals at the moment but I love my Citroen C3 Aircross, it’s got all the gadgets I want and I’ve still only done 28,000 miles since 2019, it still looks new so why change? Plus instead of spending on a car that money can go to more cruises. @Michael D Pie. that's awesome, I’d love to do that.
