  8. Morning all, a sunny start here too. Yesterday I got stuck in to the garden which has been neglected for a fortnight. I mowed the lawn and cleared some plants from the pond which was in desperate need of filling up, so now the birds and animals can get a drink in this hot weather. Later we had a bbq with the grandkids who have stayed overnight while their mum and dad went to see Pulp in Manchester. We won’t see the kids until lunch time now they are teenagers they’d rather lie in their pits than spend time with granny and grandad. Right it’s time to do the word games hopefully I’ll do better than yesterday. 🙄
  9. He sounds like the sort of player who’s not frightened to get stuck in and tackle hard when necessary, just what we need a tough tackling midfielder I’m looking forward to see his partnership with Matt Palmer flourish.
  10. I’ve not seen this mentioned so apologies if it has. I was saddened to hear that Dick Edwards has passed away, many older pies fans will remember Dick from the 1960s he played number 5 I think in central defence. I believe he also played for the Stags and Aston Villa. Once he’d retired from football he played the guitar and sang in local pubs and clubs.
  11. Wales online have probably just pulled that from Twitter which may or may not be true, local journalists are notoriously lazy when it comes to verifying stories, I know I used to work in a newspaper office.
  12. Yes but have they? Who says? Can you trust anything these days? “A source close to Luke” anyone could say that and make up something. A source close to Fan of Big Tone thinks it could be a load of hogwash. 😂
  13. The trouble is you can’t believe anything these days the phot looks genuine but who knows it’s not been created by AI ? I can’t believe he’s really working at an airport surely there’s a job somewhere in football for him.
  14. Belated welcome from me @BridgyPie what a great picture with Mick Walker. This place is far better than Twitter or Facebook, I hope you stick around and become a regular.
  15. If that was the case you’d have no chance.

  20. Good morning all, it looks like another hot sultry day today. I’ve got lots to do, we haven’t unpacked our suitcases yet so that’s the first job, then get some washing on and hung out to dry which shouldn’t take long. Then the lawn needs mowing it’s more like a carpet of clover at the moment, I a,so want to fill up the pond so the birds have got something to drink. The grandkids are coming to stay the night, we are doing a bbq which always goes down well with them. Have a great day everyone.
  21. Thanks miduck, it’s nice to be back, you can have too much rich food and expensive wine, I’m looking forward to beans on toast and a pint of my home brew.
  22. It’s certainly dragging on isn’t it? I guess that could mean this Danish chap could be the man, or perhaps the first choice has turned them down and they are searching again, who knows.
  23. Yes indeed 73 or 74 next as us old folk tend to say. 😂 Someone’s got a long memory, Tony Hateley was my previous username.
  24. I wish we’d have had some rain on our garden while we were away, my tomato plants looked awful, I’ve given them a good drink and they’ve perked up a bit,the potted clematis looks like it’s died and the pond is almost empty. The only thing that’s flourished is the yucca which has sprouted a huge flower but I guess it’s a sort of tropical plant anyway.
