Morning everyone, wet here this morning. I’ve got to go to the dentist again, she repaired a broken tooth a couple of weeks ago but the filling fell out a few days later so hopefully a more permanent repair today. Morning all, it’s a lovely start to the day. We are popping to see an old friend whose birthday it is today, we’ve remained friends for 56 years in spite of the fact that he supports the team across the Trent. We met at college and have kept in touch through the years as we’ve both had our ups and downs, he’s on his own now after losing his wife a few years ago, it’ll be good to have a chat and catch up.

Oldham fans will be elated to be back, we know that feeling.

We won’t know the whole truth of the matter, was Didzy’s expectations of a new contract far in advance of what we could realistically afford? I don’t think any player is bigger than the club no matter who they are, the brothers are very conscious that we don’t overspend and leave the club in trouble with astronomic debts. It’s their money that everyone is wanting them to spend, it’s very easy to say they should have paid Didzy what he wanted when it’s not your money. Under the brothers we have made slow steady progress, spending millions after millions doesn’t guarantee success as Carlisle found, let’s just be happy that the brothers are spending within their means and not racking up debts that put the clubs future in jeopardy.
