Luke Williams on Harrogate: 'Were More Unpredictable Than the League'
Notts' performance can be inconsistent, but that's just the nature of football. We can't anticipate consecutive promotions. League Two is tougher than the National League, but even so, underdogs can triumph. I simply wish for Notts to regain their discipline and determination to secure the outcomes we desire.

Where are they now? Alan Sheehan
I would always wish the best for someone like Alan Sheehan. We may have had difficulties during his time at the club, but none of it was his fault. We are indebted to him for the penalty he scored that kept us in League One against Oldham. I hope he accomplishes his coaching aspirations.

Match Discussion: Game 22 - Sulphurites (A)
I want to see Notts attack as we know they can. We’ve had good and bad performances away from home, some average, but no matter how we play, creating goal opportunities can win games, so we need to improve creatively. I believe Dan Crowley will bounce back after being substituted, assuming he’s not injured. @yelobeli - I hope you manage to get the tickets. You often see them being sold in Facebook groups when some fans can’t attend. I’ll be there, @CliftonMagpie or @liampie always sorts our tickets the moment they go on sale. Have a nice day whatever you end up doing.

Notts County’s Momentum: ‘One-nil Up is Not Job Done,’ Says Luke Williams
Currently, Luke Williams is facing a slump and poor performance that he hasn’t encountered before. Usually, he can get Notts back on track, but for some reason, despite the effort, it’s not working at the moment. I don’t agree with David Jackson’s presser suggestion that Notts are overconfident. I believe it’s not a lack of confidence. It’s likely a combination of nerves and panic causing the defensive problems. As for what went wrong in the second half against Walsall, it’s much simpler because Notts just stopped playing. When that happens, passing becomes tedious.

Notts County Skipper Kyle Cameron Reflects on the Season So Far
I respect Kyle Cameron, he’s an excellent captain. Those fans who doubt his abilities are missing the point. He’s clearly competent, and with our support, he should continue to improve. I appreciate his sincere responses.

Countdown to Kick-off: Notts County’s Quest for Victory Against Walsall
It’s a significant match for Walsall, and we may appear weaker if we don’t find a way to secure a win. We shouldn’t underestimate them, but we should be victorious against teams below us. That’s our main task, so hopefully, we can avoid any unexpected setbacks.
-
Match Discussion: Game 21 - The Saddlers (H)
Based on Walsall’s performance, Notts should have ample opportunities and devise innovative strategies to advance the ball into attack zones. Aaron Nemane and Dan Crowley could prove difficult for them to handle if they can weave their magic. Jodi Jones could also add a spark to our game. While Walsall has some good players, they seem disoriented on the field and usually play with just one forward.

Luke Williams Confident in Notts County’s Ability to Achieve Sustained Success
The players are good enough, but ideally we could use someone who is a leader at the back and can improve on what we have. It's fair to give players a chance and to defend them, but we do need someone who is always focused on organising the back and dealing with threats actively. Mistakes will happen, but they do need to be minimised.

Luke Williams on Nurturing Notts County’s Future Star, James Sanderson: ‘I’m Very Enthusiastic About What He Could Achieve'
James Sanderson performed well, but we need to avoid overhyping his debut. The problem I see is people making negative comments if he plays and underperforms or just plays in a way that some fans can’t see he needs time. I do hope to see him in the team, but it will be seasons away before we have a youth player that is going to be with us for a while.
-
Luke Williams Determined to Address Notts County Defensive Challenges
I hope we can begin to worry less, as we’ve noticed that we often give up too quickly, something we’ve been conscious of all season. I won’t criticise the players for the poor defence, I’m certain they’re aware and will be upset with themselves. I simply hope we become more resilient from this experience because we’re in an excellent position where a little more effort could yield results.

Trust in the Gaffer: Junior Morias on Team Selection at Notts County
I have faith in Luke Williams, but he needs to be looking for defenders come January. Junior Morias is a great lad too, I’m glad he got his chance and scored. It’s just a pity our defenders can’t hold their ground as well.
-
The Magpies’ Flight: Notts County’s Bittersweet Encounter with Shrewsbury Town
Our defence was rather haphazard, leading to three easy goals for the opposition. The club needs to address this defensive issue as we’re not seeing any signs of improvement. Shrewsbury Town weren’t significantly superior to us. The main difference between us was our poor defending.
-
FA Cup Anticipation: Notts County Gears Up for a Pivotal Fixture against Shrewsbury Town
Defeating Shrewsbury Town wouldn't necessarily be considered a surprising victory. They’re a strong team, but they could easily blend into League Two and be average or compete with us. They have some good players, but we mustn’t forget our own strengths. A successful cup run would be great, but first, we need to focus on tonight’s match and aim for a win.

Over the Moon with First League Goal: Junior Morias Praises ‘Brilliant’ Notts County Supporters
We talked in the pre-season about how Junior Morias would fit into the squad. With Cedwyn Scott’s injury, Junior has been given more of an opportunity. He’s got a turn of speed that’s frighteningly quick, which could come in handy. His goal was brilliantly placed, so we know he’s got the ability to score. I hope he gets more opportunities as he’s had a bit of bad luck with injuries.
-
Jim O’Brien Celebrates Notts County’s Resilience in Victory Over Crawley Town
Crawley Town certainly posed a challenge, but once we got into our stride and David McGoldrick equalised, we were able to take control in the second half. Jim O'Brien's remarkable goal showcased his unwavering agility, effortlessly converting a challenging header into a seemingly effortless move. I’m really chuffed for him and hope he scores a few more this season.
-
Luke Williams on Notts County’s Win: ‘Energy and Aggression Were Back’
As for Sam Slocombe, I hope he’s not seriously injured. I’m fond of both him and Aidan Stone, so it would be worrying if Slocombe was out for a long time. But Stone is fully capable of stepping back into the team. We were fantastic in the second half, everything just fell into place and we turned the tables on Crawley. Our pressure on them really paid off. It was a brilliant win.
-
Notts County’s Coach Luke Williams on Adam Chicksen: ‘He Brings So Much Intensity to the Team’
His future doesn’t seem to be on the wings, as we have numerous players in those positions and some will always be preferred over him for some reason. It’s more likely he will be brought on as a substitute in this area, but I can easily envision him being used as a temporary fill-in again in one of our three centre back positions.
-
Mark Stallard’s Take: ‘Lack of Inspiration’ Plagues Notts County’s Play
There’s a sense of nervousness and a lack of creativity. Ideally, we could benefit from a few players hitting top form that’s good enough to propel us forward. Dominating games offensively would alleviate the pressure on the defence. This could be achieved by keeping at least two players back and being mindful of long balls forward aimed at outpacing our back line. While we continue to depend on our goalkeepers, they will persistently face a barrage of harsh and often unjust comments directed at them. Whether it’s for a single mistake or for not making a save. Even though they save many decent attempts, they can’t stop everything. The defenders simply need to improve their defending.

Luke Williams’ Take on Notts County’s Defeat: A Lesson in Transparency
I can’t understand why this happens at away games, we don’t seem like the same team at times. Once panic kicks in, it appears that every player’s mindset shifts, leading to costly mistakes. Despite the criticism Sam Slocombe often receives, he managed to keep the scoreline more respectable, and it’s not his fault for failing to save a penalty. The taker always has the advantage in that situation, especially with the recent rule changes. I’m quite disappointed because I know we’re capable of much better.

Notts Alumni: Ben Davies
From the moment Ben Davies joined the squad, it was clear that he would play a significant role in the season when we were aiming for promotion. The formidable alliance formed by Lee Hughes, Neal Bishop, Ricky Ravenhill, and Mike Edwards was truly remarkable. Watching him play for Notts was a pleasure, as he was such a naturally gifted player.

Match Discussion: Game 19 - The Wombles (A)
The line-up does sound promising with the blend of experience and youth. Jim O’Brien’s presence on the field could provide the stability the team needs, while Dan Gosling could bring in fresh energy as a substitute. Here’s hoping for an exciting match between Notts and Wimbledon!

John Bostock on the Uniqueness of Notts County: A Blend of Leadership, Vision, and History
John’s signing indeed seems to be a strategic move by the club to bolster their chances of promotion. His passion for the game and the positive environment around him are certainly contributing to his performance. It’s great to hear that despite the challenges, he’s thriving at Notts.

Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Bantams (H)
It should be an engaging match. This is going to be one of those games where Notts will need to be at their peak, as Bradford City can turn it into a contest regardless of their difficulties. They might arrive at Meadow Lane under the impression that it should be easier for us, but I believe that will make it more challenging because we simply don’t know if they will be fired up and ready, or if they will allow us to play and park the bus.

Defying Speculation: Luke Williams’ Commitment to Notts County
The rumour mill has been in overdrive recently, with speculation linking Notts County's head coach, Luke Williams, with a move to Oxford United. However, it seems that the gifted coach is set to buck the trend and stay put at Meadow Lane, much to the delight of the Magpies' faithful. In the age of rampant player movements and footballing commercialism, loyalty is a virtue often overlooked. In Williams, Notts County has not just a supremely talented coach, but also a loyal servant to the club. Luke Williams, the current head coach of Notts County, has a deep-rooted connection with the club and has encouraged youth development within the club. Williams took over the management of Notts County after Ian Burchnall left for Forest Green Rovers, following a season where he failed to achieve promotion via the playoffs. Williams was appointed as the head coach of Notts on 14th June 2022. Under Williams' leadership, Notts County achieved promotion from the National League with a win in the playoff final against Chesterfield. This victory was a significant achievement for both Williams and the club, further strengthening his bond with the Magpies and their faithful supporters. Over the season, he has developed a special bond with the club, its staff, and its fans, making it more than just an employer to him. It is his home, his family. This emotional connection, which transcends the purely transactional nature of modern football, is a significant factor in Williams' decision to remain focused on Notts County despite the interest expressed outside the club. In response to the rumours linking him to Oxford, Williams stated, "No, I heard that our friend Ruben Rodrigues made a comment." He went on to say that he had spoken to Ruben, who he described as a 'great guy'. Williams explained that a journalist had asked Ruben a question immediately after a game. At that time, the players were still in the throes of adrenaline and in a particular frame of mind. Williams suggested that Ruben might have been caught off guard a bit. He praised Ruben's character and personality, which are well-known to all. According to Williams, Ruben said something after the game that probably attracted more attention. However, Williams confirmed that he was aware of being linked with the job at Oxford. He found it to be a great compliment, especially when considering Oxford's current success. He speculated that a conversation about him at Oxford might have sparked the link, which he found quite flattering. Despite this, Williams confirmed that he hadn't had any further contact, except with Ruben. He expressed his happiness and satisfaction with his current club, Notts County, where he works. He mentioned that they are trying to progress and move forward. When asked about his reaction to being the bookmaker's favourite for the Oxford job, Williams responded, "Well, look, I've been in football for a long time." He mentioned that he had spoken to friends in the past who had seen him as a favourite for certain roles or moving to certain clubs. However, he often found that he hadn't heard a single thing about these speculations. Williams believes that sometimes a conversation takes place at a club, and some of that information then gets taken away from that conversation to the wider world. This can lead to someone else making a bigger deal of it, perhaps in a 'Chinese whispers' type of scenario, but all in an innocent way. He acknowledged that there was likely some level of interest, which he found nice to know. However, he confirmed that there was nothing more meaningful than that. In focusing on his role, Williams has the opportunity to etch his name further in Notts County folklore. He has the chance to lead the club to new heights, to be remembered as a coach who stayed loyal in the face of temptation, who chose the love of a club over the lure of money. Ultimately, the allure of Notts County and Meadow Lane proves to be even stronger for Williams. His choice to remain with the club is a reflection of his character, dedication, and affection for the club. This decision also conveys a potent message about the importance of loyalty in a sport that is often overshadowed by financial considerations.
