How many of us on here watch England games? What's your views on England Internationals or International football as whole?Β

From a personal point of view I always tune in to watch England no matter the opponent or the form they're in. Even though it's an endless cycle of build up hope, get disappointed, moan and repeat.Β

However games against lesser nations where we're expected to get a comfortable result, even though I'm watching the games, I'm not fully tuned in to the game as much as I would be if it was a more competitive game whether it be bigger opposition or a major tournament.Β

I get the whole "you can only beat what's infront of you" but I'd much rather be seeing more competitive matches. The competitive games grab my interest just that bit more. But as I've said, I'll always tune in no matter the opposition.Β

The good thing about this qualification campaign is that it's a bit more competitive than we've had in the past. There's games where we're expected to win but there are also teams that could be a banana skin and England need to be on their toes to avoid that.Β

Maybe it's just the fact that for years we've had easy qualification campaigns only to fail in tournaments that's made me have these sort of opinions but I feel like international football as a whole would benefit from having a more competitive format which is why I'm a fan of the Nations League as it separates teams more suited to eachother to make it more competitive.

Even though I was disappointed in England getting relegated from the Nations League, it was good for England to actually have to work to try get a result.Β

What do you think the club’s future prospects are now that the club has made its return to the Football League? What are your personal beliefs about the club and what it has in store for the coming seasons?

The board will probably want to get Notts into the Championship within 5 years’ time. I don’t think they will publicly say this, but they must fancy their chances of gaining yet another promotion this upcoming League Two campaign with 3 automatic spaces and one via the playoffs. Personally, I would like to know Notts are comfortable within League One. I think spending a few years establishing this so that the club can compete in the Championship has to be the ultimate plan. What are your thoughts?

I was just wondering if anyone else has a favourite seat in their home or office that they always sit in and won’t let anyone else sit in. Maybe it’s a comfy armchair in the living room or a specific spot at the kitchen table. Whatever it is, do you have a special attachment to that seat and feel like it’s β€˜yours’?

Do you have a favourite seat that you won’t let anyone else sit in?

Should be a good game.

My first name is: Oliver, but you can call me Ollie.

I live in: Nottingham

I have supported Notts for: At least 24 years, I first attended Notts with my parents as a very young child.

When I visit Meadow Lane I sit in: KOP

My favourite player is: Jim O'Brien currently.

My first match was: Too young to remember.

I chose my username because: Proud to be from Nottingham, loyal to both the city and Notts County. The rest is obvious!

Everyone, we have a new member @rhodship66. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, do you support Notts?

β€œCouncil leader Mr Mellen apologisedΒ in the wake of the original decision not to host celebrations in the city, acknowledging it had not been the authority's "finest hour".

He said: "We accept we got it wrong by not staging an event for Notts County immediately after they secured their promotion, and we apologise again to them and their fans for that.

"It in no way diminishes how proud we are of them in securing a return back to where they belong."

The council said it was reviewing protocols for marking and celebrating significant sporting success.”

He’s dead right it wasn’t their finest hour, far from it, absolutely disgusting. I don’t blame the club for turning down a belated celebration.

I recently came across an interesting video on YouTube by Zealand, an American who makes great videos about football. Along with gaming videos, such as his Football Manager career series.

FC Heidenheim and Luton Town are two football clubs that have their own unique stories. FC Heidenheim is a more fairytale type story, while Luton Town has its own history and achievements. Both clubs have passionate fan bases and are worth following.

One for @DangerousSausageΒ and @Piethagoram.

FC Heidenheim 1846 is a German association football club from the city of Heidenheim, Baden-WΓΌrttemberg. The current day club was formed in 2007 through the separation of the football section from parent association Heidenheimer Sportbund, a larger sports club that has 5,800 members in 27 departments. The club’s origins go back to 14 August 1846, with the establishment of the gymnastics club Turngemeinde Heidenheim.

Imagine creating a time capsule for Notts County to be opened in 50 years. What items would you include to represent the club’s history, achievements, and current state? As a Notts County fan, what personal items or memories would you include?

Here’s what I would include in a Notts County time capsule. I would put last season’s home and away shirts in the capsule, along with some programs from the last 20 odd years. I would also include a picture of Jason Turner and a notebook explaining who he was and further stories about current squad members.

In addition to these items, I would also include a small Danish flag and a news clipping about the Reedtz Brothers taking over the club. As for personal items, I would include one of my PON features as a means to show my connection to Notts County.

To preserve the items in the time capsule, I would look into using airtight bags and conduct further research on how best to prevent degradation over time. I would bury the capsule in the KOP’s goalmouth, where it could be found by future generations of Notts County fans.

What items would best represent Notts County’s history and achievements? What photo of a current player or staff member would you include in the time capsule?

Fantastic news, this is from the club website:

New contract: Kyle Cameron

Captain extends Meadow Lane stay

Just now

Club captain Kyle Cameron has accepted our offer of a new two-year deal.

The 26-year-old defender was out of contract this summer after leading us to promotion at Wembley.

And our board of directors, together with head coach Luke Williams, are delighted to retain his services.

A statement reads: β€œKyle has been a crucial figure for the club since his arrival two years ago.

β€œNot only has he had a vital role as captain, but he’s also pivotal to how we play.

β€œKyle has a very unique skillset as a left-sided centre-back, being so comfortable on the ball, confident in progressing the play and consistent in delivering dangerous crosses into the box.

β€œHe was part of a defence that conceded only 42 goals last season and, by retaining him, we ensure continuation in personnel which we hope will lead to another defensively-sound campaign.

β€œWe also feel we can provide Kyle with the right platform and environment to continue his growth as a player and we’re excited to see how he performs over the next two seasons.”

I don’t travel to away matches these days but I wondered which ground you away travellers are most looking forward to attending and the reasons why.

Nice and friendly fans?

Great pubs nearby?

Good, pies, food etc?

Easy to get to?

At the end of every episode of Kammy and Ben's Proper Football Podcast, they ask their guests multiple questions and all they have to do is fill in the blanks. So I thought I'd give it a go on here with some added different questions.Β

Interested to get people's take on this.Β

I get that players have ambitions and want to further there careers but sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side. Brentford have progressed this season to narrowly miss out on a European place themselves. Is a move to Spurs really a step up given their record of trophyless seasons they've endured for many years?

From what I've heard Brentford are more than willing to let Raya leave and have set a price tag but none of the interested clubs seem willing on paying it.Β

Raya has been solid in goal for Brentford this season and there's a reason for such interest being shown in him but I think comments like this are unacceptable and basically makes the player sound like he's bigger and better than the club which should never be the case in any club.Β

Β

Paul Warne said David McGoldrick's exit from Derby County was a "spiritual" decision as he opened up on the striker's move to boyhood club Notts County.

McGoldrick turned down the offer of a new deal with the club to join the Magpies last weekend with the forward penning a two-year contract at Meadow Lane.

The former Sheffield United striker was a huge favourite atΒ Pride ParkΒ but the lure of returning to the club which kickstarted his career proved too difficult to resist in a move that was romance over finance.

McGoldrick was at Wembley to watch the Magpies regain their place in the Football League and he returned 19 years after his departure.

Warne said he had been trying to convince theΒ Derby'sΒ player of the season to stay since the turn of the year but after much deliberating, the forward decided to head home.

"I am sorry to see him go,"Β WarneΒ told Rams TV. "Since January I've been encouraging him to sign a contract. He will tell you this but he just wanted to get to the summer to see where he is at.

"At one stage I wasn't even sure he was going to play on. He had an amazing season. I wanted to keep him. We had a conversation at the training ground for about three hours about two to three weeks ago now.

"He wanted more time to think about it, but we had to put a deadline on it because it couldn't keep dragging out for either team in fairness. It wasn't a financial thing. It was a spiritual thing to play for his boyhood club.

"If Derby fans played for Bristol City and Derby came in, you'd want to go and play for Derby. It was the same for Didzy.

Notts are actively seeking to recruit a new CEO to replace Jason Turner who sadly passed away recently.

Whoever it is have big boots to fill.

I've just come on to PoN and see that today is the birthday of our very own 'International man of mystery' Happy birthdayΒ  @Fan of Big Tone.I hope you have a lovely day but don't crack the Guess whoΒ  topic. So come on folks,Β please acknowledge a landmark day forΒ  one of our most consistent(and am I really saying this) genuinely nice contributors .

I’m curious to know how you use the Pride of Nottingham and what you enjoy about it. I’ll share my own habits and thoughts first.

I try to visit most days, but sometimes I find it difficult to sit with my computer at the moment. The Pride of Nottingham is the source that keeps me feeling connected to Notts. Reading views on Notts is like having a third eye. I read what posters say and take it on board, but I also form my own opinion.

I like the topics about what members are doing in their lives. I feel this gives a good sense of community. Instead of just a username you may discuss Notts with, you see their real person and I encourage these types more.

I don’t have a routine as such. I will check the articles for new stories, but sometimes I go straight to my notifications. I try to post comments to at least 10 items per day. Sometimes, just out of enjoyment, I do quite a lot more. I try to add value in everything I write and I take pride in that. I enjoy seeing people reply to my discussions. It’s interesting to see and read members’ opinions.

What about you? What are your habits like? How many posts do you reply to on average? Do you read the articles? Do you read content and choose not to reply? How often do you visit per day?
