  • Good to see the confidence lifting, I didn't think much of that Dallas or Rooney - they should be a formidable team at this level but we kept them quiet.

I don't think Solihull really troubled Patterson, he looked calm and collected.

The atmosphere could've been better before we led the game but it was still amazing, great team performance.

basketball player in the second half!

Kyle Hudlin did far more in those minutes he had, than Andy Dallas or Adam Rooney combined. Not the effective switch, but he gave Notts something to think about. Kyle Wootton marking him, then going down due to the collision with Hudlin was a concerning few minutes.

It was more of a reference to his ridiculous 6ft 9inch size than footballing ability and Wootton handled him brilliantly, he just bullied him to the point that he never looked like scoring.

After a short break, we're back in action! As usual, predict the following fixtures, remember to use your jokers, and try not to beat me please :D kick-off is Saturday at 3!

  • Yeah, pleased with the result and the performance. Agree with IB post match comments that it was a shame we couldn't push on a get another goal. Now it's our turn to play at home, and given the draw is made tonight it could potentially be even more of an incentive if we draw either a L1 team (or Mansfield).

It showed that the gap to the NL and L2 isn't much if anything nowadays, I'm currently watching Dagenham v Salford just waiting for the 2nd round draw and although Salford are 1-0 up there's not a lot in it and it could easily be 1-1...

If we manage to get through against Rochdale it's Magpies v Owls...

Plymouth fans are angry with you ???? They drew at Wednesday so it's a replay at Home Park. I think Plymouth will win the replay but would prefer Wednesday because they would bring a big crowd to the Lane.

Notts are currently 5 points behind 1st place Boreham Wood after this past weekend's 1-0 victory over Grimsby Town.

The National League season so far has been at times unpredictable and, after the 3 defeats in a row, it did leave some questions to be asked by some supporters. However, confidence and form within the camp seems to be lifting - with some good and, predictably poor performances.

I think these types of results are something which will happen, yet Ian Burchnall does need to try to bring consistency to the performances - it should come with time.

I ask you, how do you feel right now? Do you feel Notts can crack on with the season now, or do you feel daunted by a tough run of fixtures coming up?

Was just missing the glamour of League Two, so had a look at the table. What on earth are Mansfield doing? Down in the relegation zone and without a win since about 1982. Are they missing their annual jollies to Meadow Lane?

I thought they might be onto something with a seasoned manager like Nigel Clough, but instead they're doing a passable impression of us. What's going on?

super ram and granny pie are two members who add a lighter side to pon, what with their comments about granny getting you with grannys walking sticks. some might not know that she is currently in hospital again. i think its grannys third time in 2021, i hope the doctors and nurses have gotten to the issue because i look forward to seeing grannys comments.

i am sending granny all of my love and i hope you are okay @super_ram, please let her know we are all sending our well wishes.

Hello
Just wanted to donate some money to the club but did not find any "Membership" on the website.

As you know I am Evertonian (and I hope you remember my story and why Notts County) but I really like Notts County. And as Evertonian I am not sure if it's good idea to buy any club merch but Everton's.

So what do you think if there are enough Notts supporters outside of Nottinghamshire or UK to provide Official Notts County Membership? Or it is there already and I just can't find it?
Thanks

Cox out at Scunthorpe......

Time for version 2 of the squad comparison, last seasons here:

Round 1: Taylor v Miller/Barnett

- Barnett was awful, so let's compare Taylor and Miller: Very different players.  Miller was excellent going forward with trickery and pace, but he was terrible defending and even as a wing back, he'd often leave you exposed. Taylor isn't as effective going forward as Miller, but still does a very good job.

I'm tempted to side with Taylor on this one, but perhaps a draw is fairer.

Verdict: Draw.

Round 2: Turner/Ellis v Cameron

- Turner was calamitous, we'll leave that there.

- Ellis was very good in the air and scored a lot of goals for us, being a menace in the box. Cameron is also excellent in the air, scores goals and is also much better with the ball at his feet. A better fit for the squad, too, allowing Rawlinson to operate as the central defender.

Verdict: Cameron.

Round 3: Reeves v Palmer

- Reeves began very well, but the chuckle-brother act with Doyle quickly became farcical. Whether that was tactics or two players that liked to play the same role, I do not know. He improved under Burchnall and I thought he could be a loss when he upped sticks to Stevenage.

- Palmer is excellent and more than capable of playing one or two levels above this. He's versatile too, he can play more advanced or in the deeper role.

Verdict: Palmer

Round 4: Wolfe/Griffiths v Vincent

- Now you could say that we haven't seen enough of Vincent to make a solid judgement call, but he's shown more in those 3 games than last seasons two loanees combined.

Verdict: Vincent.

Round 5: Enzio v Nemane

- Not entirely sure on this one. Nemane has shown glimpses but he's in and out of the squad. Enzio by the end of last season looked a shadow of his former self.

Verdict: Draw

Round 6: Knowles v Mitchell

- Knowles actually managed a few goals, and Mitchell has a couple thus far. Overall gameplay definitely goes to Mitchell, but I'm not entirely convinced he's the right option.

Verdict; Mitchell (just about)

Round 7: Doyle v Francis

- Now I know Doyle is still listed as a player, but in that role he provides, Francis just doesn't come close.

Verdict: Doyle

4-1 win to this seasons squad then, with 2 draws.

It seems inevitable that he will move higher at some point but if a club bids for him in January would you sell him? And how much is he worth? I think he’s got 1 ½ yrs left on his contract (so it runs until June 2023) and usually the shorter the contract length the cheaper a player’s value is, so if you wait until the summer would you get considerably less?

I think the only way he potentially stays here is if we get promoted this season, but a big bid in January would be hard to turn down…

Before you all start carving your pumpkins, there's another prediction league round to play. As usual, the fixtures all kick off at 3pm on Saturday, and remember your jokers!

Huddersfield Town v Millwall

Swansea City v Peterborough United

Cambridge United v AFC Wimbledon

Portsmouth v Bolton Wanderers

Barrow v Rochdale

Leyton Orient v Hartlepool United

Bromley v Halifax Town

Eastleigh v Maidenhead United

After a 7h journey back home, and sat low behind the goal, perhaps its not fair to give my own ratings
