Welcome @kop666, it's nice to see you've made your way onto our site. You should find the mobile skin quite flexible but you can always use the full version, it's pretty nifty of tablet devices.

I hope to see your input around our community, glad you joined mate. :)

How's that for a pair of signings?!

Welcome to the community @DamoMarshall and @4everapie, nice to see you both take the dive and join us. I really think you both will be big assets for our promotion push here, no matter how often you visit. I hope you both enjoy the site and I look forward to seeing you around and discussing NCFC with you.

Why not tell us a little about yourselves? COYP!

Sorry but it not enough, a striker was needed.

I thought you might all like to have a read of this.

The amount of workers with ATOS who have left and spoken up on their policies grows weekly.Β  Yet still this company receives a vast amount of money by the government...with extensive bonuses for everyone they decide is fit for work.Β  How is this a fair assessment on who can and can't work, and how long before even more end up homeless or living well below the poverty line before something is done about their practices?

The results in Div 1 went Notts way last night. Not only do Notts need to get results but at the moment they could do with teams around them in the table losing too. What are your thoughts?

1. Do we think we will bring anyone in today?

Β

2. Who do you think will be the big movers and shakers in the Championship and below?
Β

3. Big spenders in the PL?

Β

Β

For me, itsΒ

1. No.
2. No idea - Sheff Utd, QPR, Leicester, maybe?
3. Man City.

Anyone heard any good gossip/rumours?

Β

Anyone making the trip to Preston? I really want to go, mainly to support a friend and of course Notts but I don't think it's sensible really. It's a game I would have loved to have gone. I haven't been to Preston before, until last year I hadn't gone anywhere really. Hartlepool was my first away day.

Now's the time to cough up and let the PoN community know if you're going.

COYP!

Ps. Don't forget to add your thoughts here, especially if you do go - Match Thread.

Nothing as of yet's been confirmed with regards to Elliot Gibbons the Non League player who tweeted this.

Roberts, although he doesn't feel me with confidence - He did give a good interview, it's uncertain how he will fit into our squad and even he sounds to be a little unsure but he did say he's joined because of injuries and he's here to cover. His experience might help some of the youngsters we have, so there's that at least and if he was to help out as a coach, something he's denied it would also be an added bonus because we're short in this department. Poor Greg does do a lot of training/coaching!

Mullins, I am happy with but it was said we wouldn't be signing any more loan players and for me it strikes as a sign. I do feel that we are panicking a little but it's important we get signings.

How do you feel about these signings?

Spanish side Racing Santander's players have walked off the pitch refusing to play their Copa Del Ray quarter final against Real Sociadad in a protest over 4 months of unpaid wages. The ref blew for kick off but the Santander players just gathered in the centre circle. The ref asked if they were going to play, they said no, so the game was abandoned. Crazy scenes!

Notts County's Danny Haynes to join Hibs on loan

<!--url{0}--> Notts County forward Danny Haynes is on his way to Scotland to join Hibernian on loan.

The English League One club confirmed to BBC Scotland that the 26-year-old would be with the Scottish Premiership club for the rest of the season.

Haynes, who can play on the wing or up front, signed a three-year contract with County in the summer after leaving Charlton Athletic.

He has made 23 appearances for County this season, scoring four goals.

However, he has not found the net since October, has not started for the Magpies since early December and was placed on the transfer list by manager Shaun Derry earlier this month.

Haynes said on social media site Twitter: "Now on route to Scotland. Off on loan to Hibs for the rest of the season."

The paperwork for Haynes' move to the Scottish Premiership is not expected to be completed until Thursday.

First thing I'm going to type here, I do not want to see a repeat of our away game against them. I'll only accept if we start as we ended that game, 25+ minutes of domination but this time for the majority of the game. :P

It would be nice to see the flag in the Kop! I loved that at Peterborough and was it Bristol City last?

@sadlad how many Walsall fans do you see coming?

It should be a lively encounter, I like the type of football our opponents play but I think under Derry they will find us more of a match than the last time we played them. Very unlucky not to come back with 3 points but I won't dwell on past games!

Hopefully our resident saddler will tell us all about their threats and he's kindly agreed to do our Opposition View!

Thoughts?

Well done to the women (again)

1-0 to VfB at half time!!

Surprised by Holt though. I though he had potential and with hard work might have made the grade, but SD knows best.

Β

Notts County Football Club can confirm that development squad duo Jordan Holt and Callum Bennett have departed Meadow Lane.

Both playersÒ€ℒ contracts have expired this week and will not be renewed.

Β

Holt made a total of two first team appearances for the Magpies, whereas Bennett was named as an unused substitute on two occasions.

Β

Everyone at the club would like to thank Callum and Jordan for their efforts and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.Β

Rams are at home to yeovil tonight.A repeat of the early season reverse fixture would be nice. Why not listen on Radio Derby.Ed Dawes does the commentary aided by ex-Ram and ex-Magpie Craig Ramage.See how they compare to Uncle Colin.

I expect Notts to lose especially when not doing all that well, perfect example would be this season. Sometimes teams will play a lot better and exploit a team, though it bugs me that 'sorry' and 'apologies' come rather freely. I've read (and heard) enough to last me for the next 5 seasons. Whilst it's nice to know SD feels bad about it, I don't really want to hear something which means as much to me as a naughty child saying it for the sake of it.

Does anyone else expect to see them or want to hear it?

It could be me being grumpy I suppose, though words mean little in football and it's what you do on the pitch that ultimately matters. So we lost 1-5 or 1-6 depending where you look (even the official highlights have it as 1-6) LOL

Only time I would want to hear 'sorry' is if a player seriously let us down, you calling the fans - walking off the pitch etc. It's not like they stopped playing but they just didn't respond to Walsall's goals.

Thoughts?

Celtic's Callum McGregor 'making up for lost time' at Notts County

<!--url{0}--> On-loan Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor said adding to his goalscoring form for Notts County is all he considered doing during protracted negotiations about his future.

He started his second spell with Notts by netting his 13th goal of the season in Saturday's 5-1 loss to Walsall.

McGregor missed three games while a new loan agreement was being reached.
Too little, too late

Callum McGregor's 13th goal of the season for Notts County was no more than a consolation for the hosts, as Walsall were already 5-0 up when he struck with a free-kick on 61 minutes.

"I'm determined to make up for lost time and score a few more goals," the 20-year-old told BBC Radio Nottingham.

"I've had a great six months here. Everybody at the club has been excellent with me. I was enjoying my football as well, so I was determined to get back to try and keep that run going.

"It's been a tough month and I just tried to keep myself training, keep myself fit and hoped a deal went through."

The Scotland Under-21 international said he was aware that other clubs, including League One rivals Wolves, were interested in him, but insists he only envisioned returning to Meadow Lane.

"There was speculation about me going elsewhere, but for me I wanted to stay here and see out the season with Notts County because I was going so well," he said.

"There is nothing better as a player than when you are doing well and scoring goals - all you really want to do is keep that going."

I should apologise for not letting everyone know in the last round but this next round is taking place this Tuesday 26th January. It is a full programme of Football League fixtures, and there is a round for every full programme. We were meant to play Gillingham on Tuesday but it was moved forward to a Saturday before Christmas as we were both out of the FA Cup.

Β

This Tuesday's fixtures:
AFC Bournemouth v Huddersfield Town

Millwall v Sheffield Wednesday

Bradford City v Preston North End

Colchester United v Shrewsbury Town

Torquay United v Burton Albion

York City v Chesterfield

Paul Ince: Blackpool boss sacked after less than a year in charge

<!--url{0}--> Blackpool have sacked manager Paul Ince after less than a year in charge.

The 46-year-old was appointed in February 2013 following previous boss Michael Appleton's move to Blackburn.

The Seasiders were briefly top of the Championship this season after winning five of their opening six games, but have not won since 30 November.
Paul Ince factfile
David Beckham, Paul Ince and Paul Gascoigne

Made 730 senior appearances for eight clubs including West Ham, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Liverpool
Won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups during six-year spell at Old Trafford
Won 53 England caps and became the country's first black captain in 1993
Began managerial career at Macclesfield in 2006, keeping the club in the Football League
Won League Two title and Football League Trophy with MK Dons in 2008
Became first black British manager in the Premier League when taking over at Blackburn, but was sacked after 21 games

Ince's departure was confirmed in a brief club statement that also said midfielder Barry Ferguson will take charge of training on Thursday.

In October, Ince was given a five-match stadium ban by the Football Association, and he won only 12 out of 42 games as boss.

His last match was a 2-0 defeat at bottom club Barnsley on Saturday and his assistants, Alex Rae and Steve Thompson, have also left the club.

The Blackpool Supporters Association had taken a unanimous vote of no confidence in Ince on Monday evening.

And the BSA also produced a six-point letter to club chairman Karl Oyston, giving their view that Ince's position was "untenable" and that his "tactics, attitude and results has destroyed the morale of Blackpool fans".

The former Manchester United, Inter Milan, Liverpool and England midfielder previously managed Macclesfield Town, MK Dons, Blackburn Rovers and Notts County.

At Stadium MK he won the League Two title and Football League Trophy before being given a chance in the Premier League by Blackburn.

But Ince was sacked by the Ewood Park club after less than six months, having won only six out of 21 games in all competitions - and after leaving Notts County in April 2011, he was out of work for almost two years before joining Blackpool on a one-year rolling contract.

He was given the task of keeping the club in the Championship and met that target as they finished last season in 15th place, five points above the relegation zone.

But a poor run of recent form, which brought just two points from their last 12 games and an FA Cup third-round defeat at Bolton, prompted Oyston to relieve Ince of his post.

Ince's son Tom remains a Blackpool player despite being repeatedly linked with moves to other clubs, most recently Monaco.

I'm surprised so many games have been called off, I'm going to watch the Merseyside derby. It's on BT Sports :)

I think this has been covered before but does anyone have any particular superstition or ritual that they follow before going to the match or listening to the match.

Β

I would have said I didn't until last Saturday, when I leave the house for the match Mrs. H. usually says "I hope they win" (mainly because she know's if they don't I will be in a foul mood when I get back) but this Saturday she didn't, I got in the car and realised she hadn't said it so I had to go back and tell her to say it in case it brought bad luck.

Β

Not that it did much good, perhaps the reason they lost was because she didn't say it without being prompted.

Β

I hope she says it next time.

Β

What superstitions or rituals do you have?

Notts County can confirm that midfielder David Bell has left the club by mutual consent.

Bell, who moved to Meadow Lane in the summer, made 13 appearances for the club this season, with his last outing coming in the home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers in November.

Β

Notts would like to thank David for his efforts at the club and to wish him all the best for the future.
