The results in Div 1 went Notts way last night. Not only do Notts need to get results but at the moment they could do with teams around them in the table losing too. What are your thoughts?

I think we need to get back to enjoying our football.

The tactics need to be reviewed, for me perhaps the formation and the way we build in games. We never really attack via the centre of the park and I've spent far too long ranting about this but crossing doesn't work. It's highlighted by the fact we don't recall the last header we scored, the last time we scored from a corner and until last Saturday scoring from a free kick.

It's lucky that some results went our way, I still think we will be fine but I am concerned that we might go on a defeated run.

This would need to be avoided, as the task isn't easy but it can get better if we beat the teams we should and if we pick up points where ever possible. I don't think we're a relegation side, it's our setup up and woeful defending and when this is spot on usually we do ok.

Give up focusing on other clubs, this leads to mistakes and nervous situations. Focus on going forward and under Shaun Derry's inspiring character!

On paper Notts should be higher up the league but results  prove where you are!.At the moment Notts need all the luck that's going! That's why I hope the teams around Notts keep losing or drawing if they play each other. As you're always saying 'Every Liddle helps'

It's a massive psychological boost to keep out of the bottom four, we could have slipped back in last night. I agree with Joe about focusing on our own results though we can't rely on others but last night we didn't play so it was good to see others helping us.

Joe said we don't score from corners which is true but not only that but recently there has been at least two occasions when we've had a corner and the opposition have cleared it and gone straight down the other end and scored!

If you look at the league table today, you'd have to be worried:

Sheffield Utd 1 point behind. 3 games in hand. Better goal difference by 2.

Shrewsbury 1 point behind. 1 game in hand. Same goal difference.

Bristol City 3 points behind. 2 games in hand. Better goal difference by 4.

Stevenage 5 points behind. 3 games in hand. Worse goal difference by 9.

Every team in the division has played less games than us. Do I think we'll stay up? No I don't

You see why I say other results are important for Notts.Of course the simple solution is for Notts to win, win, win.Easier said than done!

need to stay positive, tho i cant blame you. i think notts will be safe but it will take a lot more determination to battle.

22nd I reckon. Stevenage and Shrewsbury will finish below us. We might get above Crewe as well.

Notts need to focus a little more, if we can get gary liddle back and fit. that will make a huge difference, even if he returns back to playing as a defender.

I still feel we will stay up, county will survive!

The key thing for me is that there just might be 4 poorer teams than us!

It is of some consolation, but we might well stay up because 4, of Brizzle, Stevenage, Tranmere, Crewe and Shrewsbury are more inconsistent and ineffective than we are.

I remain optimistic but nothing I see convinces me that we can sustain any sort of winning run, stop giving goals away, losing possession cheaply and failing to convert chances and half chances into goals.

We have a couple of decent performances then lapse back into mediocrity or worse. We are not where we are because this mob can play! We need to get the best out of a pretty average set of players and hope that someone other than McGregor can start finding the back of the net more regularly. Without his goals we would be finished already - not sure Showaddywaddy, Murray and Ball have enough between them to keep us safe tbh. Hope so, but we will be relying on those others to fail as much as controlling our own destiny for my money.

do you have anyone in mind that you would like to see us sign pies4u?

i think we are better than at least 6 other teams but it depends if we can get the results, i think we will be safe but derrys got to deal with the opposition a little more. his tactics are good, though he needs to notice how the game changes and give the players instructions to correct things.

Every slip up by the teams around us is a big bonus, but we cant hide from the fact that without Macs goals, we would be snookered. Even the mighty Enoch might not be able to pull us clear, but I hope this feeling is just a last weekend rebound. Maybe by Saturday at 5pm we'll have another 3 points and it all opens up again.

You should re-take up pipe smoking.

Not the slightest bothered by any of the fixtures, only the outcome on Preston vs Notts. I of course have to keep an eye on the results, as this effects fans who might be interested but personally, I do not. :)
