Fairly high rated player, good response from the Notts fans. I am hopeful we see some permanent signings in midfield but this would certainly be a start.
Thoughts?

Hi Guys,
I am compiling a new fans guide for the coming season and am after real fans views of which are the best pubs on match days for both home fans & visiting supporters.
Which are the "main pubs" for home fans around the ground..?
Can you let me know the best 5 or so around the ground please and any local establishments that particularly cater for and welcome visiting supporters - pubs, restaurants, parking facilities attractions etc.
Also, any suggestions of pubs that you have visited at other away grounds which are good for away supporters on match days would be great.
Many thanks
Rob

I haven't gone to this one, I decided it would be best to stay at home. I'm really unsure about taking Jake to their ground, although I've never had any issues from Stag fans (other than mouthing off) - I don't want Jake to witness any muppets.
The friendly should be okay though, I don't expect Mansfield to play dirty or anything.
I just hope fans see more from the starting 11 chosen, I also hope to see 'Kyle Dixon' start. After his performance at Arnold Town, it would be the ideal chance to show us fans how well he can play as a right back. It will be also interesting to see if Haynes starts? I don't know if he's carrying a knock or what but the game should make things a little clearer.
Result, narrow Notts win but it's about results in friendlies, I just would hate us to lose. I bet @Dan feels the same! ![]()

Operation went well, got to have catheter in for a week, got people coming in to show me how to insert them myself. Got to have them for a while. That should be fun. Otherwise I'm ok and dont need further surgery.

I've recently had a tropical fish tank as a birthday present and we have set it up with plants and rocks etc., we had to leave it a while before we could introduce the fish as the water has to have the right bacteria apparently.
Anyway the day came to go and buy the fish so we went to our local fish store and bought some lovely looking fish called Painted Glass Fish, they are about one inch long and have a lovely coloured stripe down the top of their back. We got 4 of them two with a red stripe, one orange and one green. All well and good, we took them home and put them in the tank, they looked lovely.
Later I decided to look them up on the internet and I found that the fish in their natural state are actually very plain but they are caught and injected with a dye (I kid you not), the fish are caught in their thousands but unfortunately around 80% of them die in the process of colouring them. They are then shipped to this country and lots more die at that stage. When you buy they it is likely that they won't survive long and the dye under their skin at best fade with time or at worst infect them and they will die young. ![]()
Had I known all this I wouldn't have bought the fish I think that the pet shop should have told me, there is no wonder the poor things are really nervous and spend a lot of the time hiding in the tank!
I now have learnt to research before I buy. I wonder how many people buy them and are totally unaware of the cruelty the fish have to endure before getting introduced to a home tank. I guess the pet shop sells them because there is the demand, they said they were really popular and sell like hot cakes.
On a brighter note you will be pleased to know I have also got some black and white striped fish, they are called Zebra Danio, I've got ten of them so I think I'll name them after the first team squad. ![]()

Field Mill is piss easy for me to get to. You can keep all this WC but you can't beat a matchday, even as a neutral!!

I hope everyone is enjoying this lovely weather. What are you all up to?
I've been busy catching up on computer work which has mounted up during my holiday but managing to get in the garden now and again to play with Grandson Freddie in the sunshine, trouble is he exhausts me, he is 2 and a real live wire.
Last Saturday we had a family BBQ, it was great to get all the grandchildren together, the weather was a bit cloudy but we managed to sit outside and eat our grub, we invited some friends to so there was quite a crowd of us, of course Mrs. H. got far too much food so we are now living off sausages and burgers for the rest of the week.
Sunday we took the grandchildren to Waterworld in Stoke, it's a great place for kids, quite expensive but its a whole days entertainment, lots of slides, flumes, rapids, waves, floating islands etc., It's about an hours drive so not too far.
Mrs. H. sits reading her kindle while I enjoy myself in the pool with the kids, great fun.

Well it's crept upon us ever so quickly, really - I almost forgot. I think I owe @cheeky~k8 a Thank You! (she reminded me).
Now we're approaching the new season, so it's time PoN get's back to the golden age and I will make sure I put the right amount of time in from here on. It's good to see members coming on and mixing, especially with it being quiet. I have to admit I usually would worry, though I've been spending a lot of time with my family and within another area that's kept me very busy.
Thank you to everyone who reads, posts and puts up with certain people who ramble on! (sorry). ![]()
Each contribution really is part of our foundation and without your support, especially within the past few months I doubt there would be such a community. Hopefully others will come back and join in again, if not I'll have to get the PoN Team onto them! Who needs the A-Team! I pity the fool who messes with Granny!
Okay, this month @hissingdwarf decided who deserves the award. He gives special mention to she I dare not say (basically it's not for me to say she didn't get awarded). It's hissingdwarf @GrannyPie! Honest ![]()
@Canadian - This feels very much like deja vu, however you're back and rightly so. You deserve the award for your dedication to PoN and although it's bronze, knowing you next time you'll be only back once again. Thank you for all your effort mate!

@Dana Shoup - The star on Facebook and Twitter, finally you've got the spotlight within the community. Really glad you joined us here mate, you talk sense and your views are always interesting. Plus we need to keep mixing where our overseas fans are from! Well Done buddy. Keep it up!

@Dripsey3 - No detention for you pal! You've done your homework, kept us updated with the World Cup and even entertained us with the prediction league for the WC! You've been busy and spotted by HissingDwarf. On a personal note, quite a few months now you deserved to be mentioned and somehow it hasn't happened but your contributions are vital (so keep posting). Good stuff! Onwards and Upwards ![]()

Well Done to all the Members of the Month!
Please take the time to spread the community spirit and congratulate all 3 members. YOU PIES!

I know this rumour has been around for a few days now, but this morning he terminated his Coventry contract by mutual consent, meaning they don't need to pay a whack to Sunderland when he hit 50 games. An excellent prospect and would be a better and younger version of Sheenan.
Hope SD and GA can pull this off as this would be a serious asset to the club.

Notts have signed a 28 year old midfielder Nicky Wroe on a two year deal.
Anyone seen him play?

What does everyone do about football shirts, do you buy the latest one every season or do you have a favourite that you stick to come what may.
I have a very treasured Notts shirt that my two sons bought me when I was 50, it has the number 50 on the back and the word Dad. Why is it so treasured? Because sadly my youngest son died tragically 14 months ago at the age of 31, so I will always keep that shirt and wear it with pride.
What's your favourite shirt or do you buy a new one every year?

As Carbrini have now been announced as our new kit supplier I wonder what we are going to get this time, I don't mean from a colour point of view I mean from a quality point of view.
Last seasons & the season before that's kits quality were absolutely shocking, if you wore / washed them more than 10 times the stitching started to come away, the crappy iron on logos both split then break off which when you are charging £45 quid is beyond a joke for me. As an example i have the tartan kit form way back and that has been washed & worn more than both the other kits put together yet it is still in better condition.
Then to top it all off some guy at Notts comes out & praises the quality of the old kits supplied from JD Sports, he obviously has never worn one!!

When are FIFA going to get real and ban him indefinitely?? Talent or not this creature is detestable, that is now THREE times he has committed the offence of Wounding With Intent, he has clearly shown that he needs sectioned under the mental health act as his habit / fetish is the taste of human flesh.
If it was me or you on the public park or more pertinently our children who did this what do you think the reaction / punishment would be?

Guys,
I'm currently working on my master thesis. I want to measure the effects of ownership models on the loyalty of football fans. As a fan I'm very concerned about the new developments in football and there hasn't been a lot of research on this topic. Remember that this is a theoretical approach; it doesn't quite catch the full picture. The goal of the thesis is to detect some strong effects that could be further analyzed in new research.
It will take 5-10 minutes of your time. I got the feeling this is a topic that concerns a lot of fans. So I would love to collect a few opinions on the matter as well.

I am (nearly) back, as I write this we are halfway between Roscoff, France and Plymouth using the ship's wifi.
The good news is that they are going to screen the England match on board the bad news is we will be disembarking around half time. I wonder if I can get through customs and to our hotel before the second half starts!
