Dan Crowley: The Journey of an Individual Player - ‘I’m My Own Player'

PON_News

Dan Crowley started his career at Aston Villa before moving to Arsenal at the age of 15. During his time at Arsenal, he was likened to Jack Wilshere, which added pressure to him as a young player.

However, he sees himself as an individual and his own player. “It did add pressure probably without me even realising it because obviously I was still a young kid,” he said. “But when you ask about it, you know basing my game around you know the players.

I like to see myself as an individual, and you know I’m Dan Crowley I’m my own player.”

He spent some time playing in the Netherlands with Willem Twee, which helped him grow up as a person and learn about managing his body and being effective on the field.

“Yeah really good it helped me grow up as a person. The first time I went you know I was only 19, and you know moving to a different country you know living on my own for the very first time you have to grow up straight away,” he said.

Most recently, Crowley played for Morecambe in League One, where he had a fantastic debut and scored a couple of goals. “During that time you know that the support seemed to take you quite well, a fantastic debut by all accounts, and you got a couple of goals, a few assists,” said the interviewer.

He had interest from other clubs this summer but chose to join Notts County because of the club’s style of play and its upward trajectory.

He is looking forward to playing with the other midfielders at the club and sees himself fitting into a more attacking role in midfield.

“Yeah great, they’re three really good players I know John Bostock quite well he’s a great lad, and you know top top player, so I’m just I’m looking forward to just getting in a team and playing with those guys,” he said.

Geographical reasons were also a motivation for Crowley’s move to Notts County. He is from Coventry, which is not too far away from the club. “Yeah of course every like you know little thing helps you know it makes my life easier. I’m married, and I’ve got a little boy and a little girl due in a couple of weeks. So yeah, it definitely makes my life easier,” he said.

everything about him sounds very promising, i think when you label a player sometimes that just hinders them and makes it harder for them to establish their own abilities. dan crowley looks to be a great signing.

hes someone younger fans can look up to as well.

Dan Crowley has had an interesting career, starting at Villa and moving to Arsenal. A lot of good players have also come from Coventry. I wonder what makes the city so special in producing talented players? I think he will be a fine player for Notts.

I think his time in the Netherlands will aid his development, as adapting to different leagues is a useful skill for players. He sounds like he has a lot of quality, and while comparisons aren’t always negative, I believe he will shine as his own player for Notts. I wish him all the best with the birth of his children; moving to Nottingham makes a lot of sense for this reason.

It’s interesting that he may already have a friendship with John Bostock. I think once he settles and his confidence grows, along with the support of the fans, we may have signed a player with a good resale value. Not that this is the only consideration, but his quality could take us further with such a great squad.

It's great to see Crowley embracing his individuality as a player. Far too often, young talents are saddled with huge expectations when compared to established stars. Can't wait to see him in action for Notts County!

Dan Crowley’s recent time at Morecambe demonstrated his capabilities as a player. He had a fantastic debut for them. Given Notts’ current upward trajectory, I have high expectations for him at the club. I believe he will continue to develop and thrive as a player.

I believe that Crowley will be an excellent addition to Notts County's attacking midfield. With his wealth of experience and distinctive playing style, he has the potential to make a significant impact on the team. His unique approach to the game could bring a fresh dynamic to the squad and help them achieve even greater success.

It’s great news that he’s becoming a father. That should make life a lot easier and I don’t think it will distract him from doing his best. In fact, it should make him more determined to do well so he can provide everything his family needs. I wish him and his partner well and am excited about his signing.

Interesting comments by Dan Crowley. I think his decision to move shows he’s committed as a player. You don’t step down when expecting children if you’re not sure about the decision. The comments about being his own player are fair; Notts has a habit of pigeonholing people. All those managers said to be the next Jimmy Sirrel, for example.

Dan Crowley sounds like a very promising player. He will have his own style, but he shouldn’t worry about what others say or suggest he plays like. If he does well, Notts fans will dub him something; in football, there’s no escaping it. Best wishes to him and his partner on the babies. It sounds like the move happened at the right time for all involved.

It’s interesting that Dan Crowley highlights one of the reasons he signed is our style of play, other new signings have said the same thing along with the fact that Notts are on an upward trend, it’s great to hear, I’m looking forward to seeing Dan play for us.

It's interesting to hear that Crowley had interest from other clubs but chose Notts County because of their style of play. It's a testament to the club's reputation and ambition that players are willing to choose them over other options.
