Much as I supported Craig Short as Notts manager...the signing of Ben Burgess still rankles

I wouldn’t worry about Luke going tbh. 
he’s obviously building something here that he knows will, in the long term be if it his career. You only have to look at how it went for Ian Burchnal to look how it can back fire. 
plus he’s on a long contract so any compensation will be SIGNIFICANT and possibly price him out of many jobs. 
 

anybody going into the Oxford job needs to get automatic promotion given where they currently sit. Big risks involved.

Does he still think we're mates after the way Trew treated him?

I thought there was a small chance that had Liam been offered the Bristol job then he might have taken it, given his history there and that he seemed to leave them on good terms.  He will be mentoned every time a vacancy comes up.  I am less concerned about him being tempted by Oxford.

Allow Craig Short the time to see if he can continue and if good results come, then perhaps they should allow him to find an assistant. He knows their current setup, which nobody else does and a new manager often changes things which takes time to settle.

I don't fear Luke Williams will be interested, I think the appointment they make might be underwhelming unless they stick with Short.

Hoping to see Short given the chance and to bring necessary changes. Oxford United does not need much direction, and he might just be the one to continue their current performances.

I think Craig Short was unfortunate during his time here. Many blamed him for dismantling the team that got us promoted, but I believe those decisions were made by others before he even took the job.
