Match Discussion: Game 30 - The Bluebirds (H)

We’re short of strategies in the midfield, hence everything has to be routed through the wings. Stuart Maynard’s first game was commendable, but I would have liked to see us attempt to convert the draw into a win earlier. By the time we made changes, it left little time for Sam Austin to participate as he had to coordinate with Aaron Nemane or Jodi Jones, instead of focusing on the centre.

  • So this is going to be the big game when Stuart takes charge of Notts for the first time. We have seen on other threads the footballingΒ  philosophy of Steve in action for Wealdsone and I'm sure he's g

Notts improved in the second half, but it wasn’t quite enough to secure a win. We needed a greater contribution from the entire team, not just Jodi Jones. The man of the match decision was fair. Aidan Baldwin had an excellent game, but Jones was more consistent in his role. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t score a second goal, but a draw is a decent result.

It was a good game, with both teams having chances. Barrow seemed vulnerable in the second half. We needed to be more courageous. I agree with many comments made earlier, so I won’t repeat them. We should have won. Jodi Jones tried hard to assist, but it was difficult with Barrow defending in numbers.
