Sir Charlie Palmer Day

I was a little too young when this game was played, I still remember being told and of course I remember the highlights. Over the years I was taught to wind up Forest friends by mentioning this, it's surprising how annoyed proper forest fans become by the fact that little old Notts had won them in this way.

Take a bow Sir Charlie Palmer! Wished I had have been there but still, looking forward to further comments if we get any more. :P

I wasn't there and to be honest I can't remember why I wasn't there but I remember being elated when I heard the result.

Happy Sir Charlie Palmer Day everyone. :happy banana::welldone::excited::clapping::cheerleader:

Perhaps it was work related? I've missed a lot due to that, especially when I worked in hospitality. I also tend to forget why I missed big games due to this, I'd put my money on that. ;)

Too young! Too young!!!

I must be getting on!

Great atmosphere and the place went ballistic. I was in the main stand and I think I must have hit the roof when it nestled in the net!.

Mick Walker, the best manager who was never allowed to manage!

I remember the game like it was yesterday!

I felt if anyone would clinch the points it would be them, the floating ball in and a quick reaction by the most likeliest person. Our younger fans go on about Bishs goal against city but this was wildfire, the response by all the magpies was something that I will no forget.

Right up there with our wins over 'that lot'(10 men,we only had 10 men-I just had to mention that) I remember long faces on certain people and huge grins on others  at work. 'My father-in-law was rather pleased too. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I wouldn't have been born but love watching the goal and seeing that famous image of Charlie Palmer running away, hands aloft, with the angry/long faced reds fans in the background.

My Dad was a massive red (although he also liked Notts) so he might well have been there, I'm not too sure.

Still hurts to think about the last Nottingham derby. If the game had ended 10 seconds earlier, we would have had Sir Lee Hughes :(
