Match Discussion: Game 1 - Super White Army (A)

My perspective is that if this was a future game, Notts would have been more persistent with their efforts on goal and would have won it on another day. With it being the first game of the season and the dust of the pre-season having settled, I do like what I see. You can see how more confidence in the defence will benefit Notts going forward with more time and effort.

I don’t feel disappointed or that the game was boring. It wasn’t the most exciting, but at the same time, it wasn’t dull.

It’s a typical first game of the season, where Notts showed some real quality in the second half. Just one of those chances could have paid off and made all the difference. I don’t think anyone should be complaining.

The changes did make a difference, but I thought some might have been made a bit earlier. I am not questioning Stuart Maynard’s decision. I am just saying that personally, I felt a change earlier could have influenced the game more with more time to go than we ended up with.

It was a solid draw, so no complaints.
