If you learn something from every game, there shall come a point in time, when you should never lose... Jimmy Sirrel

Just 98 appearances for 8 different clubs over a 7 year period. That statistic demonstrates to me that he was never fully settled at a club or simply wasn't good enough with the clubs he played for.

Lots of youth players look very good at youth level but never go on to make it at senior level.

His time at Notts was unspectacular too.

@Robbie we had a thing for signing players related to famous players, in some form or another. he was very poor from my memory. only good relation i can remember is thomas ince. he looked great and i wished we could have signed him whilst his dad was the manager. paul was a rubbish manager tho.

jack barmby was good, his dad was a very good player. it did not pass down.

Was half expecting to see Colt Construction listed on the wiki page as a club given he moved to America and played over there! ????

I’ve looked a few up, in their second division they have teams named El Paso Locomotive, Charleston Battery and Oakland Roots. They sound like industries not football teams!

He was a nice lad, but I don't think he had the drive to make a career within the EFL.

It wasn't so much his ability; I think he was quite nervous as a player and due to that he never pushed himself. I do think his time at Notts was a waste though. Being the son of a famous player has some weight, but I think an exceptional manager is needed to get the most out of players like Jack Barmby.
