Summer Transfer Rumours 2025!

It’s that time of year again, with no actual football to be discussed something has to fill all the sports websites... But don’t fret you can keep tabs and discuss all the latest Notts rumours (*that are usually wrong) here.

So far we’ve had; McGoldrick to MK? Jatta to Bolton? And now Matthew Dennis to Notts?

Dennis did play for MK Dons before signing for Carlisle, but yes could be a sign of poor journalism!

The return of Cal Roberts would be a too much of a risk for me. We know he is susceptible to injuries and whilst he had a very good season and scored 21 goals it was in the National League North. He's very skilful though but it's still hard to tell how he'd do in the EFL. And I would question where he fits in our current system, but that might be slightly tweaked under a new head coach.

i miss when we was not always linked to the rumours, it was good when we signed someone out of the blue. people are catching on and even though a fair portion tends to be just the rumour mill. how the club managed to keep things quiet made things more exciting. i dont know much about this player, i dont really remember liking any of their players, but that does not mean he would not be good here. just as a team i thought tranmere was poor.

Ollie Norburn

Another central midfielder with a recent injury record?

And he's still going through rehab. Is this a click bait story?

Now this would be a statement of intent

Oliver Norburn could have been an interesting signing 2 to 3 years ago, but he's not a goalscorer, and his injury record is a concern. I think this is classic TLW clickbait.

I would say the Football League World site is definitely more credible than someone just posting on social media, they had the story about us signing Matthew Dennis and back in January they reported that we were going to sign Whitaker, which we did... They certainly don’t just make things up.

Because of this I’d be inclined to think that holding talks Norburn is something the club has done, but I’m sure they’ll be other clubs interested in him too. I would’ve thought he was a little bit out of our league in terms of wages but I guess with Didzy leaving that makes this more of a possibility. He’s a decent League 1 player so he’d be a good/very good League 2 player.

As for Jamie Walker, only got 16 starts for Bradford this season I can't say I know much about him but if was really good surely he'd have started a lot more matches (and Bradford would've wanted to keep him).

Exclusive: Bromley open talks to sign Crystal Palace's Ol...

Bromley have opened talks to sign Crystal Palace striker Ola-Adebomi amid growing interest from rival EFL clubs.

We are one of the rivals according to this report. Clearly a talented young-player, perhaps a bit like Whitaker a touch raw but could become a really good player.

When you look at the scoring chart from last season in the SPFL most of the players are from Rangers and Celtic. Scored 1 less goal than Adam Idah in a team that got relegated so that is a good sign. Never quite sure about Scottish football though, the standard is hard to judge. Dalby went from not really scoring at Wrexham to scoring for Dundee, he got 15 for them. Equally Kristian Dennis who has scored a lot in League 2 went to St Mirren and only scored 3 goals.

Also didn’t realise that Noah Chilvers plays for them too, he’d solve our attacking midfield dilemma. I’d be in for both of them!

Wonder if he is related anyway with ex #Notts Liam Chilvers?

Ronan Hale is someone on my list called "The Notts files" which is a list of players in all positions I want Notts to either sign or keep an eye on for future recruitment purposes. I was also going to include him on my Twitter thread I made on July 8th 2024 of potential Macca replacements, but he was on the verge of signing for Ross County, so I didn't bother.

Would be a very good signing for us. Quick, clinical and very much in the Macca mold. However, I've seen that Reading, Wycombe and Luton want him as well, so we can pretty much admit defeat on that one.
