New signing Matthew Dennis

Featured Replies

He looks to be an exciting signing. He has great potential, he has pace, he's powerful, & it appears he can play in different positions that will suit Notts.

I'm sure that Notts will use him as an attacker, in an attacking midfield position & also on the wing.

His recruitment fits the Notts recruitment mantra. He is young, has potential, he can be used in different positions, & he's a free agent.

Although I'm excited by his signing I would love to see Notts mix the young with signing older experienced players, who I believe Notts need to maintain a promotion challenge.

I think we have a far more chance of creating chances for Matthew Dennis to score, a lot of goals that aren't wonder strikes tend to be easy tap-ins, or at least quite straightforward. I wouldn't read too much into his wiki, as he's young and players like Dennis need to settle. I have faith in the recruitment team, and as the first signing, I am happy with it.

This is a good opportunity for Dennis, as Carlisle is a long way from London, and his previous spell at MK Dons shouldn't be held against him. I hope some fans can reserve their judgement and just give him a chance.

A field where dreams become reality.

I think this signing confirms that we will be getting another coach. I'd much prefer a manager who picks his own players and has full control of how he wants to play. This experiment isn't going to end any time soon so we just have to suck it up. MD has potential. He did well under Mark Hughes. Hopefully we get the best out of him.

Who’s to say the new coach/manager isn’t already having a say in recruitment, Matthew Dennis came from Carlisle….. the ex Carlisle manager Mike Williamson is available, just saying.

You might be onto something there. He's a coach. He's available. He is from the area, well Stoke, but that isn't a million miles from Nottingham. As for his record, he got MK Dons into the playoffs but Crawley smashed them. As for Carlisle, he probably doesn't want to discuss that.....

A very solid first signing for next season. From a Carlisle United fan: "Dennis is a 6ft1, agile, quick, strong, striker, who's technically good and gets into good positions... They aren't common." That’ll do for me!

he looks a good signing, i think it shows that the club thought morias either was not good enough or his height was a concern. i hope we give dennis plenty of chance to showcase what he can do, a natural finisher with pace should thrive in our squad.
