Curtis Edwards leaves

It was on the cards unfortunately when he was missing from tonight's lineup. Another player that didn't appear to be in Martin Paterson's plans.

Proud to be a supporter for 58 years & counting of the oldest professional football club in the World. COYP

He must've been unhappy and Paterson probably let him know he wasn't going to play.

I wonder what his next move will be? Back to the NL? Or Scandinavia? He was a good ball player but L2 is too physical for him. Good luck to him anyway on his next stop

Shame, hope he goes to a good club (York?) where he can get plenty of games.

Last season we saw that there was a proper footballer in there, but he struggled badly after his injury.

I thought he had some promise playing the Palmer role, but we've got Palmer for that. Ultimately we've got too many players in that area who are too similar, so something had to give. Good luck to him!

He was really good when he first joined the team. He looked sharp and played well. But now the midfield is packed with loads of players, so it’s hard to see when he’ll get a chance to play. I don’t think he was quite the same last season after his injury. Being out for a while must’ve made it tough. He still tried his best, but I bet someone like him just wants to be on the pitch.

I hope he finds a new club soon where he can play more. He deserves a proper chance.

I wasn’t surprised at this news, as others have said we’ve got a lot of midfield players and Edwards was obviously down the pecking order somewhat so best for him and the club if he moves on.

I wish him well wherever he goes next.

Proud to be a Notts County Supporter for over 60 years.

Very odd to let him go after deadline day, so it couldn’t have been to make room for someone to come in. Can only assume that Robbo coming back to fitness had pushed him further down order, or a possible cost cutting measure.

He looked more than useful in the early stages last season. Energetic, combative and tidy on the ball - pity he got injured.

Clearly, he was not in MP’s plans do good luck to him, think he is good enough for L2 level football tbh. He could well end up back in Scandinavia but wherever he ends up, someone will get a decent player in my view.

The cascade of quality footballers down to EFL2 level, even well thought of players , playing in Scandinavia, struggle to find their feet at EFL2 level.

My abiding memory of Edwards would be the unnecessary back pass at Shrewsbury in the League Cup last season, which got the latter back into the game.

I couldn't see where he would fit in, even if Scott Robertson hadn't returned. Prior to his injury last season, I would have found it much easier, but he's been out of the first team during this campaign that I had almost forgotten about him. A National League team will pick him up; I am wondering if that will be Woking, or perhaps he will link back up with Stuart Maynard at York City?

Being able to play further up the pitch, or more centrally, did give him options, and I appreciate what he managed to do for us.

This would likely happen at the end of the season, if not sooner, and for that reason I am not all that surprised.

A field where dreams become reality.

I’m sad to see Curtis Edwards go. He was never quite the same, and it’s those early games that showed what he could’ve offered. The club’s gone in a new direction, and Edwards didn’t really take the chance to get stuck in. I don’t mean to be harsh, but it’s always tough when you’re passed over for loan signings and stronger players like Ollie Norburn.

It’s not a big loss, though I do respect the effort Curtis Edwards gave. He looked like a smart signing at first, which was a nice surprise. It’s a shame it didn’t work out, and in the end it felt like he was never meant to stay long.

i liked him, i thought he was good but i do agree he never seemed the same. i think he was more frozen out of the squad because the club wanted to inject more pace and thats the one area he is not all that blessed in. hes quick enough, but not all that fast and i think it shows how we need to get the best out of players even after injuries. i hope curtis edwards does well with his next club.

I feel like Curtis Edwards has caught us out twice. When he first arrived, there wasn’t much expectation, but he put in some good performances before getting injured. This season, he’s drifted out of the squad and ended up in the position many expected when he first signed. It’s a shame, because he did show promise early on.

His time playing abroad seemed like it might bring something different to the team, but we never really saw that side of him. It didn’t translate into anything special on the pitch. I don’t think it’s all down to Edwards. It feels more like Notts have shifted focus. The club’s priorities have changed, and that’s left him behind.

I’m sad to see Curtis Edwards leave. I don’t think we ever saw him at his best over a long spell, but early on he looked like a solid professional. Another club will benefit from having him, and I hope he feels proud to have played for us.
