This is an interesting signing. I don't think Luke has played a senior game in England? The lad has plenty of potential so there's that. He did well for Shelbourne. Raw but no shortage of effort. He won't shy away that's for sure.

It sounds like he’s one of those signings with an eye to develop and sell on in the future.

I think @Fan of Big Tone has hit the nail on the head. A promising young talent for developing and hopefully not selling. A building block in Notts County's future structure, looking long term. COYP

Pleased for the young lad but his acquisition is obviously for the future & he most probably hasn't been recruited to immediately strengthen the squad. Looking forward to seeing that happen.

Yes, welcome the signing and the player. Good luck to Luke Browne

Defence isn't an area of desperate need for us right now. When the inside-forward we're all waiting for arrives, he'll be a very different type of signing with more experience.

Hopefully this signing is and indication there is more to come. We are not desperate for defenders, but good business while the opportunity was there. Lets hope we now go and get players in where we definitely need them! Actually what we need are players that can hit the ground running and make the starting 11.

Happy to see him in. Obviously doesn't count towards the senior team registration places and with Rodders and Platt expiring in the summer, gives us time (like Jatta) to bed him in and get him up to speed.

Can't say I know anything about him, I'm very intrigued to see how he gets on and I've no idea what to expect really. The fact he was signed by Palace from Shelbourne after impressing them tells me he must have something about him though.

Hope he does well with us! The defence is the area where I see the least need to improve (we've got five really solid options for the back three, and hopefully six now), but this is hopefully a player we can develop and who can maybe step in and play a bigger role next season.

I don't want to give the wrong idea, or be taken out of context, but the most asked question I find being asked by fellow supporters on match days is why Luke Browne was signed (since he arrived it must have been said like 200 times by different people). Whilst, I have no idea and wouldn't be privy to the club's recruitment policy. I think it's more to balance the injuries, as we have seen Matty Platt, Rod McDonald, Lucas Ness and Lewis Macari out for spells.

Sonny Aljofree was recalled by Manchester United, not for the reason of injury but because he wasn't getting the game time they wanted. Notts really did need to sign someone for cover.

Without the signing, we'd have four centre backs according to the club's site and I can't think of anyone missed.

I don't know Luke Browne, I haven't heard of him before but I have faith that he would be capable of covering if needed and I welcome the signing because the defence is the area that we need to keep numbers in case of injuries or suspensions as we are blessed elsewhere.

In a recent interview MP said that he felt sorry for Luke Browne because he was great in training but he couldn’t find a place for him in the matchday squad. It seems we have lots of cover in defence and Luke will have to be patient and wait his turn.
