I'm not going to this one, I'll be at home tuning into the radio and mixing things up. I might actually manage to get into the chatroom! I missed the chance at Preston, my data signal was extremely poor.

I think Sheffield Wednesday will be much tougher for Notts. However, with the opening fixture nervous out the way we might actually create a surprise here. I don't know, I think it's likely to end in defeat which isn't really all that major. I'd rather focus on the F.A Cup and League, as the League Cup and JPT aren't really going to bring much into the club.

It would be great to see the pies continue their hard work from Saturday's game, I am sure they will.

Final result 3-1 to Sheffield Wednesday.

(Yet it could end in another draw being 2-2) :P

Thoughts?

On paper Sheff Wed should win easily but who knows how things will go. A good performance and no injuries and I will be happy

I know what we can expect, a battling performance with a lot of hard work.

The result would not bother me much at all, i always hope for a win but realistically this game will be harder. I am sure shaun will be making the players known who are the danger threats and setting them up well, his tactics worked nicely at preston.

it would be good just to see us progress further, at least for a couple of rounds. i am not all that bothered about the competition either and would rather us focus on the league but each little bit makes a difference. the confidence if we won would be a massive boost.

no predictions from me, i just hope they play well.

It depends on how both teams approach the game. Wednesday had a great win at Brighton on Saturday. I reckon they'll make quite a few changes for this one. I think we will too.

2-1 to them. Stevie May should start for them. He signed on Saturday from St Johnstone. 27 goals in 49 games last season. Scottish football isn't great but that's some record. I reckon he'll play and get both for them.

Even with the squad difficulties they have on paper they're stronger, although there's no reason why hard work couldn't pay off. We need to avoid any injuries or suspensions, lease we could do without.

Chris Maguire and Atdhe Nuhiu will be interesting to see how we cope against.

No denying it would be good, though it's an expense I wouldn't personally want to cost us in the end. If we go through, we just need to be careful.

Hopefully Saturday's performance will help.

Why are we worrying folks? We'll p*** all over them 4-0. No sweat ;)

LOL.... What about play-offs bud? Can we still make it if we do well in both the league and cup? :P

Will you be joining us for match chat Pies4u?

I'm going to be on my best behaviour today and join in. If what I am hearing about youngsters being given a run out, it would be fantastic to sneak the win and put one over the Owls. We don't seem to have much luck against them really, so it will be worth the change. :)

I shall be joining all those in the chat room, yes, indeed. See you later, as it were.

And Notts could soften The Owls up a bit for our next match.

It almost upon us, notts will have to battle bravely tonight. We are without some of our important players but those who come in should and can do a job.

2-0 now to the Owls.

I really hope my prediction is wrong, only two more goals required. COME ON NOTTS!

We are out, not really bothered tho

We are out, not really bothered tho

Always likely to have a difficult game against Wednesday, class opposition and a side we naturally always struggle against. They have a squad built around destroy sides like ours, tall, fast and powerful players. I don't expect them to finish highly in the Championship but always likely finish off any League One side.

I dont know what to make of this, I am disappointed to have travelled to see us not take this competition seriously. We have made 3 subs, none of the players who went off had played all that badly. Clearly trying to inject pace, we will lose by more than 3 goals!

Posted

its not that bad really, they are a decent side. much better than preston, tho i wished hollis had scored.

Lost away from home to a much bigger club with a much better squad operating on a much bigger budget than ourselves. No need to panic. To be honest, we could probably do without the cup distraction at this stage

Ar well lesson learned.
