Barnsley vs Notts County

Barnsley aren't doing how I thought, although with their financial problems I suspect that plays a lot on the situation they really can't be written off. They've got some players I would love to see at Notts and with it being at their ground, I see them wanting to turn things around.

A lot will depend on which Notts County turns up.

If the side we have seen the past few games, then I honestly believe we will win. If we turn up and stutter, I think it will be a totally different game and I am not expecting another high scoring game.

I'll say 0-1 Notts. Goal by Harrad.

Thoughts?

Lets get the results in quickly eh, before the nominations for manager of the month come through, this run keeps going, considering where he started from...

Derry deserves to be one of them.

I will say it is going to be tight, he will be working on the defensive frailties on show yesterday, and they will be wanting a win... Draw or narrow victory for me...

Hopefully the latter and another 3 points on our way to automatic :hyper:

After my prediction that we'd lose 1-0 against Crawley I am loathed to try again but here goes.

It will be a difficult game and Barnsley will be a sterner test, all runs come to an end some time and I think we will lose 2-0.

2-1 Notts. I hope we keep the attempts attacking style, but can't cut out all the mistakes in one day.

Bring on more goals please Notts

Barnsley played well enough against Peterborough yesterday. Their goal was set up by a 17 year old and scored by a 19 year old. They are a side in transition and we won't get a better chance to beat them. I think we'll overwhelm them in midfield and win by 1 or 2.

Will be tough game. I'll go with 1-1 draw, but would love nothing more than to be wrong. If we win I'll start getting too excited.

I think this is very likely, it will be a good result for Notts.

They're on their way down, We're on our way up!

Notts to bag at least 3 goals. and a Clean Sheet after Sat, Carroll will be upset about that.

Let the good times roll. Mrs PTID (thought I best mention her, it's been a while) has rushed through the washing to have the right pair of boxers ready....

Well I've arrived, pretty chilly but not to bad. I need to purchase some gloves that work with touchscreens.

Very poor start, both goals for them similar. Quality play but woeful from us, very hard to see us getting back into it.

Think Thompson's goal gives us some chance.

Get on level terms before half time.

Let this feeling continue. We need this after the last couple of seasons.

Time to eat your words, along with a slice of humble pie methinks @notts-joe.

Great win for Notts, it sounded really exciting on the radio, I know I shouldn't because a lot can happen BUT I am getting excited for this season. I normally go on holiday during the play offs but think I'll avoid booking anything for 2015 just in case.

Easy to say that when you cut my response.

Second half we played like a different side, we got tight and attacked. Whatever Derry said worked but anyone telling me we wasn't poor at the start needs to re watch the game.

Don't take offence mate, only having a bit of banter.

Uncle Colin said they were poor first half, so did SD in the after match interview.

Safe journey home.

What a result. WHAT. A RESULT. Bursting with pride in this team right now, that sums this side up perfectly - they're just never beaten are they? Such a transformation from last season's bunch of spineless gits, just fantastic!

Even I never would have dreamed we'd find oursleves 5th at any stage this season. It's early days and I'm not getting carried away but I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts! :D

Worth remembering a few things: It took us until January 11th to amass this many points last season. We've already gained as many points on the road as we did in the whole of last season, and the way I see it  - we're 10 points above the relegation zone and halfway to safety. Yeah, as Notts fans we start by staying up!

Can't wait for the second half of the season when I'll get to see a few more games. Sometimes it sucks living so far from gods own county. YOU PIES!!!!

Sorry, I was pretty snappy. It's not the best time right now, yesterday was quite something.

Taking the p**s now pies giving Barnsley a two goal start, brilliant result for you Pies!!!

We had quite an eventful game at our gaff, drew 3-3 at home to Fulham, the londoners equalising for the third time in the 90th minute!!

This side doesn't know when it's beaten.  Such character, such pride!  I've just seen a fantastic comment from a Barnsley fan on how our team were encouraging each other and making sure everyone kept their shape all through the game, and we had 11 captains on the field.  He said Derry must have been proud as punch.  It just goes to show how in the lower leagues, at least, character and togetherness, a team that will run through brick walls for each other, will still succeed over teams with flair and talent.  The world is our lobster!
