Notts complaint about billboard

Featured Replies

Posted

Notts County FC have complained about a billboard advertisement outside their ground, which they say is not in keeping with their "family ethos" and want it removed.

What do you think about this? Let us know but bear in mind when discussing this that we have all age groups on this forum so please keep it clean.

Proud to be a Notts County Supporter for over 60 years.

Good decision to have it taken down. Highly inappropriate in its innuendo meaning at a place where families are encouraged to meet.

Not even thinking about the ethics the poster is actually about, just the fact of the shock factor. Alot of publicity for them though. I guess that was their aim when designing it!

Notts are right. PETA do some good work but they do go too far sometimes. I bet I could find hundreds if not thousands of surveys that say dairy products are good for you.

Watch a documentary Milk? It's on Netflix.

Everyone knows these days milk, cheese and other dairy products can be bad. Not just for the fact its "fat" but for many, many other reasons. That said I eat cheese like a mouse and nothing puts me off from having milk with my cereal.

The billboard is stupid, not clever at all.

Peta should be ashamed of themselves but I do feel this should have been kept out the media.

Nothing wrong about complaining or wanting it down but I agree with Pies4u, it draws attention to it and if it's not removed well... erm.. yeah. I also thought Notts had control of it, I actually thought Notts used it for revenue.

A field where dreams become reality.

@Canadian OI... I live in the countryside, and we don't particularly want that smut out here either...;)

I would have thought with @PTID1862 wandering around wearing his dodgy Mac and talking about how big his express train is the countryside is polluted enough!

The club did the right thing by asking for it to be removed. As the billboard is on the same side of the fence as the ground, passers-by would be forgiven for thinking that the club is responsible for advertising there.

@Pies4u does have a point though, as an exile I would otherwise probably never have even seen the advert or heard of the PETA's campaign. Advetising like that is meant to shock and this plays into the PETA's hands nicely. Nevertheless the club did the right thing, we have a family-friendly image to look after.
