Yeovil Town vs Notts County

Well, listening to the Chairman's interview with Colin Slater yesterday, it highlighted a possible fact that if we win we may relegate Yeovil Town. It's a tough season for them, they reached a good height by making the Championship and it just shows how concerning it is to rush promotion without having the right things in place.

That said, I don't see them being any sort of a push over but I don't believe that us being able to relegate them will make them play any better either.

I think it's probably going to be a dull game, so for us it will be about us taking our chances.

Let's hope Moniz can hit the ground running and we show him the support required to move on, so we can move a way from relegation or at least have a proper crack at it. COYP!

1-2 Notts is my prediction...

Score Predictions? Thoughts?

New manager effect?

We have a poor enough record at Yeovil but this will be our best ever chance of putting that right. They are in freefall. Fleetwood crushed them on Monday. I think they will have to score at least twice to beat us. I don't see that happening. 1-1 I reckon. Bajner.

I also reckon we'll be in the same division as them next season....

Yeovil will also have a new manager tomorrow. Paul Sturrock

We should have this in the bag by a long way imo. RM knows what he wants. The one thing they haven't had all year. Confidence to go forward. The message go for it will come very loud this time. Can't say Paul Hart did a bad caretaker job. He steadied the ship, but they were never going to win playing that defensive. Time to throw everything at it and I think RM will do exactly that. 3-1 Notts.

Ay.... let em have it, and while we are at it... chuck in the kitchen sink...

we will win...(dont blame me if we dont)

Nothing less than three points will do from this one. If we don't come away from this one with all three points I'll accept we're going down. No excuses, we have to be beating these. There's a reason they are where they are, and their home record makes ours look half decent

Three other Saturday fixtures will have a big influence on Notts destiny this season-Coventry v Colchester, Crewe v Leyton Orient and Scunny v Crawley..

If we can't win this game then I can't see us winning any others!

im not confident, i dont have much faith in our new manager but i would like it to work.

paul hart seemed to going in the right direction, i would have allowed him to stay on because i feel we would have started winning games but lets see shall we? i have put this one down as a loss, which if happens i think it will confirm relegation at least in the long run.

1-0 to them.

Right its the big one never mind the battle to stay up i want ; REVENGE: for the attwell incident.2 1 notts today and good luck moniz :-)

Got to fancy us today - the Moniz effect. Apparentky, he has convinced our players that their team mates play in the same coloured shirts as they do and the idea of the game us to score goals. Should be an improvement imo.

Expect to see Williams and Spencer back too.

Come on you Piiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeees.

JCR is who we need back

I'm starting to become less and less confident about the game today, we need to start brightly. COYP!

I was right then! Williams & Spencer back, JCR on the bench - no Noble in squad, at all.

Think that is far more positive, not to mention slightly younger, line up than last week.

Dreadful first half. Hollis was dire and put us in major trouble with an own goal. Moniz changes made a big difference second half and Williams looked solid at the back. JCR showed us what we have been missing all season. Smith got better and better and of course Big Roy made some outstanding saves. If Ray means business then whatever league we're in next year, Roy must be signed up!

Can't believe how poor that was. Sadly I think we look a very fragile, beaten side thats absolutely destined for the drop. There's no spark, there's no real desire, there's just nothing at all. We barely deserved that draw. If it hadn't been for 3 or 4 great saves from Carroll they would have won the game quite comfortably.

There was so much wrong with that performance it's unreal. Why on every goal kick does Carroll give it to a defender who then gives it straight back to him?

Why is McCourt completely incapable of beating the first man from a set piece?
Why does JCR feel the need to try and beat all 11 players a couple of times before actually attempting a cross?

Why are we completely incapable of making a forward pass?

Why does it take us about 5 minutes to actually get close to the opposition penalty area when we're on the ball?

We never look a threat on the break as we'e a team of OAPS, wheras Yeovil did. Every time one of our lads had the ball there were 2 or 3 Yeovil shirts hassling him in an instant, whereas every time Yeovil had the ball we allowed them all the time in the world to do whatever he wanted. Nobody put a foot in, nothing. And when we did have the ball we just stopped. There was no movement, seemingly nobody wanted the ball,

We were playing against the worst side in the league, and it was them who looked up for it, full of confidence and actually going for the win. For us it was a must win game. I'm not naive enough to think we were gonna piss all over them, but I did at least expect us to go for it, and in the end we were lucky to come away with a point.

Haydn Hollis shouldn't be anywhere near the side. I'm sorry but he's a liability. Smith is well past his sell by date. Gary Jones was the only outfield player actually trying to make something happen.

We just continued to hoof it long to Jimmy Spencer who was being man marked and completely ineffective. No creativity at all.

I'd love to be proved wrong but if we can be that poor against the league's bottom club I don't see how we're getting enough points to survive. I'd really love to be proved wrong, I really would, but I just don't think we have it in us anymore.

@weymouthPIE did you see any differences from the way we played under previous regimes? Has anything already started to show through?

The style of play can only be changed over the summer. A new coach can only change the personnel and the attitude. Tuesday will be the litmus test in my view.

Not really but that was never going to be the case in his first game in charge I don't think, he won't be able to make a mark on the side properly until next season realistically, and sadly on yesterday's evidence he'll have to do it in league two.
