Ray Trew comments.

Sponsorship of any kind, provided its good is welcomed. If its longer than other clubs above our division I would like to know what they want for that investment. I do not see being a league two side warranting a high fee alone to have their name on our shirt.

I also wonder, will it be another of Ray's companies?

Exciting news mind.

I doubt it will be one of Ray's companies @AmericanPie, I read somewhere that Damian Irvine sealed the deal. I find it odd (but pleasing) to have such a big sponsorship deal following relegation. I think there are three possible explanations for this:

1. The ladies' team was used as a carrot. Appearing on the shirts of a top-flight ladies' team and possibly also in the women's FA Cup final would offer a sponsor better value for money.

2. The sponsorship deal includes naming rights for the ground.

or 3. A mickey-mouse company has offered us an amount of money they can't possibly afford for fast publicity. Think Aaron Scargill. For all the Trews' faults, I can't see them falling for that one.

All I'm saying is when will he learn, I don't question his passion or ambition but what is he thinking?

All i can say is we have made very good offers to 2 very good strikers and are waiting there decisions.

We have a "B" list of ones who would sign tomorrow but we are waiting to see how things develop. Dont be put off by the letter B because these players are still good - one even played in the Premiership last season

Can guarantee this comes back to bite him in the arse when we sign Lawrie Dudfield

I assume the Premiership striker will be younger than the two very good strikers linked, why not sign him and wait to see how the other two pan out? In my experience and opinion of being a Notts fan, two coming would be quite a surprise and pretty a first for us.

Do we need to very good strikers when we have Spencer and Murray? Does Moniz play to feature four upfront? ;)

No, it promising news and welcomed.

Plenty of question marks over Spencer and Murray. It's a good idea to have other options. Murray strikes me a one season wonder. Jimmy has come back from a serious injury and we don't know if this will affect him in the long run.

I wait with bated breath to see if any of the above mentioned things actually happen, we have been here before and until anything is official I will take it with a pinch of salt.

I wish Ray would wait until deals are done and dusted and then tell us the good news.

I do not see what is wrong with the comments to be honest, bar the signings because we don't know if they will sign but the squad is taking shape and it shows how the club is moving forward.
