Who would you REALLY want?

Assuming you had a magic wand, who in your wildest dreams would you want as Notts manager? The only caveat would be that they are alive and kicking.

For me it would be Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid. What he has achieved in the last few seasons, on a comparable shoestring to the likes of Barca and Real Madrid is IMHO nothing short of brilliant. He has built a squad of players who are organised, disciplined and will quite frankly run through brick walls for him. Also the fans love him, he's passionate and really cares about his players and the club. He has also proved their La Liga title and Champions League final were not a flash in the pan as his team continue to challenge strongly for both this season as well as the Copa del Rey in Spain.

The only negative would be him getting David Beckham sent off in the world cup finals but maybe we can put some of that down to our David's youthful petulance at the time!

Honestly I don't know, I have been reading up on contenders but it just feels disjointed at the minute. I'm also concerned about the magic word (stability).

I'll be happy if they have L1/L2 experience and a name for working with players.

Ricardo didn't seem able to work with certain players.

The next manager will have to, his job will involve finding out our best 11 and giving it chance to work.

Cooper is the only realistic runner I'm half interested though.

I'd have Steve Cotterill or Neil Warnock like a flash, it aint gonna happen but if I had a magic wand it would.

I know not many will say this but I thought Big Sam did a great job during his time at Notts.

If we could get anyone to come here, he would be within my top three.

I imagine the interviews going something like this:

'Would you be OK with Guy Branston as your boss'

'No'

'next'

....

Notts County appoint Coco the clown

It seems I missed read, yet to clarify I was carrying a Microwave whilst reading my phone. I get told off a fair bit by @cheeky~k8 for my use of technology LOL

If we could have anyone, I think I would opt for someone like Darren Ferguson or Nigel Clough.

Had we have used the wand to get us all the way to the Premier League (which is a nice dream but may change our club) - I would opt for Arsene Wenger. He's great with youngsters, not always but he's far better than some. He also knows how to develop players, whilst avoids silly fees but I do acknowledge in recent years he's dabbled and this is because many Arsenal fans want to be where they are currently.

Previous years I think they've always lack a defender/goal scorer and it just changes.

It sounds like us! (bar they play regularly well) haha..

Well as apparently we are down to a short list of three then it should now read something like this:

Jurgen Klopp

Martin O'Neill (with Roy Keane)

Ian Baraclough

The other five on the shortlist of 8 were:

Jose Mourinho (but doesn't know league 2)

Sir Alex Ferguson (but a Scotsman from Glasgow couldn't succeed in the fourth tier could he ;-)

Pep Guardiola (definitely doesn't know league 2)

Arsene Wenger (mentioned stability and working for the long term in his interview so unfortunately didn't make it to the final three)

Neil Warnock (walked into the interview room and soon walked out, personality clash with the recruitment specialist who had been delegated to do the interview.)
