Disillusioned with Notts

I would not say I am not bothered but I am disillusioned with matters at the minute. We have had two awful seasons, one being almost certain relegation and then the year after it was confirmed. Now this season seems to be a total farce!

After Moniz the club really had the chance to do the sensible thing.

Employing a unknown youth team coach does not breed confidence and its just split the fan base further. Yes, I think its the cheap option. Yes, I think we have alienated managers and yes, I think we could have done better. How do you feel? Are you disillusioned with the club at all?

I think 45 years of support have taken me past the 'disillusionment' stage, and plenty have suffered longer than I have!  Even though I'm very disappointed with the appointment of Fullarton I'd describe it more as a resigned acceptance.  You just know that if Notts can shoot themselves in the foot they usually will.  My view now is that it's happened and no amount of moaning will change it, so all we can do as supporters is get behind the team and manager, and hope and pray that Ray Trew has struck lucky for once!

There's different levels, I felt frustrated under CK - That was a very difficult season and it just seems to be the same old.

If anything, the appointment of Jamie Fullarton may see us actually reach some sort of backing from the board with regards to the manager (regarding dismissals). It's the only way things will start to change, as we cannot keep sacking them and letting go players each season. Then expect a new manager, a new squad to change things. I'm thankful for being able to bounce my thoughts out there!

Think I may take a break from Notts for a while. Obviously I would like us to win, but I'm not feeling the love at the moment

After Moniz was sacked I slipped into a deep pit of despair when they appointed Fullarton I slipped even further down the pit where I found it full of black sticky mud at the bottom, I've had one hell of a struggle to climb up the slippery sides of the pit but I'm getting there. I am now at the point where @Elite_pie has described I've decided that there's no use bleating about it now as its done so we might as well go down the lane give support as best we can and hope for a miracle.

at the end of the season I will review how I feel and then decide whether to renew my season ticket.

I'm very disappointed with the appointment of Fullerton, and although I have attended every home game this season I'm not sure if I will be there against Wimbledon, I've just lost all interest ????

I wouldn't use the word disillusioned, I would use the word embittered, for we have had a golden chance over the last few years to push on from the off pitch stability that the Trews have given us yet we only seem to make the same wrong choice time & time again.

i have been disillusioned with notts but i always try to be supportive, i think fullarton has to win the crowd over and his attitude is right about how we can do that. fans want to be winning games, so if he brings that it will pass.

ps. it looks like @erindoors is not happy yet again.

I'm happy enough ,thank you. However, I do think people should stop and think before posting threats and abuse. There's plenty of fanning the flames, too.  (I don't include you personally in that!)

Its all very disappointing.

A supporter wants to see a club progress and we have just gone backwards. Under Fullarton we may go forwards finally but actually believes that right now? I dont however much I would like that.

Once the constant sackings are over it may look up.

@liampie Its not all about winning.

where are the threats? who in this topic has been abusive?

i just see and read fans expressing their opinions because we care about the club. :ermm:

Please keep comments flowing around the discussion, you can discuss things and come together around a subject which may be considered negative. It's about being there, giving fans a place to express themselves and we can't always discuss matters which make us happy.

Hopefully you will @wacky but that is your decision.

I'm a firm believer that people should respect decisions like this, yes we need all the support we can find but sometimes people need breathers.

I never said anyone has posted a threat on here. They have other media. There's been some fanning of the flames, though! Perhaps you would see things differently if you were me? And it's good to hear fans opinions, though it can be disheartening to hear people will be choosing not to support the club for the time being. I do understand the reservations, and the appointments are not made as a poke in the eye to the loyal, but because we feel they are right, for whatever reasons, at the time.

I often hear "we were here long before the Trews came and will be here long after they've gone." Some will even suggest I'm not a supporter. Actually, I am, and i feel we should be welcoming all supporters, new and old alike. It does not make for a lesser supporter because they are young, or because they have recently found a passion for the club. It does not mean they (we ) care less.

Custodians leave for a variety of reasons, but that also does not mean they no longer support the club. Just that they no longer fund it.

None of this is specifically aimed at anyone, but will answer a few dm's that have come my way. I'm looking forward to our next phase. I'll be there supporting Notts with more passion than I probably ought, and I hope, you all will, too. COYP

Forgive me for being slow on the uptake being a novice on here, but I've only just realised who erindoors is.  I used to know her as Poundpie in a former life!  My take on things is simple:

I find this appointment very disappointing.

I will be at the next home game to support the team and manager.

I will definitely renew my ST in the summer, whoever the owners, manager and players are.

Anyone who makes threats or hurls abuse through any media are the scum of the earth.

I don't have a clue what a dm is.

My reservations regarding the new manager and his appointment are in a nutshell a frustration at the circumstances that surround Notts. Whilst we as a club are in probably the best off field shape we have ever been, we are lucky enough to have yourself and your husband who are putting the sums of money into the club that it has never seen before and we all know where this money could get the club.

Whilst it is a downright stupid statement to make that you & Ray put the money into the club just to appoint a numpty to see it all wasted, which by and large it has been by previous managers, I as a fan feel that at least from the outside we had managers applying for the position this time that I could actually see developing the club into a force to be reckoned with (ala Mark Cooper).

This raised the level of expectation within me as a fan, just like the general level has been ever since your tenure began and then to see all that expectation washed away (on face value at least) was too much to accept, I feel this was only worsened by the apparent PR event to convince us he is the right man.

Lets hope he is, I do hope though that this has gone a little way to explaining my frustrations with the appoointment

Oh and also apologise if I have crossed the line at any point.

BTW @erindoors Do you ever feel like a parent to roughly 7,500 kids by any chance??? ha ha

I think you've put that really well, it's a good explanation of the frustrations I suspect many have felt.  Yes, mistakes have been made. Not just by us, though.

Most of the expectations were raised by betting odds, not by us, I should say.

Yes, all the applicants were excellent. Maybe expectations were raised in the past. When I was more circumspect in my interview with media in close season, some quarters levelled discontent that I had not guaranteed an immediate promotion..others found that sensible. People care for their club and social media can influence opinion, judgement and expectation like never before. It's what we've become.

But there was no unusual PR event at all. We introduced the new Manager and had listened to the supporters concerns and knew to expect a reaction. But we still thought that he was the right person for the job.

Thanks again for your post. It is appreciated.

its a direct or private message. Usually used for issuing threats or abuse. Although I've had the odd pervy one, too. (and at my age! ;-) )

and good to know the club has your support, as ever, Elite. PP

Lets hope he is the right person for the job, I actually listened to his interview today and I can understand why you have the faith you do in him.

The reason for the PR statement was the interview with Julian Winter, whilst it was most probably the norm he, for me, came across as trying to hard to convince us that Jamie is the right man. Again we didn't sit in on the interview  so will never know just how good he was. Looking backwards anyone other than Jose Mourhino would have caused upset I think!!

Thank you once again for taking the time to have this conversation and please accept my apologies for any upset I may have caused.

If they are death threats or threats of violence take them to the Police as they are duty bound to act on them, and I know in my county they would do
