Are the Bookies Bonkers?

Crawley won 7 of their last 8 at home, and we've won 1 away all season yet were 5-4 favourites and Creepy are 21-10, Do they know something we don't ?

I must admit they are surprising odds, in fact Bet365 and Stan James are offering a tasty 9/4 on a Crawley win.  Using my betting head that means a modest investment on Crawley for me, even though I hope it's a losing bet.

What right do you have to tell me I'm wrong?  You're not my Granddaughter.

Smart bookies! Offer decent odds on the team that should be winning, knowing that the home team will more than likely win. Anyone with an ounce of sense will stay well clear of Notts on the road.

It's to get people to bet on Notts to win, so they make the money - rather than them losing it to a difficult bet.

The tricks to fool people who don't know how the odds work or who is really the favourite, I would be surprised if a Notts fan fell for it. Unless the person was very, very brave! I try not to bet on Notts.

The bookies have priced is at 5-4 because they have reasons to to think we will win, I don't think they are trying to trick anyone,

Go online to a proper betting site like Betfair and lay Notts like a man possessed.......then back them again in the 2nd half.......that's my plan anyway

I don't think bookies are bonkers, you don't see them queuing at food banks!

Punters who use bookies on the other hand......................

@liampie we managed to sneak that goal! Anyone who had placed a bet on Notts to win would be smiling right now.

I placed a bet on Crawley to win but still had a broad smile at 5pm on Saturday!

I layed Notts at those 2.4 on SMARKETS, giving me profit on Crawley and the Draw......then backed Notts at 3.35 at half-time to cover half my losses............what I should have done is balanced up for a £££ win overall....the trouble was I couldn't see Notts scoring.......next time I am definitely taking my profits

That should be a punishable offence!

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
