I feel sorry for him in a way, always seemed a player to play in a number of positions but one could never say he could be classed as an out and out specialist in any, when compared to other squad members he was competing with.

If you learn something from every game, there shall come a point in time, when you should never lose... Jimmy Sirrel

Can't he also play as a holding midfielder? We are desparately missing a midfield spoiler so it seems madness to let someone who can play that position go without at least giving him a go there. That said, there's not much point holding on to players who want to leave.

We should be looking to bring in at least two players - a 6 and an experienced CB.

I have fun discussing with people that Swerts isn't a bad player, it's the truth.

He should be in midfield, he has played in defence but with far better team mates around him. At right back he looked decent, centre back - he did okay but left back is what ruined is chances here. It wasn't fair and it's all down to Moniz, however the club would be making a huge mistake. I've spoken to Gill Swerts several times, he's passionate - at one of the friendlies his relatives was playing with my son (who he made a huge fuss off).

His skill is very good, he can play in multiple positions and he's someone who could do a job much higher than League Two.

I hope we keep him.

A field where dreams become reality.

I always thought Swerts would come good. It's a very difficult position playing in a holding midfielder/defensive role in a Moniz team as you were constantly made to look threatened, but such were the tactics.

His history in football suggests he is a very good player. I think it could be our loss if we let him leave.

Would be a shame to lose him, but he was a victim of versatility. We were told that Moniz originally wanted two players for every position, but that must have been lost in translation, because what he really wanted was one player who could play in two, three, or even four positions. Trouble is most players can't do that, as has been proven.
