Our new kit

Has anyone heard anything about whether we're having a new kit next season, and what it'll look like?

As we weren't even paying our bills at the back end of the season, I doubt anyone got around to sorting out a new kit, so it'll probably be an off-the-peg design. Which doesn't have to be a bad thing. Personally I'd like us to be rid of Carbrini (hate those shoulder patches - they look chavvy). Puma and Jako make smart-looking kits, I'd be happy with them.

I'd like to see stripes on the back of replica shirts please - we've had so many shirts ruined by ugly black/white squares on the back, that's the reason why I haven't bought one in years. Oh, and anyone with a loose grasp of our history should know that white shorts are a no-go!

Sorry to say this, but Lyn in the club shop told me we have another season of Carbrini. Dont know what the new design will be like tho.

It will as always be ridiculously late out and the sponsers logos etc won't last a season.

I have still got some old tops like the original tartan one that has been worn and washed at least 10 times what the past few seasons kits have been and it is in by far and away better condition.

I just want us to release our shirts before July and for them to lest more than 6 months

I don't understand why we release them so late! Last year Mr or Mrs T told me the designs get picked around September/October time, so surely the kits will already have been made ? So why wait till a week before the season starts to released them?

It makes no sense it really doesn't.

A couple of years ago i went to the last game of the season at Leeds with a mate and they released theirs that day, i spoke to a guy from their club shop and he said they sell more shirts when releasing them early than they do when they wait.

That's exactly what I was thinking, the longer they are for sale the more they are bound to sell

I didn't actually think about the timing, I was just curious as to what they'll look like. But you're both right, we should be releasing kits earlier. Sometimes it's understandable, but this time both the supplier and the sponsor remain the same, so there's really no excuse.

If it's Carbrini again, I can only hope for something that's not headache-inducing. The sponsor still has red on it though, so I might go for a retro shirt this time.

I haven't heard a sausage.

Now is the right time to be pushing it, other clubs are quick to do this but for me, it's one of the only downsides to having Carbrini - which is something out the clubs hands but they could promote promotional designs and tease us a little. I like Carbrini's designs and feel, they have a smart quality about them and I am not bothered about big names like Nike, Adidas or Puma. The quality is far better than the replica shirt of our championship winning season, the feel of that was quite poor but then, it cost £10 online via the Nike store and wasn't unique in design.

Perhaps the fact Carbrini design the shirt just for us is worth the wait?

But, I know a lot of complaints about stock/supply and the frustrations shared by people who rely on this. They may not be perfect but the pros outweigh the cons and I hope we hear some news of the shirts soon.

We've had two consecutive seasons of nice, straightforward kits - surely this means we're due some weird novel monstrosity like the white shirt of 11-12 or the Doppler / Everton mint abomination of 13-14? I wouldn't mind a black shirt with really thin stripes (so it's for all intents and purposes, a black top) to make us look kind of like the All Blacks.

Like hoops maybe? We've had them before...

it wont make a difference to me because i only buy a shirt every odd season but i do think the club should try to get things more quickly, it would have been nice to see things fall into place once sheridan had arrived. clubs like rotherham and so on managed to get theirs promoted and i just feel it helps to get the fans excited about the new season.

something we need at notts.

I am looking forward to seeing the new shirts. I wonder which previous design will the inspiration of this years? I hope its not pink or green. A nice shade of yellow would be very traditional for the away kit, keep the home thick black and white stripes.

Did @erindoors not say that the designs of the new shirt are done in advance?

I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of yellow in the home shirt, like ya know, in the Warnock era. When we had some success and a few trips to Wembley.

Yes, the shirts are designed well in advance. Almost as soon as they are issued, they ask us for ideas  for the following season. This is our last season under contract with JD. As soon as they give us delivery dates, we inform supporters on the OS.

A trim of gold or yellow would be very nice, I always loved my 'homebrew' shirt and the colour was used very nicely then.

Also, I like how we play homage to past designs but in a modern twist - I really liked last seasons blue shirt (for me it's one of the nicest) but @Italian Magpies probably wouldn't agree. I think we'll probably see a light blue shirt for the away kit, we have had a rainbow of colours of the past few season (which has been fun to see) and although I would like to see a yellow one myself, I just have a gut feeling a lighter shade of blue may be used.

Looking forward to seeing the shirts.
