Posted June 19, 20168 yr #1 He was great for us in his loan spells and think he would be a great signing in league 2, thoughts?
June 19, 20168 yr #3 don't get to excited were one of many teams in for him so Itl come down to money location and league status.

June 19, 20168 yr #8 I believe he trialed at Notts and maybe some other clubs before joining Oldham...... maybe chasing the pounds til the clock stopped?, we may never know
June 19, 20168 yr #9 it's all about money if another team offers him a extra 250 then we do hel go there. Money is the key factor
June 19, 20168 yr #10 There was always the scenario that Notts could have offered a good deal which his agent declined....he moves on to trial at another club...and then another club....Oldham may have been the last option in terms of time frame but ended up with a contract comparitive to their financial status.... just thoughts aired....

He never came back after the last time he was here, it was reported and alleged that he wanted too much money at the time and we was looking for a more experienced striker who could score goals - then he started banging the goals in for fun but that's the type of player he is. If you get him confident and man manage him - he's a very good striker but it doesn't really last and it also depends on the players around him.
June 20, 20168 yr #13 @notts-joe "we passed the option of signing him.." maybe his agent's wage demands were too high at that particular time so we moved on.
June 20, 20168 yr #14 I believe it was his wages, not the agents - I recall reading a comment about the demands being on par with someone else who was a preferred target at the time. Either way, it's not really worth going back on. I would welcome him back, if we can keep him settled - I believe he will score and have an impact, his pace will be useful but I just hope we don't push him into a wing or wide attacking role, he plays better in the centre of attack.
June 20, 20168 yr #15 why have we instantly dismissed signing ruben reid after he was linked, he is better than forte imo. would take either tho but forte may end up on the bench.

Also Pompey turned him away an they've wanted him for a while which makes you question is he as good as everyone bangs on about. He had one good game against us got dropped half way through plymouths season
June 30, 20168 yr #18 I wouldn't say no to forte coming back as he is a decent player, but he isnt a goal scorer, perhaps his pace could make him the perfect partner for Izale though ?

June 30, 20168 yr #23 but also is one of those 3 going to want to sit on the bench ? Is izale going to be happy sat on the bench come Saturday or likely throw a tantrum. Same for stead they will be on decent money and forte won't be exactly cheap
July 1, 20168 yr #24 We already have Gibson who is worthy of being given a chance this coming season. There was a story a month ago, of Stead attracting interest from Scotland yet he was still under contract? @wacky ..and when will Idle score away from home?
July 1, 20168 yr #25 Forte has always had a bit of an affection with Notts and I remember him not celebrating the other year when he scored against us. For some reason he has a far better record playing for us than anywhere else, so I am hoping that this will continue! McLeod will be moved on I would have thought.
