Izale McLeod has left the building:

He did score 10 goals, but surely he'll go down in history as a massive let-down. Will be interesting to see who comes in now, we're a bit short of options up front.

He'll be seen as that because of the fee paid, which was knee-jerk. I thought he'd do well, but his mentality has let him down. It's not like we weren't warned about this, Crawley knew well about it.

For me, what was most disappointing was his technical ability.  Far too many times was his first touch far too heavy, his ability to run at defences was limited and his connection play with midfielders or fellow strikers was all to often found lacking. He did have a knack of being in the right place at the right time, and he did score goals, but beyond that, there wasn't much else to his game.

A lot of people use the cliche 'a striker's job is to score goals and nothing else'. I think Izale Mcleod is an example of how that's not entirely accurate.  I'm not disappointed to see him go.

I think iam right in saying...mutual consent ....means paying up some or all of his contract.....but in this case surely he should be paying back monies to NCFC...?????

Indeed. It could range from 0 to all, but I reckon it will be in the 'some' range.

He's gone to Yeovil until the end of the season, if they haven't offered him the same amount we will most likely have to make up the shortfall

It's normally between 30 - 50%, either way he wasn't on chump change so the benefit to us will be big

Having seen him over the years, I was less enthused when he signed for us, especially when Raymondo paid a significant fee for his services ( upwards to 150k could have been better spent). I feel sorry for Ray that some of the strikers recruited to this club over the years have not lived up to their billing, .... Enoch, Danny Haynes, Cassidy (albeit on loan), Izale etc

Does this mean we can expect at least 1 arrival? Maybe a decent striker to compliment Jon Stead. One can hope.

Usually its no more than half of an existing deal, that is if both parties want out - otherwise it can be higher. I'm sure in our case it wasn't cheap.

The one thing in our favour regarding the termination of his contract is his immediate signing for Yeovil.  That deal must have been under negotiation for a while, so maybe he was more desperate than us.  We'll never know the details, but it's good news that it's finally been sorted, because he clearly had no future at Notts under Sheridan.

Glad to see it sorted at Last, didn't want an unhappy player in the building , and hopefully will give the manager a little to play with to strengthen , sure JS will use it better than previous managers of recent times , COYP

He could have been great if not for his attitude, when he first came in he looked really good but then he became lazy, only moniz ever got the best out of him and even that wasn't much
