Game 8 - The Robins (H)

Team: Cheltenham Town

Date: 17/09/16

Where: Whaddon Road

What line-up should John Sheridan opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

Not sure what to make of this one. Cheltenham are draw specialists. 4 out of 7. Only won 1 game. Lost 2. Scored 7. Conceded 7. Has all the signs of being a 1-1 draw you would think? I reckon Notts will win if they score more than 1 goal in this and I think they will. 1-2 I reckon.

@super_ram Further homework for you - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheltenham_Town_F.C.

If we don't get a good result here, then I am concerned that people will start to become frustrated. Notts have to avoid conceding so easily, actually playing to score would resolve some of this but I think we should expect a few more midfield wobbles - either that or we will smash them.

Im hoping to go to this one so hopefully I'll be bringing back the 3 points, but my confidence in notts is at an all time low at the moment, we have to stop conceding so easily, I'll go for a 2-1 notts, we will go down 1-0 then come back

I think this has the hallmarks of being either a 1-1, or a 1-0 game. We need to go there and pack the midfield in order to deny them space, especially early on in the game and although this will stifle us going forwards a bit we might get ahead and then maybe be able to hold on.

I worry heads will sink beyond redemption and that this season will become another long one.

If we win Saturday it will help avoid this.

Its low all round lad.

I am only going to away games now, I have a season ticket but my time is better spent. When Notts improve I will return but I do not think it will be any time soon. We may stagnate up to the January transfer window. John Sheridan needs to bench quite a few or insist better.

2-2 is my prediction.

I wasn't keen on the formation when I head it mentioned by BBC Radio Nottingham.

However, I can see and understand what John Sheridan is trying to do. It sounds like a decent game and however much Notts step off the gas, at least we are still performing. Pleased for Jon Stead to get his goal, we need to keep ahead. Get these points! COYP

2-1 Notts

not impressed by how we sound to be defending, i can see them scoring again.

need to score a third.

3-2 straight after they pulled level. sort the defence out and we may do much better!

Good win. Showed reliance. Good response to last week.

After they scored their second goal I didn't expect us to respond as quickly.

I didn't think the game would be over, as both sides seemed very likely to respond by scoring further but it sounded like several players really wanted the points today. Overall a much better performance by the sound of it, Mark Stallard mentioned various things about the defence but a winning formula will help breed a winning way. We just need to focus on giving teams a game at the end of the day.

We did this against Cheltenham who sounded like they are a reasonable League Two team.
