I don't usually care until we get passed the 2nd round, it's always quite a boring draw until it starts to attract heat.

I still look forward to the First Round draw, although a quick glance at the fixtures today doesn't offer much local interest. I wouldn't mind a trip to Buxton, just glad that Salford City won't be in the hat!

What right do you have to tell me I'm wrong?  You're not my Granddaughter.

I say someone in League Two. That way if it goes pear-shaped, it won't be too humiliating to have lost to a non-league team, but likewise it won't be as difficult as a League One team and the likelihood of going through is decent.

Spoken like a Pavis Stand regular of 50 years Joe - don't give us a non-league club then we can't be humiliated (again)!  Interestingly, three teams from Tier 8 of the football pyramid have made it to the first round draw - Hyde United, Ossett Town and Heybridge Swifts.  Given our league position and the 'entertainment value' we provided at Salford, a draw against any of them could well mean a live TV game.

@Elite_pieno trip to Buxton then...still remember our preseason match there a few years back, with Hughesie complaining about Curly Wurly's ? Gainsborough would be interesting with Jordan Richards...but Solihull would be good for me

As I'm in town on that weekend I'll take any draw at home, really don't care which. We'll have to beat some of the big guns on our way to Wembley after all ;)

Alternatively Gainsborough away would be a handy trip as long as they don't beat us!

Realistically it'll be away somewhere really tinpot (where is Shaw Lane Association?) or Wigan, who we played six times in the FA Cup in the 12 years up to 2010.

So it's Bristol Rovers at home.  Pretty good draw in my opinion, offering a chance to see how we fare against opposition from the league above.

It's alright, pretty standard draw to be fair.

It was always likely to be a side one above us or below, but Bristol Rovers are a reasonable team - I also do fancy our chances of getting into the next round. Ideally we should try to aim for a decent cup run this year, it would go along way towards helping us.

Plus I am delighted that it is at Meadow Lane, it's nice to be drawn at home for once!

Bristol Rovers is actually a good draw, mostly for the reasons highlighted above but it gives us a chance to set a level of expectation.

We always do poorly against lower teams.
