Should Notts rely on the loan market next season?

Featured Replies

Should we scrap using the loan system next season or do you think its worth exploring?

I feel loans should only be used to top up the squad rather than rely on them as we have during this campaign.

I think the recruitment under Kevin Nolan and Alan Hardy has been pretty good.

Personally, I think it would be foolish to avoid using the loan system as we are building a reputable name for developing players - I just can't wait to see our own lads coming through but right now we aren't in a position to avoid it completely. I do feel we need to be mindful of the Yates saga and the potential impact of losing players, the season we was doing well in League One, only to end up relegated is the perfect example.

A field where dreams become reality.

I have no issues with using the loan market when the players are better than what we have.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

We would be left behind by the other sides if we chose not to use it.

The only thing I would like to see change is that if you take a player on a season long loan, then there should not be a recall option. If they don't do that, then they should make loans 3 months maximum, or 16 league games. That way, clubs will know that the player has to go back after that time and can plan accordingly.

i think the loan system lets us sign players which normally would not consider us.

would jorge grant have signed the first time round if we had attempted to sign him permanently, no. it all depends on the players signed and how they do but i think kn and ah have a good system.

Not like this season. We need more permanent signings if we’re in league one. Plus whatever happens, we must sign Grant permanently. I feel Forest only gave him a new contract so they could sell him for money. If he didn’t have a good loan spell with us last season , Forest would have released him.
