Posted June 30, 20186 yr #1 So Argentina won’t be lifting the World Cup after a humbling 4-3 loss to France. Are you shocked about that or was that what you was expecting it.?
June 30, 20186 yr #2 They did much better today against France, the game itself was entertaining and they only narrowly lost in the end. I am pleased they have gone because it gives someone else a chance to win. Messi won't be collecting a winners medal after all.
June 30, 20186 yr #3 It was a great game I thought France were magnificent, they stand a good chance of winning the cup. Argentina are not the force they have been this time and deserved to go out.

At least the Argentina team weren't taken off the pitch by their captain and I was able to watch the match without having to spit blood into a bucket by my side, but that's another story from 1966.

Well in the morning I was with a mate when a toothache I had on and off for a day or two suddenly became absolute agony.and you will recall my phobia from a topic on here not so long ago.So to cut an already long story short my mate literally dragged me to his dentist to have the offending tooth extracted.I must say it was a much better experience than when I was taken to the dentist by my dad all those years earlier. My mate explained to the dentist about how scared I was and he did everything he could to re-assure me.He explained what was happening all the way through the procedure. He even got 2 of his lovely young assistants to hold my hand and talk to me and keep me calm.So there we are.,a bleeding gum, bucket and football on a Saturday afternoon almost 52 years ago.
July 1, 20186 yr #7 I have caught the highlights, both teams took their goals well and it could have ended up either way. I am glad France have progressed, they're the better nation from the two. Messi and Ronaldo both exit on the same day, who'd have thought that.

Yes @Fan of Big Tonethe entire staff were polite, warm and friendly.Everywhere was bright and welcoming,a complete contrast to the previous dentists which was dingy, miserable and threatening, especially for a young child.
July 1, 20186 yr #10 Wasn't you at Blackpool during the final @super_ram? I remember you saying you was getting your hair cut, but I swear you also used to tell me that you had gone to the seaside or am I muddling two stories together? It could have been France exited yesterday, they defended very poorly (as did both teams in truth). I'm pleased Argentina have gone, they never deserved to progress in the first place.

Myself and 4 or 5 mates went to Blackpool on 30th July 1966,the day of the World Cup final, travelling by Trent Bus.Kick off was 3PM. At 1 o'clock we were stuck in traffic outside Deepdale ,the home of Preston North End.We eventually arrived at Blackpool bus station ,which is near Blackpool's ground, at about 2.30.Our digs were near the tower, a fair walk away.So we had to hurry with our suitcases along the busy pavements. When we arrived at our boarding house we introduced ourselves to the hosts and asked to be directed to the TV lounge rather than our rooms. On entering the lounge we found the national anthem being played and booed. It turned out the room was half full of holidaying Scots lads who were supporting Germany. The rest ,as they say ,is history and we had a great night celebrating.
July 1, 20186 yr #12 glad they have gone, i hope england can really go for it now because their odds must be increasing by the game. if we can just cause columbia trouble we can avoid things from getting messi.
