What makes a match day for you?

I have suddenly realised that once upon a time I went to Meadow Lane and I would go with my family, then I would return home. Usually after seeing a woeful display but feeling humbled by being a fan of a club like Notts. Once my wife stopped attending, I found myself taking my children and I quickly felt I had to get out of the Pavis Stand as I could stand it.

After @super_pie had a grumpy old git threaten him (as a very young child), I moved into the Kop and I mostly love it.

Now I have a routine with @Magic magpie, Jake and Callum. We go for something to eat before, we share laughs and discuss the game ahead. Sometimes we manage to go for a drink before but this all depends on how we feel, I enjoy seeing people I know and this makes the match day more enjoyable - especially with seasons like this.

The away games tends to allow me to see people I would not otherwise and I wished I felt well enough to travel more. I tend to fall asleep a lot due to being tired or getting headaches.

But home games for me are about feeling optimistic, or when nervous just trying to enjoy it.

The people I'm with makes my match day, I like going with them and I hope my wife will come once the weather warms up.

Match Day and what makes it for me is sharing the day with my daughter these days , when we can get as it’s not easy at the moment , it would start with a simple WhatsApp chat a pic sent in my notts shirt and wait for my daughter to pic me up , we’ll chat on route about everyday stuff then our focus turns to the match .

We may get a drink in the navigation, make our way in , take our seat in the kop , enjoy the banter between fans and our nervous excitement kicks in , we love it when the kop is in full cry and we thoroughly join in , win lose or draw we give our support and enjoy our father/daughter time at the footie .

A day when the boys go to football and me and my girls get to do whatever we want 😂

I drive down, go in, watch and leave. I don't often have a drink before but on occasions I need one after!

My matchday is just like @Chris we meet up first with Callum while @super_pie is with Chris get the bus head to town get something to eat then head to the ground to watch the game sometimes have a drink and catch up before hand. Then at half time catch up with a few people simo Paul and Geoff and Melvin. Then at the end get some thing signed if we need to them depending on the weather go home or a gonfor a drink. That’s a good match day for me. ☺️

This makes me miss match days!

Well I will be at the Tranmere game on Saturday, I am in Nottingham for a few weeks until the new year. I hope the match day experience is good as it's been awhile since I last stepped foot on Meadow Lane.

I value match day home or away as its time I get to spend with my family (Mum & Dad). Sometimes my sister comes but she's not too fussed. I enjoy coming to football as we do enjoy coming and talking about it even though we are not doing great at the moment. Match day starts with a drive down from Sutton-in-Ashfield to get to the ground for around 2pm. We then go straight to the turnstiles and meet up our good friend Jon Marshall for a pint at every home game. Slowly becoming tradition. We then go up about 2:50 to get our seats and look at the lineups and other games in the league.

Then we sit and watch the horror that is Notts County. But wouldn't change it for the world.

i just go and come back.

i like getting something to eat on the way in just before the game starts, i listen to the comments and conversations around me and wonder if any of them are members here. i go for the football and this season has been quite poor but its still been something i look forward to.
