Leaving Neverland

Child abuse is a very, very serious thing but I have been compelled to watch the recently released "Leaving Neverland" documentary and I'm taken back. What does other PON members think?

"Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."

i dont think the documentary really does anything, it seems about money and attention. rather than issues. i would cringe if they did a documentary interviewing people abused by jimmy saville or the aussie artist whos name i forget.

I’ve not watched it but I’ve heard about the program and what it contains. The videos going round on social media about this programme is almost silly. Its a subject that needs to be treated correctly because it’s people’s life they are showing and getting involved in. I don’t Think I’ll watch the program though

I've watched the first part, I find it to be misleading and the more research you do - the more it all becomes quite dubious.

I grew up believing the allegations, I disliked Michael's music for this reason, but after his death, I watched many documentaries which revealed a different side. I find the documentary to be something that skirts around the issue, however, openly mentions disturbing and graphical events. If it's true, I feel this is the wrong way to go about things and I don't think it would be the normal way to handle it.

It's very one sided, the emotion it tries to give is typical of something that doesn't have evidence too.

A field where dreams become reality.

I haven't seen it, I can't comment as such on the nature of the documentary. I do feel Michael Jackson was a very strange character who's unhealthy relationship with the media never really helped him.

I would add it's strange for the allegations to have been made via this way though.
