living with covid19

at what point do we start to form a plan on living with covid19?

i know theres a lot of danger, not just to people with underlined conditions. with the uk looking to be heading into another lockdown, i do wonder if we could learn to live with it? to some degree we are now.

biggest issue i see is the morons who think its a joke, or ignore the guidelines.

the amount of people who vape and blow their smoke towards you, its going to take a lot more awareness and consideration.

Until there's a cure/vaccine, every nation has to learn how to live with it.

If the UK actually closed properly during the lockdown, stopping flights and kept the borders restricted the virus could have been starved.

Every nation has a duty to fight it.

This will be around for at a few years I feel, living with it and, allowing the vulnerable to self-isolate is the way forward. After this "second wave", more needs to be done in order to get to grips with it.

I think my school will be closed before the end of the week, there's been a number of cases and some of my teachers have been confirmed as having COVID19.

How do you live with it as a young person?

The work sent out during the lockdown doesn't compare to what we do in a school environment.

@Joshua thats a fair point raised, but school will have to close if they cannot manage the outbreaks.

from what i have seen there barely no social distancing with people at school, i know this come across as a generalisation but i dont mean it like that. just my personal observation kids still act the same as they did before covid19 and thats an issue.

it might be different in other parts of the uk.

To an extent that's what we're doing already. The problem I have with the "let's live with the virus" talk is that it entails older and vulnerable people basically locking themselves away indefinitely so that everyone else can continue going to the pub and getting bladdered (or whatever).

For now, we'll have to carry on with the masks and the distancing and remember that we all carry a responsibility towards each other. Once there's a vaccine and/or a treatment for the more vulnerable people among us we can start rolling back the restrictions again. It probably won't help us much this winter though :(

We're also going to learn which measures are sensible and which aren't, and that'll hopefully help us fight it better. It seems that masks are more effective than disinfecting surfaces - we didn't know that at the time, but we do now. As for having crowds back at football matches, the government, clubs and fans will have to consider the risks involved. Even now I don't think having 100 people standing outside at a non-league game is much of a risk. Having 50% of grounds open will probably be too much of a risk right now, but if there are effective treatments the picture changes again.

I am sick of it though. Just give me Putin's corona jab. I don't care if it makes me a genetically ruined mutant.

I don't think life can continue without key workers and, most regular jobs having measures in place to minimise the spread of COVID19.

I realise that this is happening to an extent as @DangerousSausage has mentioned, but it's nowhere near to being effective. If I feel unwell, I am mindful that it could be the start of something. I thought the other day that I was coming down with the flu, as my throat hurt from being sore and, I started to feel very drained but thankfully I just had an off day. I have to be mindful of my parents, especially @GrannyPie - I won't visit if I remotely feel unwell.

Whereas in the past, I would go round but I would limit my contact and, sometimes you didn't have to have second thoughts over anything.

The majority of people might be doing well to minimise it, it could be the exceptions - it could also be the other way around.

I do feel there's a lot more that could be done to reduce it.

If another lockdown happens, I would like to see flights etc, all stopped.

Stricter fines for those who break the guidelines, I mean, @cheeky~k8 told me the other day that in the news a takeaway place had been fined 1k I think for surving someone who had ordered a burger [if I remember right] just 4 minutes after 10pm.

That's too extreme, I mean my neighbours have hardly abided by the rules. As didn't some others round here, life just continued for them and the most alarming in thing is some are NHS staff members. 😕

Whilst some managed to work from home or take up self isolation, I still had to work and my hours increased because of the demand idiots put on Morrisons due to panic buying. I've been living with COVID19, I won't complain about work as it was nice to feel as if I made some difference in the world.

Yeah, that's a point but some are distancing.

My school has mostly stuck to keeping years in groups, with forms only being together.
