  1. I was torn between Nick Tsaroulla and Scott Robertson, but my vote was persuaded by how the player's removal from the squad would impact the team. For that reason, I had to vote for Robertson, but I did think Tsaroulla was brilliant. I think there could have been two more very close to obtaining my consideration, with several others having played well, but I narrowed it down to these two. But I actually thought Jacob Bedeau was more like his old self, yes a few mistakes, but very reliable and looking more focused. Players will make mistakes, but they made up for them by defending much better at key points.

  9. A massive win for Notts tonight against an inform team. This win takes Notts into a promotion place in League 2 for the first time this season. Notts had a brilliant first half & could have been double their actual lead at half time. Cheltenham came back into it in the 2nd half but Notts held out for that vital win. So who is your man of the match for Notts? I have chosen the starting eleven for you to make your choice from. Those players are, Roos, Macari, Ness Bedeau, Tsaroulla, Robertson, Iorpenda, Bennetts, Grant, Hall, Jatta.
  10. Notts are the form team of League 2. 7 wins & 1 draw from their last 10 matches. 4 wins in their last 5 is very impressive. The team is starting to play for each other. They are the third joint highest scorers in the league with 27 goals with the 2nd highest goal difference, 18 of those goals in the last 10 games. Things are beginning to click for Martin Paterson. We saw too sides of Notts against Cheltenham, a side that can play attractive incisive football like we saw in the first half, & a side that can work hard to keep their lead when they have to defend. We also witnessed a Notts team without three of their best players against Cheltenham, however the players that came in for them slotted into their roles so well & the team still gave a very strong performance despite those missing players. So it appears to me that the Notts squad is now beginning to gel together so well as a team. Football is a team game & if individuals begin to know how their fellow team members play, their positioning & their runs off the ball, team performance can invariably improve. So I think a lot of the improvement is down to this. Thoughts?
  11. Yes I think you might be right @Robbie . Certainly in the Cheltenham game we played with a higher tempo, possibly due to the fact that they know where their team mates will make runs etc.
  12. I thought it was an all round team effort,no obvious poor displays and all man of the match contenders, including manager

  19. Nick Tsaroulla for me too, I thought he was class!
  20. I saw after the match Jatta and Hall being interviewed for Sky and I think Hall carried a trophy away. I’d have Jatta, Hall and Robertson as my top 3. Could make a case for all of them really, but I think Robbo just shaded it for me.
  21. nick tsaroulla for me, he was brilliant and was unlucky not to score from his diving header. he also played a part in keeping us safe, with two very important challenges.
  22. It was great performance in the first half with lots of players standing out. Hall's goal was well taken, Jatta scored another poachers goal, Grant & Iorpenda were very good. The defensive unit of Ness, Macari & Bedeau were solid once again. Tsaroula did what he does best & I think Bennetts had his best game for Notts But my Man of the Match is going to go to Scott Robertson for his outstanding display
  23. Robbo for me, energetic & involved all night. He’s combative and creative, a very solid 99 mins from him. Ness & Bedeau didn’t do much wrong and Iorpenda had an excellent 1st half too. They were all in with a shout but Robbo just seemed more influential in both halves of the pitch and over the whole game fir my money. Hall was often clumsy on the ball but he scored and looked a bit sharper in the last 20 mins. Jatta was busy, scored but his 1st touch let him down too often.
  24. Quite a few good performances, Robertson, Hall, Bennett’s but my vote goes to Jatta who ran non stop for the team and scored a good goal. It’s 5 in 4 games now, excellent stuff, I hope we can keep him in January.
  25. One thing I've noticed on these threads is how many different MoM performers we get. Yes, we get the multiple winners like Palmer, McDonald and Jatta, but so many others are capable of being the best player on any given day.
  26. Some great performances tonight. I thought Ness was excellent. Vindicated MP sticking with him over Platt. Jatta's formula of goal + great hold up play + defensive work would usually win MoM... But my vote's for Robertson. Thought he was immense tonight and played a great all-round game. Maybe his best game in a Notts shirt
  27. Morning all, there was heavy rain in the night but it’s dry and bright at the moment. We are having a walk up to the doctors surgery this morning, Mrs. T is still having a few ongoing problems and she’s finished her antibiotics, she then wants to go and see her girlie friends for coffee so I’m on my own till lunch time but I’ve got plenty to do. Later I’ll be watching Notts on the box, safe travels to our supporters. I hope everyone is well, let us know what’s happening in your life.
  28. Better safe than sorry @Fan of Big Tone, hope you got sorted. I'm going to have to see the doctor yet again about my swollen mouth which is showing no signs of improvement. This will be my fourth doctor now - hopefully this one will take me seriously. The first one actually searched my symptoms on Google while I sat in the room with him. I got back from the U of K yesterday and will be back for Christmas now. I didn't get to see Notts this time but I'm at least armed with a new home shirt (the first one since the sponsorless 17/18 shirt). I might give DOSBox a try (I always fancied Sensible Soccer, and I miss football games). I've got Football Manager 2006 and have played it half to death. The latest versions don't really appeal to me as I think it's become too complex.
  29. Our form is even more impressive when you consider how poorly we started the season, with one point from our first three games and MP not having a clue what his best team was. The quality of football we play is still up and down at times, but the new additions look integrated in the team now and the results speak for themselves.
  30. I've gone for Robertson, I feel much less concerned when Palmer's not playing with him in the team. A very close second was Ness and a shout for Keanan Bennetts, he has real ability with the ball at his feet, especially in tight areas, he doesn't panic and just hit aimless balls to no one.

  32. Morning all I hope we are all well? I’ve got a hospital appointment later which is to investigate some small skin issues, I got an urgent referral as I’ve had cancerous skin problems removed before, hopefully it’s nothing but best to get them checked out. My appointment is 3pm it’ll be interesting trying to find parking and then battling my way through the rush hour traffic on the way back.
  33. That’s a shame I thought he was doing a half decent job there.
  34. @Pies79 I understand that Martin in his post match presser revealed that the three players absent were recovering & could have been considered for selection to play, but Martin didn't want to risk them, so hopefully they will be fit for selection against Harrogate.

  37. I am pleased Mrs. T is still getting out and is on the mend. Hopefully, within a few days, she'll feel much better. I have been coding a bit the last two days; I have built something to help with updating members on crucial parts of the site that might be experiencing trouble. It's not the most complex thing, but it is one of the first things that I have coded which required a database and a full app structure. I also took the initiative to manually prevent the newest member from being displayed among the validating members. It allows me to keep PON safe from spam bot accounts, and I have implemented ways of reducing this. Until about 4:30, I have felt good, but now I am trying to stay awake. The weather outside is dismal; poor Cheeky got completely soaked while going to pick Ava up from school. The only other thing I have been doing is loading Championship Manager 1998 in DOSBox and playing it as I go about doing stuff. Naturally, I chose Notts and spent a spell in 3rd and 2nd; then I was top for about 10 games. I am now 5th and seem to be struggling to motivate the players. I score and end up drawing. Or, I concede and get battered. Mansfield and Lincoln both beat by 5 goals to 1.
  38. Next home game hopefully, it really does feel like I have missed 10 games when it's only a few weeks. I'm taking care of myself, I don't have much choice when my body decides to sleep. I've been told off twice recently by @super_pie for snoring loudly. 😂 I'm glad Mrs T is a lot better. ❤️ Aye, to be fair I fell for the sterotype impression of them. Yet, I feel even worse to think I am not as organised as a caveman might have been. So, thanks @DangerousSausage. 😅 PS. I heard @Hi Humans ツ had a round in the prediction league. 😉 Have a great time catching up with your family, DS.
