  1. Just woeful, I can't say much more but I felt Snidjers did well going forward - very unselfish and tried. I doubt many will give him credit, however I believe he deserves it. No one else looked likely do anything at all.
  2. Well, I'm optimistic about the potential result and I wasn't before the start of this past week. I hope Cooper remains, we have a good manager in him (one who know's this division and the next). Someone really ideal to bring a bit of stability but really, we just need to see the players end the season well. Avoid any drama, today should be a day to remember with J&J being back. 2-0 (Notts) or 1-1.
  3. Hopefully he remains because he show signs that he has the ability to do well, which is more than can be said about some of the prior people before him. If he goes, I'll be one of many disappointed fans but I would wish him well.
  4. I'm actually really looking forward to the game, which I am fairly optimistic about. Leading up to the last two games, I felt we would struggle to get 1 point but it's this one which I felt would be a lost cause. Notts just need to put in a steady performance, a draw wouldn't be a bad result but how the players play is everything. Carlisle will be looking to get a result, they outclassed us last time and pretty much know how to be direct against us - it will be a good measure of Cooper's understanding to see how he combats this. Most my disagree, however I would keep Carroll. I like Loach but he's a little soft and lacks a commanding voice. I think if Loach could find the middle ground, his confidence would rocket in my opinion but it all depends how the people in front do. I just think we'll be stronger with Roy in between the sticks. COYP!
  5. Forget pitch quality, go back to the primal urge to compete and win. I really can't say I could have seen myself being any different had I have not been injured and actually made the professional grade - there's a lot to say about working together and having your team mates backs also. Notts should be more direct and less fearful of the opposition. Simple as that.
  6. And look how that worked out for Jamie Fullarton.... Regardless of points, Cooper has demonstrated what he can bring to the club - I would hate for him to leave and the same effect as Cotterill's departure takes hold. He's worth the contract....
  7. And on Saturday, it's Banana fritters on me!
  8. Pleased for the goalscorer who's worked his socks off for the community and deserves the run in the first team. I wonder who that is?
  9. We could do with seeing more energy up front, if Stead and McLeod are seriously injured - our best option is to find someone with pace. If Alan Smith starts there again, I'll go into despair.
  10. I would hope for more than 'a bit of quality'. The silver lining is that we are only two games a way from the seasons end. Where hopefully we can extend Cooper's deal, find the right players and see everything else fall into place.
  11. It's rumoured to be 4 points but I don't anyone will ever really know for sure. Despite the blips, plus the mistake highlighted by @Drivingmenotts (playing 3 defenders against Mansfield) - I still feel he's worth a contract now, as he shows a good understanding, he knows how to setup a squad and he's vastly better than the other rumour circling around (ex Mansfield manager). Yet I would hope the stalling takeover is resolved, however much unlikely it would seem.
  12. When I first was told about this, I thought it was probably for the best - however I now think it sounds like a messy divorce and not something you would see in football. Cooper's in the right but I'm not sure it's best for it to be aired in the media, there's no doubt Liam Noble's played his part and will now move on.
  13. Can we write the game off? We need a bit of optimism from this going into the Carlisle game, however I don't really see it happening. I just hope Newport don't thrash us, which would be a bad result. Still, I would like to see some of the youngsters given more time and please don't start Alan Smith alone up front. That's my only wish. 3-1 to them is my prediction!
  14. Good luck with that, I have my doubts but winning the last two games would be nice - I just don't see it happening. I am more worried about Carlisle (last game of the season). It would be depressing to lose at home in that game.
  15. Mark Cooper's magpies' unfortunately suffered their third back-to-back defeat, as Shaun Derry's Cambridge United triumph away from home. The U's Luke Berry opened up proceedings as he charged down County keeper Scott Loach's clearance and the ball flew into the far corner of the net. County pulled back on level terms as Haydn Hollis met a Liam Noble free-kick. However, Ben Williamson got the winner after a goalmouth scramble. -- Pride of Nottingham's Notts-Joe and Joe Jones prior to the Cambridge United game on the 23/04/2016 took to asking Magpie' fans key questions. 19. On Saturday 23 April, Notts County played host to Cambridge United at Meadow Lane. The U's, managed by former Magpies player and manager Shaun Derry, made it a happy homecoming for the Nottingham-born boss as they clinched a 2-1 victory. Pride of Nottingham's dedicated media team was on hand to interview Notts fans prior to the game and ask them a number of questions regarding the fixture, the happenings behind the scenes, and their hopes for next season. Here are their responses - thank you for watching and thank you to the fans who kindly spoke to Pride of Nottingham. 20. Fans that spoke to me after the game said that Cambridge could have beaten us by a greater margin, certainly I felt a better team would have been able to do that - no disrespect to Cambridge but many of their attacks, looked to me, as if they wasn't sure what to do with the ball. However, they did well and built play up nicely. The disallowed goals show us that it could have been a different story, so for me, I think it highlights the work required to improve the defence for next season and have a more capable team to break down opposition sides.
  21. Please, please, please.... Let's not play Alan Smith upfront on his own again, it's very ineffective. Yes he worked hard, however him in that position didn't work and just added pressure. I'm not blaming him, not at all but we will only struggle. Once Lartey Sarpong and Motel Gibson came on, we looked more mobile and in turn more likely to score. It wasn't a very good performance yesterday, if I was the assistant I would state that.
  22. It looked more like a deliberate trip to me, I suppose only the highlights will confirm it out not (either that or specsavers) -edit- Oooooooo, he did kick out. That certainly is a red! My view certainly didn't make it seem like he lost his temper originally but the highlights, well, erm, highlight it better.
  23. I wasn't impressed by Cambridge but they deserved the win, Notts just wasn't in the game - not even when we scored. Their first goal, disbelief. How could Loach make that mistake? Well, I think he's struggling with confidence. He looked nervous throughout and I thought he was quite poor today but so was a lot of the squad. Noble's sending off was daft, never a red but I fear its goodbye from him. The sad thing is we never seemed to know how best to play the ball, nor how to use it to create anything. Cooper's changes gave us something different but because everyone was underperforming - it made it harder for Sarpong and Gibson. I felt sorry for them in truth, to which I'm pleased now Mark Cooper didn't start them. Its not fair to them, it really isn't.
  24. I was surprised by how many fans wasn't bothered or felt he wasn't good enough, as prior to Ricardo he was a solid fan favourite and then boom he's gone. Jimmy's a good player, we never played to his strengths but when do we do this for a striker? The last one I recall who suited our play is Hughes, who knew exactly what those around him would do but Jimmy, Izale and others haven't had this. Today will be close in my opinion, we just need to take our time when chances present themselves and defend heroically. I'm not confident of the win, however much I hope it to be the case but a draw - that is something I do think is possible. I also do not blame Cooper, he's not got a player in the dressing room which he brought here and as I said when he came, it would be handy to have one or two. COYP!
