Match Highlights: Accrington Stanley vs. Notts County
Notts County put on a brave fight in the second half of their League Two game at Accrington Stanley but after conceeding three goals in the first half, the Magpies' could not undo the damage as John Coleman's side claimed all three points - the final score 3-2. Billy Kee put Stanley ahead after firing past Roy Carroll, and Rommy Boco then carefully timed his header to make it 2-0, after connecting with Piero Mingoia's cross to double the advantage shortly after. Boco then scored a brace after lobbing Carroll, yet in the second half after Jamie Fullarton's side made changes - Ronan Murray placed a well positioned shot from 12 yards which gave County hope. Adam Campbell then slotted in from the edge of the area, but the Magpies' was unable to score a late equalizer. Match Discussion: Game 33 - The Pilgrims (A)
To win this we would need to put on a solid display and comfortable performance, I just don't see it happening. Plymouth are a very good side, one who is in far better form and we will have to see the defence to it's just, whilst more advanced players will be required to take the second half approach from yesterday's game against Accrington. I'm quite nervous about if we end up going on a losing streak, not due to relegation but more pressing matters which will only become worse by us not making things which matter count. I mean the best outcome I can see is a draw, yet I don't see it myself.

Notts County leave it too late as Accrington Stanley survive late blitz
If only we had started off brighter, still it's a lose and I worry about what that will result in. I'm pleased we shown enough to get 2 back but we should never have gone 3-0 down. This team really does need to start learning, whilst Fullarton may learn from his changes. Good to see Murray and Campbell score! COYP!!

Match Discussion: Game 32 - Stanley (A)
@tarquinbeech Honestly, I'm not worried about PON. I have faith in my ability and us as a fan base/community - I'm more concerned about seeing Saturday's aftermath being repeated. I feel it will, as I think more fans are pulling towards that way of thinking. I'm not even that surprised to see us losing to Stanley, yet it's not a good time. When Newcastle fans had their meltdown, it did more harm than good - have they managed to recover from it? Not really.

Match Discussion: Game 32 - Stanley (A)
I'm not but I feel sick, I'm worried about us fans and what the future holds for the club we support. The score so far is quite negative within it's own right. I also highly doubt we will pick up - Accrington are one of those teams who thrive on things like this. Leading 2-0 so early, it could turn out worse. I'll eat my words which I said to DrivingmeNotts.

Match Discussion: Game 32 - Stanley (A)
So, who's pressed the self destruct button. The score is absolutely a shambles, I said if they scored they would gain more momentum and @Riverleeno no - I doubt it. We could be on the verge of a catastrophic result here. The season really needs to end soon, 2-0? Already... Well done Notts

talking of C**p, there will enough at the Rio Olympics
I haven't been paying attention to the Olympics, if I was totally honest I would say they have lost all their appeal which they once had. I don't even given our own the time of day when it comes to medals etc. That said, there are some which I keep an eye out (mainly runners). Also agree that it shouldn't take place if Brazil don't have the virus in hand. Last thing we need is for it to spread or for it to get out of control totally - it makes me curious why they stop the African Nations for fear of spreading a disease but not this?

where foreign players have not been a success
I think it's not so much a case of foreign players but teams knowing how to make use of their ability. When you cook something, these days herbs and spices aren't uncommon to be added - whilst in the footballing world, managers insist that they know best and some do not give people chance to express myself. The perfect example would be Swerts, he looked very useful and now we have the missing Stanley Aborah - who do we fall back on? It's certainly not Gill Swerts because he opt towards releasing him. Like I try to mention, it's more about the clubs. I forget the Dutch defender in the 90's who played in the Championship, yet he was someone I always felt could cut it. Also, some teams have made it quite successful in dabbling in the market. Forest (hate to say it) managed to find some gems whilst in League One.

Match Discussion: Game 32 - Stanley (A)
Milsom really should come back into the play. He wasn't afraid to take players on and looked good going forward. Valencic I don't believe will see another chance for awhile, likely we'll just see McLeod up top and Stead just behind him. I wouldn't play silly buggers against Accrington Stanley, they might not be world beaters but they do a good job as a unit. I'd try to keep the squad as close as possible to the previous games myself, perhaps dropping Atkinson. I think I could offer more after dislocating one of my knees than he does. Oooo, reading that back it comes across quite negative! Don't get me wrong I see the potential in him, yet we have let players go who offer far more (yes I know Cranston was a left back but still). Push Hewitt back on the right. Atkinson just doesn't offer us much, going forward his passing and crosses are mostly poor (as are his decisions). In defence he only really just manages to do the job in my opinion - he offers pace and not much else at this stage. Also, I'm not a fan of Hewitt in the middle - he's getting better but I hope we can settle back more.

Match Discussion: Game 32 - Stanley (A)
I said after the first away win and sometime before that it would be a shame if we swapped home for for away form. I do think we have a good chance of winning provided any support that goes, focus on the fact we need three points. I know a lot is going off, yet I really don't care for that. That's between a group of fans and the board, I want to focus on the football and avoid the turmoil that can come. Jamie needs to be sensible and re-think his decisions, yet he's learning and will make mistakes. He just has to admit it. Stanley are a decent side, physical and scrappy in a sense. The game could very well be like we saw yesterday! I hope not.

Notts County succumb to lacklustre home defeat against Leyton Orient
One of the worst performances in terms of how we played. I barely recall us looking giving them any sort of pressure, we just mostly lost the ball once in midfield - we must surely do better? I also feel sorry for Jamie Fullarton.
-
Jon Stead eager to show off Notts County progress to home fans
If we can get Jon in the zone and keep him up front, he can be a key player - don't get me wrong I like that he drifts and contributes to the defending but it's got to be at the right time. Often he's always too far back which he doesn't have the legs for. Noticed some fans having cheeky bets on him to score first! Let's hope he does.

Jamie Fullarton: 'Notts County growing in confidence with each game'
It could have gone wrong, yet I always felt we could get something just by the fact we still continued to create chances. This said, I for one will give JF credit. Firstly for sticking with the same 11. Secondly for not bowing to pressure. Yet I still feel he needs an assistant - that knowledge and advice would help him read games better, as he seems a tad bit carefree about making changes and a slight tweak, just to tactics could make a difference but sometimes you know throwing a different player on can sway the balance back towards our own play. That and I honestly do not believe RM could have pulled all three points back after going 2-2. COYP

Notts County clinch all three points in exhilarating Hartlepool clash
I was nervous before hand, but 2-0 up I was delighted - 2-1 still positive despite the signs. 2-2 heart in my mouth! Then them attacking, trying to go for the win and Carroll showing his quality to keep us in the game (I don't know if he made mistakes before) but still 3-2 job done. Thank god! COYP!!

League Two Round-Up: Weekend Saturday 13/2/2016
Tomorrow is a must win fixture for Notts, if we lose another game - I fear hell will be let loose. After losing to York on Saturday, the morale of folks quite low.

perhaps new "training" methods after York
Perhaps we should have fielded a centre back who was fit and ready? Training wise, you can do anything and on match day it just goes out of the window.

Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Minstermen (A)
Frustrated and disappointed but hey, we are Notts fans. I accept the result - I just want to see a response on Tuesday. If we lose against Hartlepool - new manager syndrome it won't be good. At what stage do we consider getting Jamie Fullarton the proper guidance he requires during games? He didn't change anything, left it late and anyone knows if you do this you narrow the gap down. If the stats are right that Tarkers shared, it just shows how poor we was in the final third. Come on NOTTS, lets get this season settled. I don't care about chasing dreams, I just want to see you go for the win.

Half Time Report: York City in cruise control against shellshocked Notts County
From what I am reading, fans aren't impressed with the Doncaster defender. Talk about falling flat on your face, there's been a lot of hype about the defence - do we learn? I just hope JF gives them clear instructions and changes a few things. Only noted positives from Noble and Banton (going off Colin/Mark). Lets get back into this Notts!!

Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Minstermen (A)
Typical, absolutely typical. If Notts want to get something from this, they'll have to sort the defence out - the Doncaster defender sounds problematic. The defence seemed to have improved, so we throw in an unfit defender? I was optimistic about the loan but right now I am just disappointed. I just don't see how we can turn this around without making changes to the way we are playing. York City sound like they are full of confidence after scoring the first goal. Colin says if they score a third goal, it will be game over - with fans flooding to support the club, I honestly hope Notts improve.

Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Minstermen (A)
It's down to his manager and team mates to get him to cut it out, but the most frustrating part is when he dives or goes down easily in a good position - he tends to waste opportunities by doing it. I've said to both Joe Jones and Cobby (browser refuses to allow me to tag - ha!) that a proper striker would try to shoot - rather than crumble to the floor in those situations. Regardless, he's a key player and we can demand more from him. He said it himself when he signed and when he spoke after hushing the crowd, so hopefully he can play a role in today's game. I'm pretty confident.

Notts County can beat anyone at the minute, says Elliott Hewitt
I agree with CS above. Since his surprise inclusion, he's been brilliant but as a CB he leaves us wide open. Poor Hollis had to cover him at home, so I would prefer him to play back at RB. Hopefully his comments ring true but we need to see more, there's no doubt about that.

York City: Scouting Report
Jamie Fullarton will be hoping his Notts squad can achieve their third successive away with since he took charge. The Magpies' confidence has increased on the road since the departure of Ricardo Moniz with fans in attendance and in spirit will hope this continues for as long as possible. York City will be hoping their home form prevails against County, with them last claiming victory against Stevenage back on the turn of last month. They have won one of their last six games, having drawn two and losing three - The Minstermen are 16 points below Notts who are currently bottom of the League Two table. Run-down of their last six games. Monday 28th December β Mansfield Town 1 York City 1 Saturday 2nd January β Yeovil Town 1 York City 0 Saturday 16th January β York City 0 Newport County 1 Saturday 23rd January β Carlisle United 1 York City 1 Saturday 30th January β York City 2 Stevenage 1 Saturday 6th February β Northampton Town 2 York City 0 The Players β Fact Sheet Highest Goal Scorers; Vadaine Oliver 8, Michael Coulson 5, James Berrett 4 and Luke Summerfield 4. Persistent Foulers; Vadaine Oliver 7 yellow cards and 1 red card, Dave Winfield 7 yellow cards, James Berrett 7 yellow cards and Marvin McCoy 4 yellow cards. The Key Players. Scott Flinders on his day can be a very decent keeper, especially if protected by his defence. If I singled out three players who seem to be key to the Minstermen's team - they would be Michael Coulson, Vadaine Olver and Russell Penn. Whilst Kenny McEvoy deserves an honourable mention. Style of Play, Strengths, and Weaknesses. From all the highlights I have seen, York City haven't really shown much direction with their play. They seem to struggle to get hold of the ball, which seems to create scrappy play - whilst at times they can pass it around nicely, as you can imagine this isn't the case often and their fans do seem to encourage better play at home. They play as a unit, keeping passes as simple as possible. When they do play well, their attacks are certainly from the heart and with the ability to get forward they can appear to be lethal - however, prone to making poor decisions on goal, often leaves their breaks unrewarded. Weaknesses within their defences highlights that they do not look up to much against good sides, with those that play attacking minded football. They tend to back of their opposition, leaving space and their marking seems to be missing - as does their positioning. Ball from corners and blistering shots seems to make Scott Flinders and his defence struggle. Not a member yet? Join our website - Here | Interested in reading more? Visit our homepage - Here.

Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Minstermen (A)
I know what you mean, he's work rate is something I have voiced concerns about. Yet if performances improve, he should be at the front and hopefully with someone with pace to partner (without probably won't be the case) - yet at home it should always be this way. Tomorrow it's not so much a problem, if we keep the direct route and bombard balls into their penalty box. I just hope to hear "It's Notts on attack" rather than "Notts are hanging in there" or wave after wave of York attacks.
