  1. Things will feel normal after a while, though it's not something I would worry about. I can understand those who travel being concerned about the data that is wanted and the challenges some of that data could face. I don't know, haven't you heard of JKEStar? There might be tax implications for you, particularly in Skegness. 😅
  2. It might be a challenge to win once you sign over the ownership by EFL rules: you take on the historical debts, and it's up to you to do your due diligence. 7 million is a lot of money to be concerned about; it does make me wonder if the court challenge is due to the new owner not having the funding to take things on. Alan Hardy claimed that he was subjected to historical debts which weren't covered during the sale, but I always felt that was him lashing out at the childish games between him and the Trews. At least in my opinion, and he did tweet stuff about considering pursueing action but nothing ever came of it.
  3. Happy to see you spread some awareness to someone who applies their trade well. 👍🏻 Remember the days when you could indulge in anything you wanted without worrying about gaining weight? I have cut out a lot of sugar since being told I am pre-diabetic, I don't drink alchol very often and I try to drink as much water as possible. Nestle Pure Life has a nice taste as far as water comes, but I am determined to follow your steps and lose weight. Hopefully, you enjoyed your mini night out and find a way to counter it.
  4. Accounts awaiting approval are displayed as registered. It's going to be a little tricky to know if an account is a real person, or if it's just another bot/spam account.
  5. Right now, I would have him above Jacob Bedeau and any other defender. His form is very stable right now, and he seems in a routine, but this can change. Based on his starts so far, he's done nothing to be replaced, and no other centre back has done enough to claim the centre of our defence. I wonder if Jacob Bedeau would be more consistent out wide, which could be something to explore once Matty Platt is 100%. I think it's very important to acknowledge players who are in form, instead of just accepting it because maintaining it does seem a lot harder than some fans think. Being a professional doesn't mean you will always be at your best; giving 100% isn't always a reflection on their ability to impact games.
  6. Unfortunately, it seems to be one of those spam bot accounts. Therefore, I have banned the account. If I am mistaken, please reach out to me via the contact menu, but there are a lot of suspicious aspects, such as joining from a spam post which has been deleted. Being from Jordan, I don't know of any supporter groups there.
  7. Alassana Jatta and Jodi Jones are two players I am sure would still be crucial players. I would add Will Jarvis, but I am starting to wonder if he's a real person or if we have dreamt him up. Matthew Dennis, I think, would show promise, but it's important to have good players opening up those attacking positions, and I do think he would continue to do well if Notts were to gain promotion; Matt Palmer could easily do League One, as I think Scott Robertson would be able to set up. Conor Grant might be more useful, as League One is less pressured than League Two, and he might find more time to influence matches. I don't hold much hope for Ollie Norburn to be anything more than a squad player, but he could settle and prove me wrong that he's got more about him. He should be capable of playing League One, but I wouldn't think he'd make my starting 11 often if I were to choose it. I have my reservations about Jack Hinchy and Mai Traore; however, Traore may thrive in League One for reasons similar to those that benefit Grant. Keanan Bennetts looks like a good attacking option, but I worry his defensive downfalls wouldn't be all that useful if we were to gain promotion. I would like to see him showing signs of improvement in this area, but I wouldn't think he would be one of the clear candidates. Nick Tsaroulla and Kellan Gordon are both good players. I really like Tsaroulla and have called for him to be a regular starter, but he is a little inconsistent at times. Far less than Gordon, who is very frustrating as you can see he's capable but doesn't deliver on his ability all that often. Both should be fine at League One level, but Gordon convinces me less. Lewis Macari still shows a lot of potential, and I think he will be fine. Lucas Ness gives me doubts based solely on his injury history, but his ability should be good enough; however, I don't think we can carry players who get injured so easily. Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau could both be vital defenders, but truth be told, both would need to be more consistent and step up their performances based on this season. Rod McDonald should be perfectly fine to do his role, provided his legs stay strong. Being 33, he should have a few more seasons in him. Kelle Roos might be perfectly fine; I can't comment on the two other keepers on our books because I haven't seen them enough.
  8. Yes, I recall you sharing that he had been released. I do remember discussions about bringing him back to Notts, and I thought someone had said he signed for someone in the Non-League. It could have been a Nelson Mandela effect mind.
  9. I thought he had signed for a team in the Non-League myself? I remember talk of @Piethagoram hoping Jack would come back to Notts, and talks of him having gained a good level of experience whilst being in Liverpool's academy, but I can't find anything on him searching Google. For anyone who loves playing football, finding any way of staying involved in the game usually helps fill that void. I agree, it's good that he has found alternative employment, and I wish him well. It's always interesting to see how different people take different routes in football, and perhaps Jack McMillan just wanted to give something back?
  10. There goes my plan to get Jake Bugg to help invest in "buying" Notts from the Reedtz; he will never trust me now.
  11. Hello, @KatrinaPIE. Thank you for joining @BigNCFC and being part of the community here. I look forward to seeing who you both vote for in terms of Man of the Match and any potential comments you wish to share. 😁
  12. @super_ram used to watch a lot of cricket when I was younger, and I make no denial that I found it incredibly boring. However, I did think Dickie Bird made a lot of sense and was one of the few interesting points. A very good umpire who never once seemed to show any bias. Rest in Peace, Dickie Bird.
  13. I recently updated and improved the wallpaper system template. I wish to make further changes and improvements, but will see about that as it's not a major thing. Now that I feel better, I need to jump back into the content. At the weekend, I will be watching Crewe with my friends, and I am looking forward to it. It will be somewhat different, but so far it's been good to attend the games. I won't be at Crewe itself, however, on Saturday. Yes, but I put it back on and find it hard to consistently keep it off. I have medication which has a side effect of weight gain, and walking can be a bit tricky, so I try to do exercises daily, but ones that won't tire me out or cause further pain. We had a discussion a while ago about weight loss; a couple of other members chipped in, and I think @Fozzy had lost a fair amount. I really need to find a way that works consistently and to avoid putting it back on.
  14. https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/sportx/tables/league-two/ I can see if we can have a toggle for this mode in the widget, if you wish? So that this table can be set to showing the above way. If toggled on, it would change this tables layout. https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/club/league-table/
  15. Crawley Town looked decent on the move, but out of it you can see why they struggle so far. Their passing wasn't the best, as we would pick up a fair amount of stray and weak balls. Harry McKirdy showed a lot of spirit, and I believe he was their best player. He had some good chances, which he failed to get on target or to really test Kelle Roos, who for me seems to be getting better by the game. Kabongo Tshimanga, who I recall Notts fans wanting us to sign when we were in the National League and who has always seemed to play poorly against us, was incredibly poor again. Notts has to be praised for the way the team started the game; I thought there were spells when Crawley, at least at the beginning, looked to be building momentum. Yet, defensively we looked very comfortable, and I felt nervous a couple of times when Rod McDonald and Jacob Bedeau were high up for corners, and Lewis Macari had to get into position. Likewise, later on, when Nick Tsaroulla had to deal with cutting out breaks after Crawley tried to counter. I had Matt Palmer down as my Man of the Match early on, at least up to the 30th minute and perhaps some time after, but it was around this point that I started to see Scott Robertson winning more challenges, getting the ball forward, and passing it into creative areas. I would like to praise Nick Tsaroulla for some of his very clever passes, which came from him taking players on and drifting in more centrally. Robertson had a few times when I thought he was going to strike the ball, though I honestly didn't think he was going to place his scoring effort into the top corner so well. The first half felt very routine; I didn't feel much of a threat from Crawley, and I was pleased that in the second half we started pushing for a second. Thankfully, Tyreese Hall put the game to bed, with excellent play from Jayden Luker. Games can sometimes change quickly, which is why it felt encouraging that we didn't become complacent. I do feel sorry for Crawley, as it did become a bit of an exhibition game and we have all been there. I didn't rate their on-loan keeper from Liverpool. Harvey Davies made some good saves, but a lot, especially before we scored, were a bit godsmacking in that he would punch instead of catching efforts, which looked like he wasn't paying attention or had caught him by surprise. Chest height, easy to cup and smoother with both arms, but he just reacted weirdly. Look at Alassana Jatta's goal; it goes straight through, and it really did look like Jatta had lost confidence when it came to shooting until he found the net. Very pleasing win, excellent team performance, and whilst I hope they enjoyed the win. If I were Martin Paterson, I would be telling the squad to stay focused, keep working hard, and remember that we have come a short way from some of the disconnected performances.
  16. @liampie, considering there are accounts of rats being cooked and eaten, nothing would surprise me, but that is war for us. Much worse could have happened had it not been won, maybe less so with the first World War, but certainly with the second.
  17. I felt up to the 30th minute that Matt Palmer would be earning my vote; everything a leader does on the pitch, he was involved in. Excellent in his tracking back, to the point he reminded me of Jim O'Brien when he would become possessed with wanting to get the ball back. And I think it's a huge credit to him and the partnership built on previous seasons, which led to Scott Robertson becoming quite competitive with doing exactly the same as what Palmer did, just going on to score a brilliant goal in the process. The game for me said a lot about how hard work pays off, because I don't think anyone underperformed, and I do think Jacob Bedeau looked more like his old self. I'm not targeting him; I just believe he's someone who could elevate his game and be more of the quality I know he can be, but he did well yesterday. Robertson, for me, is the rightful person to earn my vote, but I even think Kelle Roos deserves a shout.
  18. Am I the only one having issues? I hate what Apple have done to their podcast area.
  19. I wrote this poem thinking about many people who are sadly not with us, provoked mostly by the thought of Kimbo's death but also of several other friends, such as Tracey Bellis, Jayne Briggs, Angela Wilson, and many more regular faces who attended home and away.
  20. It's been a while since I wrote a blog; for me, the personal ones were aimed at a release, while the insightful ones about PON were more about behind-the-scenes information and updates. In fact, I am writing this as I go along, which will hopefully end up less like a random ramble but more like a case of reminding myself where I was. I have spent a lot of time reflecting, thinking about how differently I would have gone about things, given what I know now. You do make mistakes, but you have to own them and move forward. I know some might think dwelling on things isn't healthy, but for someone who suffers greatly from mental health issues, it's the one useful way to get a real sense of perspective on things. To say I care about Notts, I think it's obvious to anyone who knows me. There are times when I think of how passionate my grandfather Ray was about Notts, and how useful he would be to a site like this. He really was a walking encyclopedia on Notts. Name a game, and he would tell you the score, attendance, date, and all that information. I think he would have also been a huge asset when I think of things I have done wrong. Saying that, it's not like I have ever shot someone, but to say I wasn't prepared when I did get the vision right. I think I started with too much, too soon, for example. My initial vision was to share cherished memories and articles inspired by the insights of fans in the front end and just be a general forum. Yet, it can become addictive to add things, and, reflecting, it could be confusing for a lot of people who aren't used to it. I have spoken before about the first time I saw a fan browsing PON at Meadow Lane, and how that gave me encouragement along with a buzz. I used to get it when members joined, but with so many never really doing anything over time, it just became less expected. I don't want the wrong impression given here; it's like if you open a store and have people come in but never really purchase anything. The exhilaration of your first sale and the thrill of acquiring your fifth active customer can quickly become commonplace. I don't take members for granted, but my point about people joining only to disappear really used to baffle me. Back in the day, I used to email regular content out in newsletters, but those got few hits, and I think it became a little annoying. When these do return, it will be for those who want them, and I have learned a lot more about what makes people excited to read content. That's the thing I have learned the most: you pick things up, and over time, if you keep working on it, you get better. I learned a lot from Joe Jones's time working alongside me, and fans frequently say how they feel I am undervalued, but he was a real driving force in shaping PON. Then again, those who, for whatever reason, decide to be awkward towards me try to claim I make the site about me when, in fact, I try my hardest to make the community feel valued. It's been a long journey for me: 20 years in visioning the concept, 15 in working on it productively, and 13 in trying to get it right. That's a chunk of my life, and I still sometimes feel I am no different than when I started, but that is just my negative thoughts taking over. Fact is, I have grown as a person immensely from being very shy to more reserved but able to communicate in person. I have picked up, improved, and learned so many skills, and all have been worthwhile. Having my family's support, my father, and my dearly missed mum, who was a common talking point amongst my friends on match day. My children and wife. All have played their roles in encouraging me, helping me, and making the site what it is. Credit can't be taken by one person alone; it's a community effort, and my only goal these days is to bring value to people. Do what I enjoy most, make the most of what I can while I can, and by the end of it. I know I can be proud and feel like my grandfather Ray and my mother would be, too. Sentimental ending?I am not leaving it there. While my time as of this week has mostly been spent on overcoming an illness, it has given me time to think about things. There are some exciting things that I think regular and active members will enjoy. My friend @True Magpie, is working hard on bringing some positive changes in terms of help guides which I will be chipping in with myself. I also aim to add a new cetegory to my blog, where I digest my thoughts on Notts games. I used to struggle with match reports, I hated the idea of writing them because I would always want to add my thoughts. Give a reflection based on what went wrong, but never really understanding how to write what happened. Each paragraph used to be an headache, I wrapped my head around it's basically telling a story of how the game unfolded and the focus is to openly construstive to both teams. Exhibit honesty without any bias or embellishment.
  21. There's doubts that myself, and Jake (@super_pie) will be fit enough to be part of the 12th man. I am looking forward to the game, I think it's a good chance to get back to winning ways and since we signed Nick Tsaroulla and Kellan Gordon (I am outdated, is he injured? He went off at Gillingham) from them I would hope that they can help us in terms of some insights into Crawley despite things having changed since they were there, it would be nice to see either player crop up with a goal for us. It will be interesting to see if Martin Paterson sticks with two up top? I would bring Scott Robertson on for Ollie Norburn, I don't think Norburn injects much energy into the side and Robertson has a good amount of chemistry with Matt Palmer. It could help overcome some of this disconnection we have in our midfield. Aside from that, I can't see much changing but if I do feel well enough, I hope I don't watch us pass the ball back too much. Against Gillingham it did come at the cost of attacking, and was quite frustrating to see how lacking Notts were creaively.
  22. I used to attend them religiously, but I find them to be quite pointless because any question worth knowing will be diluted or politically answered. It's to be expected, and as such I find it to be more of a waste of time. This one seems a lot more important, at least for me to see where other fans are coming from and getting a fairer reflection on what concerns people have. Outside of social media and beyond what fans say to me when I talk to them. I would hope the forum isn't an attempt to appease people, as I think it tends to cause more problems. My hope is that Notts can use this as a way to be informative to us fans and get the majority of supporters back on side with what matters. That is encouraging for the site, and I'm hoping we can climb the table; there have been teams who have struggled and gotten their act together. I would hope Notts sees how important we are to chasing promotion, digging ourselves out of tough times, and just mounting pressure. We had it for one brief season after promotion back to League Two.
  23. I haven't seen Alassana Jatta struggle so much with defenders as I have against Gillingham; there were several times he was literally pulled to the ground. Though tinted blue, glasses believe their team are saints in the dark arts department. Likewise, even Matthew Dennis struggled, but I think he coped a lot better than Jatta, which is why I think Gillingham started to fly in on Dennis. Personally, I think it was, in hindsight, the wrong decision to play two strikers against Gillingham, but in principle it should have worked. As much as they played quite deep, it's due to the midfield having little grip on the game and how the Gills created; they did force us to play quite deep. Every pass we made, they would quickly press and mark with multiple players, and our strikers never really had any service in the second half. We started to resort to attempting to get Jodi Jones to run, overlap, and create the space to attack. It's too early to say if we are better with two strikers or not. It's possible that we simply need to choose more wisely, because at times it won't benefit us to play both Jatta and Dennis. Yet that presents the question: will Martin Paterson be brave enough to make the right call as to who should start? And even then, how do you choose between either? As easy as we might think, both players have their strengths but are equally good on goal. Against Gillingham, I would have played Jatta as the lone striker and then considered switching to two up top in the second half or withdrawing Jatta for Dennis. I don't think Ollie Norburn always offers much for his place in the team; it could be that he is still finding fitness and is naturally hit-and-miss due to coming back from injury, but I would much rather play Scott Robertson moving forward.
  24. There are no supporter buses for Notts, but it is likely that he could find a way to catch a Trent Barton bus and then use the same bus line to get to Meadow Lane. Have you tried using their Journey Planner? https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/bus-information/route-finder One day, Notts may get a monorail from the city centre or at least the tram network (monorail is an inside Notts joke). There could be alternative options too, such as seeing if there are nearby fans who drive (provided your father doesn't mind company). I know of quite a few fans who got to know people by giving lifts to and from games.
