Considering a Return to Community Raffles
I am curious as to if there might be enough support to conduct raffles back here on the site, in the past they were helpful but did require my time to promote them. Please don't instantly locate the donate button, whilst I do need to encourage that and the subscriptions that will come with time. As well as trying to find local businesses willing and wanting to work with PON, this is something I am excited about but I do acknowledge the content side and lack of social media presence currently might put some off. I just need to come up with effective solutions that benefit everyone. I am blessed that there are plenty of people willing to support, and help keep the costs manageable, but I am currently unable to renew my licence for the software we use. This is why I have taken to selling some of the applications I have made, but sales rely on interest and so far I have only sold 2 copies of the same resource. I am grateful, excited and proud but that comes with time to support any questions or issues they experience. Plus setting aside time to do that away from all my roles here. I am not complaining, just explaining that if I were able to return to doing raffles. I could try to see if the support is there to complete them every now and then in order to help raise money. Not everyone would be obliged to donate, nor do I expect it and sometimes you have to give something back.

Weekly Chat Monday 27th April to Sunday 3rd May
Cheeky is on a school trip. She's very actively helping one of the nearest schools and has been assisting them for quite a few years. I think she's done an amazing job helping out, and teaching local children how to read. I am not allowed to pick my youngest daughter up from school, she wants Jake to do it. However, I am being told by Jake I have to do it. I'm tempted to see if my mum's wheelchair still works, kidnap my dad and get him to come with me. 🤣 I need protection because Ava won't be happy at all. I want to forward this somewhere that should take notice of it. 🤣

Announcement: Improvements, and New Features - 21st April 2026
I have brought the feature back twice before; it's not a core resource and the original dev left. I asked Terabyte to upgrade it, which he did, but that was for 4.7 not 5x. It's nice to see members respecting, and giving reactions. I remember back in the day, you and my dad asking for the ability to give more because it used to be limited due to the queries involved. I wouldn't worry, people want to feel appreciated and @macpie has spoken about how he appreciates it. I don't easily give reactions, even though I like a lot of content. I do it for effort, and acknowledgement. I don't think anyone would really chase it to be named in something that's just for fun. Though, I understand your concerns and have in the past when you have mentioned it. This is how I see it, I always give them myself based on effort. I will give different ones based on the content. I enjoy recognising humorous posts because they can help build a strong community. You need people of various varities, but united behind supporting each other. At the end of the day, when Notts is a bit gloomy, you look for these people to brighten your day. Not just those who make you laugh, but care and in an honest way. I don't really mind if people agree, disagree or react to mine but it does have a nice feeling when you see it. It's partly why I have never really been all that interested in social media from a personal point of view. likes etc, they don't mean much but the friendship does. When I see people's posts that have taken effort to add value, the very least I can do is acknowledge it. Most I think would feel the exact same way, at least I feel.

Member's Mood to Song Game
I have noticed that @Robbie has updated his mood, which got me thinking I wonder how many songs we could share based on members moods. The aim isn't to spam, but to firstly show support to other members but to also promote a song which someone else might not have heard. In addition to highlighting the feature itself. I am going with Jaded by Mest, these aren't my favourite artists in the world but I do love this song, along with Rooftops and a few others. Rules: Someone updates their mood → we pick a song that matches → we share it to support them and share music with the community. No double posting please. Do join in if you can think of a song.

Weekly Chat Monday 27th April to Sunday 3rd May
I haven't long been back from my dietry appointment, and I have to say that it has been the best I have had. Previous people have told me to cut x out, eat less and they just don't seem to take things into consideration; it's like a text book at times. The lady I saw today, she was brilliant and has given me some advice which I hadn't considered or even realised would help. All things to take on board, and because I feel some of my own actions have benefitted me already. It is encouraging, but at least I know what is impacting my liver and more support with being pre-diabetic.

Weekly Chat Monday 27th April to Sunday 3rd May
I have a dietry appointment today at my GP, hopefully the progress I am making is good because I am not sure what else I can do in order to curve things. I feel somewhat better in areas, so provided I can avoid becoming diabetic and trim my weight down. Just waiting for Cheeky to come back from school, and then off I go.

Where are they now : Kevin Blackwell
I remember the name, but not much else. I love that Neil Warnock is living his life how he wants, and shows little signs of not retiring properly. The thought of managing overseas is amusing to me. Good on him for not allowing his age to prevent him from living.

Italian Magpies at Notts v Barnet
I consider many to be friends, and I miss seeing them outside of Notts. I haven't managed to catch up with the likes of Giorgio, and on match days it's quite difficult because I do struggle a lot with crowds since COVID. Their friendship as always meant the world to me, I didn't recongise any of the people who took a picture near to where I sat. It's a shame I didn't feel like going up and saying hello, prior I would have introduced myself but again anxiety doesn't help.

Weekly Chat Monday 27th April to Sunday 3rd May
I felt I needed the luck, and I left the meeting feeling even more disappointed. I knew going in, that it was going to unfold how it did and I am glad that I have made other enquiries. I do think that one blessing is meeting someone else face to face who understands the situation and purpose of the whole discussion. I used to feel targeted, but now I think it's unsympatic and poorly trained people. No grudge will be held on my part, I just want to be unchallenged and respected. This incident has seen some local media reach out to me, but I am not interested in that. I knew it would be my word vs BS, but thinking I don't have witnesses has revealed one person's "games". I don't find it professional at all.

Announcement: Improvements, and New Features - 21st April 2026
This announcement is now concluded. I will post another early next month, with further updates on some of those teasers I have dropped. None of those are yet finalised, but have been built. I have repaired the damage I previously mentioned: the welcome header, daily post goal, and next game widget have been restored. I have improved their performances, but may review their designs, as I want to make some feature improvements to the next match. A significant amount of performance-based gains has been achieved as I continue to improve the efficacy of resources. I have fixed issues with the writing assistance feature I have made. The word count is much more effective and instead of updating as you type, it now waits for you to pause. One 4.7 feature which was very under-used, despite me highlighting it, was the ability to change how the forum index looks. Whilst the PON Lightweight Fluid theme is fixed, I have built an application which returns a selector to change it in our two other themes. This returns a custom-based look, which I like to do to bring attention to certain forums. Next to the "Start new topic", you will see five options. That is how you can choose your preference quickly and easily, but please note the fluid is locked to the more centralised view. I have made theme improvements, which I highly suspect will go unnoitced but please be assured, I have and they are made to improve the experience. Some might have noticed how on desktop, I switched the social links for the search bar. Well, that is due to me adding a new feature to one of the requests to promote the service status page and suggestions area. Bundled in is a widget which will allow me to promote those suggestions here, and allow for them to be vosted without leaving the main site but I do encourage you to bookmark it nontheless. The URL is inside the about tab, but I felt a nice visual badge button would make it stand out. I haven't figured out the best means for mobiles, but I will have time to think. I have also implemented bug fixes to the service status page and suggestions. These are general cleanup-based fixes, with a focus on getting the notification feature via email working very soon. If something was to happen, it would be where you would hear first, and it's a very important tool. I would love to see more of you subscribe to the updates it can provide; it will keep you in the loop and well informed. Thank you, everyone!

A ridiculous assist....
I swear, no lie! This is like playing Jake on FIFA when he gets his skills and I am trying to back off or avoiding relying just crunching his player in the hope I make contact with the ball first. It's insane to see something similar happen in real life, poor pressure from the defence but excellent skill. I thought he had over done it at first, and that the assist was going to come from elsewhere. Good team goal!

Fact of the day : Chelsea
If my son used PON, I might need to hide this but since he doesn't often I will tag him @super_pie. Remember where your loyality lies, son, I know you are Notts through and through but at least at our level we don't tend to be this painful. Even then, the salaries and player market values of Notts cannot be compared. This is the Chelsea I grew up knowing, rubbish. You are best with Notts. Now there's another FACT! @william1984, feel free to tease Jake; you have my permission.

The Summer Transfer Business: Who stays, who goes, and who comes in?
Keanan Bennetts could become a very good first-team player, but also useful in rotation. With us allowing Kellan Gordon to leave, I think it's highly likely that the club will be working on a new deal for him. Isn't Kelle Roos on a one-year deal as well? No, it's a 2-year-deal, with the option to extend. I hope we can find someone interested to take him off our hands, I am told he's a good earner and part of the reason why we were very determined to see him continue despite not being all that good for us. James Belshaw might not be the long term candidate but I think our season would have been better had we not insisted on Roos, this might sound harsh or others might agree but I think keepers bring confidence and ultimately I do belive Belshaw would have made a HUGE difference earlier on. Rod McDonald and Matty Platt I would like to see retained, both good efenders. Platt can be exceptional, although his position is the centre of the back three and unless we switch to two central CBs I could see him being allowed to move on. McDonald plays the role very well when fit, but both could easily be rotated to rest or play as their attributes are needed. Maz Khouyar is a hard working, technically what I think we have missed. He might not be a world beater at this level, but his effort makes up for what he lacks. Keeping him would depend on whether we could sign someone who offers more, and is likely to contribute consistently. However, if his wages are not a lot, I would happily keep him. I would offer Ollie Norburn a year-deal, no pay increase. I am not fussed if he stays or go, early on it took him time to show me that he still had it, partly due to his fintess but there's no doubt he's a good player. I just find it hard to decide, as he's prone to making rash decisions and he does tend to be carded a lot. It's natural to a degree with his style of play, and I think his nonense is far better than Mchael Doyle but I am mindful of how packed we are in midfield. We may wish to mix things up, and my decision now could change depending on what league we find ourselves in next season. Harald Nilsen Tangen looks like one of those signings which will hinge on where we are too, much like Tyler Miller which in hindsight now feels like the club were aware of the Posh's interest in Alex Bass and that Miller would have stayed had we got promoted. I know this was what I got told, and I believe it as he did sign for Bolton and has had two more clubs since then (Miller). I like Tangen, he works hard and looks capable of improving. I think a full season would show this, but I do think there's factors unknown to us right now as to his short deal to be here on loan.

Such as how long you have supproted Notts, your favourite all-time and current player etc.

Weekly Chat Monday 27th April to Sunday 3rd May
I spent a lot of today, sleeping due to feeling unwell and being tired. I think it's todo with an appointment tomorrow, along with a busy weekend. Please wish me luck, not that I think I should need it but just in case it falls on deaf ears and that might intrunition is correct that the point of it is going to be a "U" turn/ hijacking. Today, I have managed to do some more important updates as I try to make each resource I can more optimised for performance. Unfortunately, I have made some errors with an important application that handles several features and my friend Shahed (I sometimes forget he has two h's in his name) isn't availible, but my thoughts are with him. I hope that I can suss out why I have caused the issues, but I have the older version backed up if not. Some good improvements which I am excited about, many I have put off from uploading just yet as I wanted to focus on doing a few together rather than one by one.

Loving this....
I don't knock ambition, but there are some who I find to be hard to take seriously on social media that will come out with some views or comments that leave me baffled. I do like hearing counter points, and well thought out opinions, but most complaints fall well short of that. Calling for Martin Paterson's head after I think it was 6 games unbeaten, and on the verge of the top place left me wondering why? Complaints that we didn't sign Ruben Rodrigues and this being a supposed sign of the club lacking ambition. Where would he fit into our current squad? Could he move around if needed? His best and only decent position for me was as an attacking midfeidler in a central position. We don't need that. Saying it was a mistake to allow David McGoldrick to go, mostly when he's in form, is a good discussion but I feel it is used as an excuse to critise the club and our owners. People who have been a breath of fresh air, and have single handedly allowed the club to operate in its best means in decades. There are many things that I could include, but they are obvious and weak, I don't think complaining that are spending money off the pitch should come with concerns about what we spend on it. Provided the squad we have is competitive, and the money benefits the club in the long term and squad. Which is exactly how I see the improvements; I notice people complaining about the training facilities and how we don't have them. Now we have a good agreement, which could lead to owning the training pitch as I know there's a lot of debt whilst we do have an agreement. Even leasing is beneficial because it builds our relationship with an important part of the city. I wouldn't be surprised if we do end up buying the land that our training pitch is on, as there's a lot of property being sold due to a lack of resources and it would be smart of us to secure it for the long term.

I am aware of some issues which are due to me having attempted to fix issues. I have been going through resources to further optimise and focus on performance related improvements, unfortunately one has hit an error but I will fix this ASAP.

Lewis Macari
It doesn't seem like a dislocation from the picture he shared on social media, which is awful because it might be worse. I don't wish to speculate, but the lower leg comment from the article suggests that it's more serious too. The club have done well to come out early, as sometimes it takes time and whilst Lewis Macari deserves his privacy, fans will wonder and the news should cut out some of the speculation. Lewis Macari is a very good player at our level, and I still think we haven't seen him at his prime yet and I hope he manages to make a return to achieve that. I was saddened to see him go off injured, we gave him our love by chanting his name and even Colchester United fans clapped him off. It was nice to see! Wishing you a speedy recovery, Lewis!

Loving this....
I don't really get angry, it's very rare and the disappointment level varies but it never reaches the point where I bring it home. Of course, I do feel at times we could give more of an account of ourselves but I feel I am balanced. I reflect based on many things, not just the outcome or performance of a game. I am not sure why some treat it as if it's life or death, or fail to factor in that certain games aren't our day. When we are poor, I don't understand why people choose to really behind the club but when we do well, they critise the form like this season where some feel we threw promotion away via the automatics. I feel we fought hard this season, through injuries, suspension, poor results and bad officiating. But I would never say that we should have stayed in the automatics because I don't believe we or any club has that right. PON exists to factor in how feelings of how things could have been, to balance the disappointment etc.

Welcome back York City
Rochdale has been a team that has clashed with us many times, where they feel their support makes them a bigger club and so much false belief that I am delighted to see York City return. What Rochdale have done is amazing, they have shown real fight and I credit them for that. Yet, I am more pleased with York as they haven't been in the EFL for some time and they are very much a team that I feel deserve to be here. I am happy for Stuart Maynard, but more for their supporters and club because they have had it rough for quite a few years. I hope Carlisle United manage to make a return via the playoffs. The playoffs actually look strong, and I wouldn't fancy Rochdale to keep up their season form; even Boreham Wood and Scunthorpe United would be better.

Match Discussion: League Two - Colchester United (A)
The game started off very end to end, and I think Colchester put the most pressure on us during the first half, but that said it was mostly uneventful and even throughout. I would say, there were times where they threatened us with corners and James Belshaw had to compete with a Colchester player trying to infringe him. Several times I noticed Owura Edwards, I think it was, constantly trying to push Belshaw and to get in the way. I know you are not allowed to push a keeper, but surely hustling whilst trying to prevent the keeper should be clamped down on and seen as a bookable offence. The referee was largely very biased towards not giving cards, which was frustrating because it allowed Colchester to do some underhanded fouls. What happened to Lewis Macari is very saddening to see, I believe he dislocated his knee judging how he went down and from what I have seen. I can tell you, that when this happens you do yelp (well I don't now, I've done it too much) but those who speculated that they saw his leg snap into two, I didn't see it and I don't think the reactions of the players said it was that. I really hope it's not a break, but I am sure Macari will be back. Second half Notts played and deserved to win, the goal by Nick Tsaroulla was very well taken and I jumped up as I sat on the front row before he even had realised himself that it was going in. I wished we had troubled their keeper more from that side, as he looked very uncomfortable dealing with shots and even those not very well struck he would thumble out for a corner. Colchester United wasn't bad, they lack firepower. I also felt somewhat disappointed by Alassana Jatta who made little impact, and missed some good chances by doing some rushed decisions and failing to make the right move. I had wished we had brough on Matt Dennis, as I felt towards the end around the 70 minute mark that his pace could help us as Colchester attemped to equalise and that pushed us deeper. Can we start a fundraiser to sign Tom Iorpenda? He's too good for League Two, but there's a chance he could be a massive coup if we could get him. Supposedly, it's his brother George who Huddlesfield Town are more interested in. I can see them selling him to a League One team, similar to what happened to Jorge Grant when he came here, but Tom is a very better footballer than Grant.
