  1. We need more tracking back from the midfield when out of possession. Everyone we have played so far seem to have a packed box whenever we stage an attack.
  2. My Lineup: Fitz / Tootle - Ward - Turley - Evina / Alessandra - Husin - Milsom - Boldewjin / Stead - Hemmings
  3. He also said that he had watched Notts in 2 games before he joined !! Does that mean Forest Green & Lincoln or Lincoln & Newport ?? It seems Kevin Nolan was on thin ice some time ago !!
  4. Toots or the Ox, with Turley, Ward & as a back four gives us something to be positive about. Just hope they are all fit enough to play.
  5. Apparently Toots & Hall we’re back in training this week. Don’t suppose they will be fit for this game but they must start as soon as they are.
  6. Allan Hardy has just said that 2 new players will be announced at 11:30 today (Friday) if they are the right positions (and fit to play) we’ll win 2 - 0
  7. Very refreshing to get balance opinions obvious proper football fans. No bravado, no BS. Hats off to them and Stevenage for having a great couple of fans.
  8. Looking forward to tomorrow’s press conference. We may see some new quotes from him then......
  9. Yes, on the face of it we will get a sound thrashing tomorrow. But I take no pleasure in saying that. how Wonderful would it be for us to get a positive result tomorrow and watch Kevin give the metaphorical two fingers to the idiots calling for his sacking after 4 games and before I get slated for saying 4 games, yes it is we have 8 new signings, it’s a new team, a new ethos & a new season.lets get real, get behind the team & get behind the manager.
  10. We need a leader on the pitch .... a good old fashioned centre half ( if there is such a thing any more).
  11. Only those inside the dressing room know how things have gone since last week. All we can do is hope that areas have been addressed and we have the players fit enough to take up the challenge. I think we all know the potential of the team if and when things click into position but whether we are there yet, we won’t know until after the game. I am hoping for the best outcome which would be 3 points, if we get a performance and a draw I suppose it could be the beginning of better things to come but I wish with all my heart that we could get a good performance and 3 points for the sake of the players and especially Kevin Nolan who has been put through the mill recently because he tried to do his best for the club (and the supporters) by bringing in better players who are taking time to adjust. 1 - 1 ...... Dennis
  12. Obviously it’s very unlikely we’ll get anything out of the game other than some fringe players gaining minutes or experience or both. Although we need the cash, we are best out of the cups, they were a major distraction last season and we have enough injury problems without these type of games. i just hope it’s not embarrassing.
  13. Looks like Hall will be missing this week due to slight groin strain. i just hope we play Dennis & Hemmings in a 4 4 2. I would like to see Kellett, I think he will be the surprise package this season.
  14. I have a feeling Kevin would like to appoint him captain but needs to assess how many games he’ll play. In my opinion that’s why he’s not yet awarded the captaincy to anyone full time.
  15. As much as I hope you’re right @ARLukomski (and I really enjoyed the article by the way), I can’t honestly see Notts finishing in the top 3. There is a feeling of disunity in the squad, they are a very long way off gelling as a unit from what I’ve seen and the new signings (other than Hemmings) have failed to impress. I don’t think Kevin will play Dennis & Hemmings together, the goalkeeper is not league 2 standard, Duffy is seriously suspect and I can’t see Vaughan playing more than 3 games on the bounce. I was as optimistic as any Notts fan when the club showed their ambition this closed season but bringing in new players doesn’t guarantee anything if they aren’t a team and it could take many weeks for that to become a reality. Notts to finish in top 5 but not automatic promotion contenders for me.
  16. Well thank goodness for that. He’s come out and said something about the general poor performance.
  17. At last we are building for the future as well as the present. All the signings are good and we can at last look towards waving goodbye to the constant threat of oblivion. Obviously the bringing in of all of these new youngsters guarantees nothing, but the ambition and forward thinking can’t be faulted.
  18. So that’s it ! A bloody plaque on a hotel wall and florist fans have a statue of Brain Cloth ! Is that supposed to be funny ?
  19. I am just thankful that, that incident alone didn’t cost us promotion. That would have been a nightmare for the lad who had performed well up until then. Onwards and upwards. Let’s hope he can rise to the opportunity of becoming our No.1 and create a name for himself under the right circumstances this season.
  20. At last Notts and the fans have something to be optimistic about. After years in the doldrums with false promises, dire ownership and excuses for managers we have fresh air blowing through Meadow Lane. In Alan Hardy we have a fan as the owner, someone with a great business head to guide the club, not with blind optimism, but with a common sense plan to keep us solvent whilst creating a fantastic platform for the future. we know we are on the right track when people from the other side of the Trent come creeping out of the woods with either condescending pats on the head or demeaning references to our league position. Yes, at last we have something to be optimistic about.
  21. Just what the doctor ordered ! If we can’t keep the players we have offered new deals to the recent activity will seem a little flat.
  22. The last young player we got from Man City was Stevie Carter and what an asset he turned out to be..... Notts County, MIXING WITH THE BIG BOYS ......... fantastic !!
  23. We couldn’t have wished for much better.... the statement must send a message to O’Connor and Jones. There must be very few (if any) clubs within leagues 1 & 2 with the ambition and positivity that we have around Meadow Lane these days. If they are holding out for a better prospect they are surely misguided.
  24. A fantastic start in the transfer market.... I would love to see Ben Hall come back. He may not fancy it though because he knows Kevin won’t drop Duffer and he will be looking for game time.
