  1. Jack's attitude is exactly what we want to see in our young players. He knows the value of senior influence, which is massive for his development, and he’s clearly absorbing every bit of advice from Palmer and McGoldrick. His comments about the fans at Meadow Lane really stand out too, it’s good to know our energy helps the team push through tough matches.
  2. Colchester’s defensive form is impressive, and it’s going to take a lot to break them down. Maynard’s focus on resilience and staying united shows he understands what’s needed. Injuries have hurt us, but it’s great to hear positive updates on Platt, Abbott, and Crowley. Managing minutes carefully is smart, we can’t afford further setbacks. This game is massive for getting back on track in the league. The team has shown flashes of brilliance, and with the right approach, we can create chances. Fans have been brilliant all season, and the atmosphere at Meadow Lane could give us that edge.
  3. The update to the member ranks and badges system is very good to see. Not only do they invigorate the current member base, but they also set an enticing standard for newcomers. By recognising efforts with ranks like legend and hall of fame, it not only honours those frequently engaged, but also inspires others to reach similar heights.
  4. Happy Birthday, Shaun. It was ambitious when you arrived as the manager and I wish you all the best with your career. It's good to know Notts didn't dampen it.
  5. I agree, it would be between two of the names mentioned in the voting, and I have gone for the one who delivered much of the fight to keep Notts within a slight glimmer of salvaging a draw, which is David McGoldrick.
  6. Congratulations to him. George Abbott has put together some excellent performances during November.
  7. Hard luck to the youth team. A 0-4 defeat might feel disappointing for them, but no doubt they will have earned praise from many fans who have been watching them regularly. Some of them might be the future of the club, so that will be their focus now. They should know we are proud of them for just drawing an academy like Fulham's.
  8. I don't get why we never gave him a chance, even when we were blessed with the options we had. It's like how we could do with Adam Chicksen, with the injury to Jodi and the lack of options out wide. I would have thought it would be easier to allow players to leave permanently than to loan them out while still contributing to their wages. Neither, I feel, will feature for Notts again, despite feeling like Junior Morias could contribute with goals. Chicksen isn't consistent enough, but always tried.
  9. I don't have a good feeling myself, not because I don't believe Notts will play well. I just feel like Walsall might sneak a win, possibly late in the game. The fans who attend need to show the lads that we have their backs and create the right atmosphere. It will encourage them and show the right support. I am hoping to hear news of Dan Crowley, although I might be tempted to suggest we save him for Colchester if he is close to making his return.
  10. Christ! What is Leicester City thinking! A lot of crap appointments are being made in football right now, it really is uninspiring and concerning. You might as well place your money on them to be relegated now.
  11. The FA Cup really does bring something special, doesn’t it? Stuart Maynard's remarks about dreaming of playing a Premier League team at home capture the excitement perfectly. Peterborough will be a challenging opponent, especially with their pace, but it’s reassuring to see how focused the team is. The updates on injuries are a boost too! It's good to hear that players like Jodi Jones are making progress. Practising penalties is a smart move; you never know when that’ll come in handy. Fingers crossed we get a result and make it to the third round.
  12. Facing Peterborough is a great test for us to see how we stack up against a solid League One side. Their attack is strong, so our backline will have to be sharper than ever, especially in dealing with any set-pieces. We’ve shown resilience in games this season, and if we can control the midfield, we’ve got a good chance. It’ll also depend on whether we’re clinical upfront, can’t afford to waste chances against a team like this. Let’s see if we can cause an upset.
  13. Hello @Peter Speers, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham! Take time to get used to the site.
  14. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Jon Lowe! Take time to get used to the site.
  15. It’s great for celebrating milestones within the community, whether it’s recognising long-term members or highlighting new faces who’ve joined. What’s the current plan for these? Are they going to be weekly or monthly? And will members have a chance to contribute content? I think this is just what we need to keep the community spirit alive and thriving. Thanks for putting the effort into this, it’s much appreciated!
  16. Manchester City have been a dominant force in the Premier League for a while now. Those who remember the old First Division know that teams have a period when they are the best, then things change. City will likely stay a top-four team, but the gap between them and other teams might become smaller.
  17. Football’s financial side always feels like a minefield. Partick Thistle’s situation seems all too familiar to fans of lower-league clubs. It’s a tightrope between investing to improve and staying within budget. When clubs take risks and it doesn’t pay off, the consequences are devastating. Scottish football seems even harder due to the smaller market, but it’s a shame to see such a historic club in trouble. I can’t help but think there needs to be more oversight or help for clubs at that level. At Notts, we've narrowly escaped financial turmoil on several occasions. We understand the anxiety that comes with those precarious situations. We’re incredibly fortunate to have the Reedtz Brothers as our current owners. Their prudent financial planning and thoughtful management have kept us stable. If more clubs adopted this sensible approach, it’s likely we’d witness fewer financial crises across the football world.
  18. What a brilliant opportunity for the Under-18s to test themselves against one of the best academy sides in the country! Fulham will be a huge challenge, but the experience of playing at Meadow Lane in front of home fans can’t be underestimated. The preparation sounds thorough, and it’s clear the lads are up for the challenge. Win or lose, they’ve already done the club proud reaching this stage. Let’s hope for a spirited performance and maybe even an upset!
  19. I respect how he always tries, even when tired and not performing well. He puts the same effort into his performances. Last season, the squad relied on him, which isn't ideal for a player like David McGoldrick. Even this season, we could have managed him better but haven't due to injuries and a lack of attacking options.
  20. This event is perfect for any football fan, especially those who followed Notts County during Martin Allen’s tenure. He’s a unique figure, fiery, passionate, and always entertaining. His post-match interviews were memorable, and he brought energy to the team during tough times. The podcast format will suit his storytelling style, and the Q&A will add a personal touch. Having it at the Big Shed is a brilliant idea; the atmosphere will be amazing. I think it will be a great event. Shame I can't make it!
  21. Derby County 1-0 Hull City Plymouth Argyle 0-2 Preston North End Cambridge United 1-0 Burton Albion Lincoln City 0-2 Stockport County Joker Bradford City 0-1 Doncaster Rovers Newport County1-3 Fleetwood Town Barnet 1-0 Rochdale Ebbsfleet United 0-0 Wealdstone
  22. He suffered several injuries that season, but he probably thought his performances would attract the attention of other clubs because of Munto. What surprises me is how Sol Campbell gets criticised for speaking out about the Munto saga, as he was wise to recognise the deception behind it all. Yet Johnnie Jackson is respected; it's not hard to settle in. While I understand it could be challenging, it’s not like many of the Geordie players we’ve had, and London isn’t that far from Nottingham.
  23. Cardiff City 1-1 Portsmouth Leeds United 2-1 Watford Bristol Rovers 1-0 Shrewsbury Town Peterborough United 3-2 Blackpool Fleetwood Town 2-1 Crewe Alexandra Joker Tranmere Rovers 1-0 Grimsby Town Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1 Eastleigh Tamworth 0-0 Yeovil Town
  24. It wasn't our best performance, but it was a job well done. I have to vote for Alex Bass, as he played a key role in our victory and helped us keep a clean sheet.
  25. Rod McDonald seems like a perfect fit for us. Even though he’s had a frustrating start with injuries, it sounds like he’s maintained a positive outlook, which is really admirable. The fact he’s talking about family and how much time he’s spent with them during recovery shows he's grounded and ready to get back to football. With our backline needing a bit of reinforcement, his experience is going to be invaluable. He mentioned some good things about Louis Macari too, so it’ll be interesting to see how they partner up. AFC Wimbledon won’t be easy, but if McDonald can settle in quickly and bring that leadership, we could be in for a good result.
