  1. I’ve got a feeling, even though most people don’t agree, that Matt Palmer will stay as captain. He has my full backing, but if someone else takes the role, I’ll support them too. Jacob Bedeau looks like the clear next option to me.
  2. I haven’t thought too much about it, but some clubs make odd choices. Chesterfield last season gave us a small number of tickets, even though they had lots of seats spare and still said it was a sell-out.
  3. I really wish they’d release the home shirt first instead of the away. I don’t understand why Puma is always late with it. If they can sort the away one, surely the home shirt should come first.
  4. This seems like a good idea. If it catches on and people start sharing different things, it might get them talking about topics they wouldn’t normally mention.
  5. Hello, welcome to PON @Triton 61.
  6. I hope those three goals are enough for Chelsea to secure the win. It would be good to see them come out on top. Any chance to get one over PSG is always welcome. There’s a bit of extra satisfaction in that.
  7. Cracking signing this, exactly the type of player we needed at the back!
  8. Either him or Matty Platt joining would likely cause a lot of upset, especially since we've let Alex Bass go. That decision alone has put fans on edge, so adding someone seen as a step down might stir things even more. I didn’t expect Sonny to be welcomed so warmly. I thought people on social media might kick up a fuss again, saying things like β€œhe’s just a loan” or β€œhe’s too young”. But it seems like he’s made a decent first impression.
  9. @Joshua, It’s a helpful push towards better control. Putting limits on how much clubs can spend means someone’s watching what they do, which makes it harder for mistakes or dodgy choices to be swept under the rug. Club owners and their media teams won’t be able to dismiss things quite so easily. With clear rules, it’ll be plain to see when spending gets out of hand or corners are being cut.
  10. Played sports for two hours earlier, which was fun, but it was way too hot for lessons. The best bit about being out on the field was feeling the breeze and having cold water to keep cool. When I got home, I didn’t bother turning on my computer. Just wanted to relax and not think too much. So I’ve been chilling with summer tunes in my ears, feet up on the table, and sitting back in my chair without a care in the world.
  11. I think Didzy leaving might’ve helped calm the bad mood that came with the news he wasn’t signing again. That’s probably why I feel most let down about it. Barnsley doesn’t seem like the place I’d pick to hang up my boots if I were his age. You’d think he’d go somewhere sunnier, or at least somewhere with better tea.
  12. It’s a good signing, no doubt. Still, I do wonder if we’re spending more on loan players than we usually would. We’ve got, what, three of them now? I’m not too worried, but it would be nice to buy a proper keeper. Someone we can count on long-term. It’d also be great to get an attacking midfielder in. Someone who can create chances and score goals. There must be clubs out there with the kind of player we’re looking for. We just have to go and find them.
  13. Top effort by the travelling fans. Makes you proud to see that backing in Germany.
  14. Real club hero. Doesn't wear a kit but she’s every bit part of the team.
  15. Football needs change. A regulator that’s truly separate from clubs and the league could make a real difference. If they get it right, it’ll be a big step forward.
  16. It’s great to see the site growing and moving forward. The effort is paying off, and it shows.
  17. Jatta’s a pro. Training with the B team will keep him sharp, and once the suspension is done, he’ll be back and causing problems for defenders. League Two won’t know what’s hit it. We’ve just got to stay positive.
  18. Conor Grant’s got something about him. He can find the net and will improve with more minutes. I’d rather see him given the chance over someone winding down their career. He just needs a settled role and only shift positions if we’re short.
  19. Hello, @Peter Thornley. Welcome to PON and the community. It's a great site here.

  22. I heard some teachers talking about it too, and like you, my first thought was the same. It’s really upsetting. Sadly, you do come across false stories now and again, so it’s important to stay careful. As soon as I saw it confirmed on the BBC Sport site, I had to pause for a moment. It’s such a sad situation.
  23. Bit gutted about Bass leaving, but Griffiths could be a hidden gem. Trust the process.
  24. A top keeper leaving at the worst time. Hope we’ve got a plan.
  25. @DangerousSausage, I didn’t think there was any truth in it, but some people are saying and guessing that it might be. There’s always someone making up excuses or spreading nonsense.
