  5. The match had a bit of everything. Early pressure from Fleetwood, some big saves from Roos, and a goal that came at just the right time. Dennis has really stepped up this season and took his chance with real composure. I also liked the way Jatta fitted in. He was physical, linked play and almost scored himself. That partnership with Dennis could be interesting going forward. The defence had to stand strong, and the midfield worked hard to break up play. There were still too many fouls for my liking, but at least we were competitive. Fleetwood had their moments, but we kept our shape. A clean sheet and three points makes it a good day overall.

  8. Jodi Jones said after the Newport game that Tom Iorpenda was playing in his usual spot and they weren’t speaking to each other. I’ve seen this happen quite a bit with the younger players coming into the team. I thought Tyrese Hall struggled with his positioning against Bromley. He looked unsure of where to be, and not one person spoke to him during the match. So it’s not just about the shape or formation. There’s a real issue with communication on the pitch, and the young lads aren’t getting the support or guidance they need from the others.

  13. No fluff, no drama, just straight answers. Gagliardi comes across as calm and measured, and that builds trust. You can tell he wants to build something lasting, not just chase short-term glory. The stuff about having patience as fans makes sense, with so many changes, it’s going to take time. But if this is the direction we’re going, I’m fully behind it. Let’s hope the results follow.

  15. The difference between both halves was pretty stark, but it shows we’ve got the ability to change things when needed. First 45 we were too passive, letting Cardiff play between the lines too easily. But after the break, we pressed higher, moved the ball quicker and created better chances. Barry Cotter’s goal came from that shift in tempo. Really composed finish. I liked what I saw from the bench too, Jatta was lively, and Rod McDonald brought some calm to the back. Still a few mistakes to iron out, especially the giveaway for their second, but that’s what pre-season is for. Overall, I’d say we’re a much fitter and better organised side than this time last year.
  16. Try not to overdo things when travelling. It’s best to look at the suggestions and plan your day so you’re not rushing about. If you try to squeeze too much into two days, it can become too much and you might feel like you’d have enjoyed it more if you'd taken it slow. If you get the chance to visit Meadow Lane, definitely go. Most of the staff are friendly and happy to show you around. Hope you enjoy your trip. Take your time and make the most of it.
  17. Hello, @one-two pie. You missed the chance of being oneeightsixtwopie. 😊 Still I like your choice in usernames, so welcome to PON!
  18. It was lovely out this morning, bright and just the right kind of cool. Now it’s boiling though. The wind helps a bit, but I feel like I’m melting faster than a snowman in Jamaica. The humidity always seems to hit hard when we get a heatwave here.
  19. That’s a good draw. Wigan Athletic could be beatable if we can bring in a few more players, especially with the problems they’ve had at the club.
  20. Southend have brought in a decent player who should settle in well. Sam Austin always looked keen to score, and even though he didn’t get loads of goals, his drive and runs forward made him a really useful player to have around. I hope he does well there.
  21. This is a tricky one to swallow, even though it's not altogether unexpected. Selling quality always hurts, particularly when it weakens an already critical position. I’d say Bass was comfortably among the top keepers we’ve had in recent years, so it’ll certainly be noticeable when he's not marshalling our defence. Hopefully, the management already have a keen eye on a potential replacement who can step straight in with minimal fuss. Fingers crossed the transfer funds aren't frittered away, because we genuinely have gaps elsewhere on the pitch that could do with investment too. Crucial time ahead now.
  22. I understand why people are talking about it, and I’ve seen a lot of comments on social media too. But I don’t like how the media are poking into someone’s personal life just because he’s taken what is, really, a normal job. The only thing that makes it different is that Luke Williams has worked as a football manager. If he was a bigger name, I could maybe understand the interest a bit more. But I agree with others who say he deserves his privacy. I don’t mind what he’s doing now, as long as he’s happy and doing okay. I’ve got no hard feelings towards him for leaving us.
  23. If it does turn out to be Steffen Højer, I wonder how everyone would feel about it. For a club like ours, it would be a big achievement to bring in someone with his background, especially after doing well with the Danish Under-21s. I’d be more than happy if he got the job. While EFL experience would be useful, a good coach should be able to adapt. With Notts looking to reshape the coaching setup, it does seem possible they might be going for someone who fits into that new structure.
  24. The Reedtz brothers know the club well. They’re supporters of Viborg, which explains their interest there, and it all seems to fit together. Hopefully the deal is done and the contract is secure, because if Denmark go on and win, there’s a chance we’d need to start looking again if the link is true. Even so, I’d like to think the club’s already sorted it all out if that’s the case.
  25. There are a few reasons floating about, and we’re all guessing what seems most likely. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s good to have some ideas about why it’s taken so long. If we’ve actually got the Danish Under-21s manager, then the announcement could be quite something.
