To be fair, we have pulled off some very good results on the road and compared to last season, this has been a big improvement. At home, our record is very good too. Some of the results could have gone our way a bit more, but during that period when we had injuries, we did everything possible to get through it. I do wonder how much Dan Crowley wanting out played into that period and if he was injured or just using excuses to force the club's hand. I am more confident about finishing in the automatic places than gambling it through the playoffs.

I voted for David McGoldrick. I was a bit disappointed that we conceded two goals after taking the lead. However, we have to admit that Walsall are a good team. I thought McGoldrick put in a good effort. Alassana Jatta had a quiet second half. He did well to score, but his performance could have been more impactful.

It’s hard not to feel frustrated after a performance like that. We had the ball, we had the shots, but we didn’t convert. Walsall were clinical with their finishing, and that’s what ultimately cost us. The penalty gave us a glimmer of hope, but the third goal so late on really took the wind out of our sails. The fact we got a goal back late on from Jack Hinchy was a small positive, but we need to manage the injuries we have. We need to take our chances, particularly when we dominate possession like that.

@ARLukomski who do you think Notts County might be more tempted by in the January transfer window? It’s interesting to see the focus on wing-backs and wingers in this discussion. I think Notts have done well with recruitment under the current setup, but it’s clear we could use more depth in these areas. Players who can contribute defensively and in attack will be key if we want to maintain our style throughout the season. I’d also love to see us unearth a gem from Scandinavia, as their leagues often go under the radar. A young, hungry player looking for their next step could be exactly what we need to strengthen for a promotion push.

For me, what’s impressive about Jatta is his physical presence on the pitch. He’s got that mix of strength and speed that makes him a real handful for defenders. It’s not just about what he does on the ball, either, his pressing and ability to track back are crucial in how we play as a team. He’s the kind of player who gives everything, and that’s why the fans are warming to him. Sure, he’s not the finished article yet, but you can see the raw talent is there. If he keeps working on his game, particularly his finishing, he could easily become one of the key players in our squad. He’s got a bright future ahead of him.

It’s tough for clubs like Partick Thistle when they face financial issues. It makes me wonder about the state of football as a whole, especially for teams outside the top leagues. A lot of clubs seem to rely on things like promotion to cover shortfalls, which isn’t sustainable. It’s encouraging to see Notts being run more carefully now after all we’ve been through. Owners who invest wisely and care about the long term are rare. I do feel for Thistle’s fans, though, as they’re stuck in the middle of it all. It’s easy to take stability for granted until it’s gone. Hopefully, they can sort it out without losing their identity or dropping too far down the leagues.

This match feels like such a special moment for the club and the young players. It’s rare for a youth team to face a Premier League academy at home, and it’ll be great for them to experience playing at Meadow Lane. I love that Dan Leivers focuses on effort and improvement over just winning, it’s the right approach to youth development. Whether or not they progress, this is the kind of challenge that helps players grow into future stars. I’ll definitely be there to cheer them on and hope others will too. The lads deserve our support for how far they’ve come already.

His talk about “momentum” is so true. Playing consistently is everything for a player. Hoping Jevani gets a solid run and shows his quality. Loved his comment on the goal relief. Not every day do you get a player who’s genuinely excited for the team, not just for himself. Speaks volumes.

Nick has fit in perfectly here. He’s clearly focused on enjoying every match, and his dribbling is something special. His approach to every game seems so genuine, like he’s really valuing each moment with us. Plus, that instinctive dribbling style is exactly what we need.

I appreciate how Maynard’s approach is about taking responsibility and not blaming refereeing decisions. Sure, they’ve been frustrating, but he’s right, the team’s creating chances, and now it’s about keeping composure in the final third. If we can start turning those chances into goals, especially at home, we’ll really be flying. Wimbledon’s a tough side, but if we focus on those big moments, I can see us getting the three points.

Maynard’s words about Cedwyn’s leave of absence really struck a chord with me. Mental health is still not talked about enough in football, and Cedwyn’s courage to come forward is a step in the right direction. As fans, we can sometimes be guilty of focusing too much on the results and not enough on the well-being of the players. Injuries are tough enough physically, but the mental toll can be just as challenging, if not more. I’m glad the club is handling this so well, and I hope it opens up more conversations about mental health in the sport.

It’s an easy choice for me. I voted for George Abbott, but I think any of the named players could have been chosen. I thought Sam Austin did really well, as did Matty Platt in defence. But it ultimately comes down to the all-round performance, and Abbott gets it for me.

Palmer’s reflections on the play-off final really bring back those intense moments. I was on the edge of my seat during that game, and it’s fascinating to hear how much the players themselves went through mentally. You can feel the emotion he describes, especially with the relief after Cedwyn’s penalty. It’s also good to hear how grounded he is about this season. The squad has definitely changed a lot, but I think his point about needing time to gel is spot on. I’ve got no doubt that with Matt’s leadership, we’ll continue to improve as the season progresses.
